Class of 2027 Notre Dame in-state DE target Jayce Brewer picks up an offer from LSU

USA Today26-07-2025
Notre Dame received a big commitment in its 2027 recruiting class this past Thursday when quarterback Teddy Jarrard pledged to the Fighting Irish. Landing a quarterback of his caliber early in a class is always a nice luxury, as it could potentially set the table for a special class.
The Irish are in play for some intriguing prospects on the other side of the ball in this class as well, including in-state Franklin Central (Indianapolis, IN) defensive end Jayce Brewer. But the Irish will have some work to do in order to get his commitment.
Brewer has a lot of offers from major programs, and he just picked another one up from Brian Kelly and LSU.
The four-star prospect is the No. 3 player from the state of Indiana for the 2027 class, per the 247Sports Composite Rankings. The 6-foot-5, 240-pound pass rusher has offers from major programs such as Michigan, Penn State and Florida, among others, in addition to the Irish and LSU.
Last season, Brewer recorded 12 tackles for loss along with three sacks and an interception. Marcus Freeman, Al Washington and Co. are in the mix for the athletic and raw Brewer, but they will have to hold off LSU and others for his pledge.

Video Of NFL Star Jaycee Horn's Car Crash Has Emerged

Video Of NFL Star Jaycee Horn's Car Crash Has Emerged originally appeared on The Spun. The Carolina Panthers had to practice without star cornerback Jaycee Horn this Wednesday. That's because he was involved in a car accident. Although the accident isn't expected to keep Horn off the field for long, he will miss the team's preseason opener against the Cleveland Browns. The coaching staff revealed that Horn is dealing with a left thumb injury. "I'm glad that Jaycee was OK," Panthers head coach Dave Canales said. "He did have to have a few stitches in his left thumb area. So they got that all cleaned up and sutured up. ... It doesn't seem like anything else happened, but you know we're just gonna kind of evaluate him each day." Horn went on social media to reassure fans that he's doing fine. The South Carolina product wrote, "I'm straight ! Nun major thank god." On Wednesday night, footage of the alleged accident involving Horn surfaced on Instagram. The video that's going viral appears to show a Mercedes-Maybach SUV crashing into a pickup truck in Charlotte. Check it out: Horn, the No. 8 pick from the 2021 NFL Draft, has racked up 153 total tackles, 26 pass break-ups and five interceptions since going pro. The Panthers signed Horn to a four–year, $100 million extension earlier this offseason. His deal included $46 million. Suffice to say, Carolina wants its $100 million cornerback on the field for Week 1. North Carolina could bring back iconic uniform for 2025 football season

Will the Tar Heels bring back an iconic uniform? The excitment around the North Carolina Tar Heels' football program is at an all-time high as they get ready to usher in a new era under Bill Belichick. As the legendary head coach begins his first season with the program, many are hoping he can turn things around. There will be a lot of attention on the program nationally as well. Belichick is obviously a big name in the business and landing a head coach like him was huge for the program. It also opened up the door for new opportunities in terms of revenue and fun ideas for the program. That includes the return of a classic uniform possibly this season. Per Taylor Vippolis of Inside Carolina, the Tar Heels have placed an order for the 1980's throwback uniform, hoping to wear them this year. The Tar Heels brought back the navy uniforms a few years back which ended up being a hit. This classic uniform is a fan favorite, donned by Lawrence Taylor among other Tar Heel legends. Bringing it back would be a HUGE hit with the fanbase and with Belichick's ties to Taylor, it makes a lot of sense. There's no word on if these were approved or what games they would wear them for but I can't see why they would say no. Let's hope we get to see these at some point this season.
