Katie Lowes teases ‘The Hunting Wives' Season 2 return after Jill's death

It's an old wives' tale. 'The Hunting Wives' star Katie Lowes could return to the hit steamy thriller in Season 2, even after her character's dramatic death. 'Anything's possible, right? I definitely think Jill is dead,' Lowes, 42, exclusively told The Post. Advertisement 'I keep getting texts like 'she's not dead. She's in a coma,'' she laughed. 8 Katie Lowes on 'The Hunting Wives.' Lionsgate The 'Scandal' actress explained, 'We know that the [show's] world is wild and out there. So, who knows? But, I think that hopefully there could always be flashbacks.' Advertisement 'The Hunting Wives' has not officially confirmed a Season 2 renewal. But the series, now on Netflix, was the most-streamed show the first week of August, raking up over 2 billion minutes viewed, per Deadline. 8 Malin Akerman and Brittany Snow in 'The Hunting Wives.' Netflix The raunchy hit follows Sophie (Brittany Snow), a Massachusetts woman who relocates to Texas thanks to her husband's job. Soon, she becomes entangled in the web of her new friend Margo Banks (Malin Akerman), the Queen Bee leader of the local community. Advertisement Margo presides over a clique of moms and socialites who like shooting guns – and, she also has affairs with men and women alike, including fellow member of their girl group, Callie (Jaime Ray Newman) and her friend Jill's (Lowes) son, Brad (George Ferrier). Jill is the local preacher's wife and a basketball mom – and she's oddly possessive of Brad. 8 Jaime Ray Newman, Malin Akerman, Brittany Snow, and Katie Lowes in 'The Hunting Wives.' Netflix 'People would ask me if that was hard to play [Jill],' Lowes told The Post. 'Obviously, her marriage is horrible. She got married very young. And I think she's incredibly lonely, and no one cares about her. And she's a very capable, smart woman. And her wires got crossed. And all of her life's passions just fell on Brad.' Advertisement 'I made it 42 years without having to make that phone call to my dad saying, 'I just want to prepare you,'' she told The Post. Lowes added that she did get nude a few times during her college days at NYU for 'experimental theater,' but that was 'before the iPhone.' She quipped, 'And at the time, I thought I was making the best theater in the world. Looking back, maybe not… But it doesn't live on Netflix!'

Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. Entertainment gossip and news from Newsweek's network of contributors It was announced that the Wayans Brothers would return to the beloved "Scary Movie" franchise to reboot the series with full direction. Keenan Ivory Wayans will return to produce, while Marlon Wayans and Sean Wayans will presumably help write and star in he newest chapter. More news: James Gunn Drops Major Hint at Margot Robbie Returning to DCU While not much is known about what the new film in the franchise will entail, two of the original stars of the franchise are also set to return. In a new report from Deadline, Anna Faris and Regina Hall will return to the new "Scary Movie," reprising their roles as Brenda and Cindy, respectively. 33. "Scary Movie" (2000). Miramax More news: Paramount Confirms New 'TMNT' Live-Action Film is in Development Both shared a quote on their return, stating: "We can't wait to bring Brenda and Cindy back to life and be reunited with our great friends Keenen, Shawn and Marlon—three men we'd literally die for (in Brenda's case, again.)" Hall and Faris starred in the first four "Scary Movie" films, but only the first two were written and directed by the Wayans Bros. With the family creative group getting involved again, they are bringing back two of the most fan-favorite characters in the franchise. According to Deadline, the film is set to shoot in October and is slated for a June 12, 2026, release date. Considering Cindy and Brenda are returning, it would be believed that Sean's Ray Wilkins and Marlon's Shorty would also be making a return, though that has not yet been confirmed. The original two "Scary Movie" films were a massive hit with audiences, with the first film releasing in 2000 and pulling in $278 million worldwide on a budget of $19 million. The second chapter in the "Scary Movie" universe followed shortly after in 2001, bringing in $141 million on a $45 million budget. The entire franchise has gone on to earn over $897 million through five films, making its return not at all shocking. Despite the big return, the Wayans Brothers have not been involved in the creativity of the franchise since "Scary Movie 2." The original films parodied "Scream," "I Know What You Did Last Summer," "The Exorcist," "The Shining," and so much more. Given the current state of horror, expect there to be a lot of films that are made fun of, such as "The Conjuring" films, though this is just speculation. Either way, fans of the original two films will be happy to know that Brenda and Cindy are back. For more on movie news, head to Newsweek Movies.

File Photo by Mike Goulding/UPI | License Photo Aug. 15 (UPI) -- Sophie Turner is opening up about what it was like kissing her former Game of Thrones co-star Kit Harington in the upcoming gothic horror film The Dreadful, which Turner also produces. The actress, 29, and Harington, 38, played onscreen siblings Sansa Stark and Jon Snow on Game of Thrones and now portray lovers in The Dreadful. Turner discussed the film on Late Night with Seth Meyers Thursday. "I sent the script to Kit and he kind of sent me a message back going like, 'Yeah, I'd love to, but this is going to be really ... weird Soph,'" she told Meyers. "And I was like, 'What is he talking about?' And then I was reading it and I'm like kiss, kiss, sex, kiss, sex. And then I'm like, 'Oh, shoot, that's my brother.'" "But it's such a good script that he was like, 'We kind of have to do it.' So then we put it out our minds and then we get on set, and it's the first kissing scene, and we are both retching. Like, really, it is vile. It was the worst. Another really bad moment in my career," she added. Meyers asked Turner if the experience was worse than filming with live rats and cockroaches for her upcoming movie Trust. "Yeah," she responded. In The Dreadful, Turner portrays Anne, a woman living her mother-in-law amid the War of the Roses. Harrington plays a man from their past who complicates Anne's life, Deadline reports.
