Why Fans Think Lucy and Freddie From ‘Perfect Match' Are Dating
And so ends another season of Perfect Match, aka the most chaotic reality TV show on Netflix. This season was filled with drama (Louis Russell's surprise red carpet appearance with Huda Mustafa! Hannah Burns' mystery baby daddy! AD Smith and Ollie Sutherland's early reveal!) but it seems possible that AD and Ollie weren't the only two to get a happy ending. The latest theory: Fans think Lucy Syed and Freddie Powell are now an item. While season 3 winner Lucy ended the season with Daniel Perfetto and Freddie ended up with Madison Errichiello, it's already been revealed that (spoiler!) neither couple lasted. Lucy and Daniel split before they could even go on their all-expenses-paid vacation, and according to Freddie, he and Madison just couldn't make their long-distance relationship work. As Freddie said of Madison during a post-finale interview with Elite Daily, 'We carried on speaking afterwards, but we were very realistic about the fact that there was 4,000 miles between us. And gradually over time, it just became apparent that it was more of a friendship.' While Madison lives in Minneapolis, the Love Is Blind: UK alum is based in is much closer to where Lucy lives in London. But that's not why fans think they're dating. No, the reason has to do with a pair of Instagram posts. Earlier this week, Freddie shared a pic of himself in L.A. with the caption, 'No place I'd rather be.' A day later, Lucy posted a few snapshots with an identical based on her outfit, fans are convinced that she's the one casting a shadow in Freddie's picture. Seeing as they're both from the UK, it's unlikely that they just happened to bump into each other in L.A.—but that doesn't necessarily mean they're dating, of course. In fact, Lucy seemed to directly address the rumors during a recent interview, where she referred to herself and Freddie as 'friends' and nothing more. 'I hang out with Freddie now and we are just friends,' she said. 'He's like a brother figure…I don't feel any sexual spark with Freddie.' Fans will have to wait and see whether anything comes out of this ~friendship.~

‘Freaky Friday' director reveals he wasn't invited back for sequel: ‘I did raise my hand'
Even the filmmakers got swapped. Mark Waters, who directed the 2003 film 'Freaky Friday' starring Lindsay Lohan and Jamie Lee Curtis, has revealed that he was never even approached to return for this year's sequel. 10 Mark Waters attends the Netflix premiere of 'He's All That' at the NeueHouse in Hollywood, California, on August 25, 2021. 'I did raise my hand and say I'd love to be involved somehow, even in a kind of godfather aspect or executive producer.' 'But I was not extended an invitation,' he added. Advertisement 'I'm very supportive of them making a great new movie,' he told the outlet. 'It would have been nice to be involved, but now that I'm not, I sort of compartmentalize it for myself.' 'I need to devote my energy to keep making new, original things that are going to be hits, and people can remake them in 20 years,' Waters continued. 'So that's what I'm doing now. You can't worry about the projects that you don't do.' 10 Jamie Lee Curtis as Tess Coleman and Lindsay Lohan as Anna Coleman in 2003's 'Freaky Friday.' ©Buena Vista Pictures/Courtesy Everett Collection 10 Jamie Lee Curtis as Tess Coleman and Lindsay Lohan as Anna Coleman in 'Freakier Friday.' ©Walt Disney Co./Courtesy Everett Collection Advertisement The 'Mr. Popper's Penguins' director also revealed that some members of the cast wondered where he was when the sequel began filming. 'It certainly would have been fun, and I heard from quite a few cast members while they were shooting, saying, 'Where the hell are you, Waters?'' he shared. 'I have not forsaken you! I'm sorry.' Picking up 22 years after Anna Coleman (Lohan) and her mother Tess (Curtis) magically swapped bodies in 'Freaky Friday,' 'Freakier Friday' follows Anna and Tess after they swap bodies once again – but this time with Anna's daughter Harper (Julia Butters) and soon-to-be stepdaughter Lily (Sophia Hammons). 10 Jamie Lee Curtis as Tess Coleman and Lindsay Lohan as Anna Coleman in 'Freaky Friday' (2003). ©Walt Disney Co./Courtesy Everett Collection 10 Jamie Lee Curtis and Lindsay Lohan reprising their roles as Tess and Anna Coleman in 'Freakier Friday' (2025). ©Walt Disney Co./Courtesy Everett Collection The cast is rounded out by several returning characters, including Anna's ex-boyfriend Jake (Chad Michael Murray), teacher Mr. Elton (Stephen Tobolowsky) and Anna's little brother Harry (Ryan Malgarini). After the body-swapping sequel's release on Aug. 8, it received mixed reviews – including a particularly 'harsh' write-up from Time magazine. 'No one, as far as we know, actually asked Disney for a sequel to 2003's buoyant, surprisingly unsyrupy generation-gap comedy 'Freaky Friday,'' the outlet wrote. Advertisement Curtis later took to the comments section of the review to defend her and Lohan's new movie. 'SEEMS a TAD HARSH,' the 'Everything Everywhere All at Once' Oscar winner wrote. 'SOME people LOVE it. Me being one.'

A Nostalgic ‘Addams Family' Prop Could Join Your Spooky, Ooky Collection
The Addams Family has come a long way since Charles Addams' paper cartoons debuted in 1938 and is currently in its Gen Z era incarnation, thanks to director Tim Burton. Still, the real ones know that before Wednesday on Netflix introduced us to Jenna Ortega as the acerbic teen and explored her mystery-laden life in dark academia, Christina Ricci made her a '90s icon. Propstore is rolling out a standout piece of nostalgia for The Addams Family as part of its upcoming Entertainment Memorabilia Auction: a silly and spooky wooden children's dinosaur toy that only an Addams or Addams fan could love. The morbidly adorable toy joins other highly coveted pop culture treasures such as Darth Vader's lightsaber from Star Wars and a whip from Indiana Jones. The green bug-eyed piece was featured in Barry Sonnenfeld's 1991 film The Addams Family. It can be seen in a scene where Wednesday (Ricci) was playing with it to keep herself entertained while we get Fester's fabricated backstory during a pivotal part of the film. Propstore's official description of the piece informs potential buyers of its rarity: 'This production-made toy, a plastic dinosaur on wheels with googly eyes, painted green with dark green spikes and a red mouth, shows signs of age and filming use, including pitting, chipping, striations, cracking, and wheel scratches. It measures approximately 18″ x 6.5″ x 6″ (45.75 cm x 16.75 cm x 15.25 cm)' and it's estimated to be getting a winning bid somewhere in the ballpark of $2,000–$4,000. However, with the character of Wednesday being all the rage again thanks to the Netflix show's return, it could go for much higher. The auction takes place in early September; find out more, including how to bid, here. Want more io9 news?
