Super Bowl champion Suh makes NFL retirement official
Ndamukong Suh, a Super Bowl champion defensive tackle who played 13 NFL seasons, announced his official retirement from the league in a social media post on Saturday.
The 38-year-old American has not played in the NFL since the 2022 playoffs for Philadelphia, serving as a television analyst.

Suh, the son of a Jamaican mother and Cameroonian father, posted a message on social media noting the one-year anniversary of his father's death, calling it the hardest day of his life.
"He wasn't just a dad. He was my idol, my coach, and my anchor. He taught me what it meant to be disciplined, focused, and relentless in everything I do. Every snap I took in football carried his fingerprint." Suh wrote on X.
"Before he passed, he gave me one final piece of advice, 'It's time to let football go. You've done everything you set out to do. Now it's time for the next chapter.' That conversation stayed with me.
"So today, one year later, I'm honoring that wish. I'm officially retiring from the NFL."

Suh was the second overall pick in the 2010 NFL Draft by Detroit and won the 2010 NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year award. He also played for Miami, the Los Angeles Rams, Tampa Bay and Philadelphia in his final campaign in 2022.
Suh helped Tampa Bay win the 2021 Super Bowl over Kansas City and was a five-time Pro Bowl all-star player.
"I have so many memories to cherish," Suh posted. "I left it all on the field, and now I'm stepping away with peace and gratitude. Because I've been preparing for this moment for years. Football was my passion, but it was never my endgame.
"My next season is about impact, purpose, and legacy. About helping others build wealth, lead with intention, and create lasting freedom.

"I've lived. I've learned. I've built. I've failed. I've succeeded. And now I want to share what I've learned; especially with athletes, entrepreneurs, and young people navigating life and money."

The latter has earned some acclaim as a potential first-year starter, but it appears league-wide recognition must wait. ESPN's Jeremy Fowler has been conducting a series of polls, gathering input from executives, coaches, and scouts. This time around, he used the info gained to rank safeties. Baltimore Ravens star Kyle Hamilton topped the list, but Philadelphia is void of any real mention. Yes, you read that correctly. There is not one Bird on the list of ten players. There are no honorable mentions. Nothing... It seems strange because, while Sydney Brown, Tristin McCollum, and Lewis Cine are still unproven, it seems that Reed Blankenship could have at least gotten mentioned. Blankenship was left off the most recent Pro Bowl roster, but he started on fire and led vote-getters at safety for a while. It's still hard to vote him into the top ten. Julian Love is ranked tenth and is probably a slightly better player than Blankenship. It still seems like he could have at least been an honorable mention, though. He's on par with many of the other guys who were mentioned, including former Eagle C.J. Gardner-Johnson. Blankenship is in a contract season and is certainly someone that Philadelphia should consider extending. In his first three seasons, he has been part of a Super Bowl-winning team and appeared in 40 regular-season games, including 34 starts. He has notched 225 tackles, eight interceptions, and 19 pass breakups.

‘Sullivan's Crossing' Dethroned In Netflix's Top 10 List By A New Show
Sullivan's Crossing It's Tuesday, and unlike Squid Game, a new show at #1 on Netflix's Top 10 list could not stand up to the behemoth that is Netflix's big Monday night program. That would of course be WWE Monday Night RAW, which has now unseated Netflix's big licensed hit, Sullivan's Crossing, which has ascended the ranks and become a rare, non-Netflix-original. Sullivan's Crossing has been planted at #1 for a while now, the low key, drama-romance series that originally aired on CTV and the CW airing two seasons on Netflix. Viewers can already watch season 3 of the series, but not on Netflix, rather on the CW site or app, which will be full of ads, but at least it's better than nothing. It should be on Netflix in August, however. Season 4 of Sullivan's Crossing is already greenlit, and presumably Netflix will snag that as well, given how well these first two seasons are performing. Top 10 Squid Game season 3 remains at #3 well after launch, no great surprise given its record-setting performance at release, and it continues to climb the overall most-watched charts on Netflix. It's been there so long it doesn't even have a 'new season' badge on it anymore. A new season of Quarterback, the Drive to Survive-for-the-NFL series, has now hit Netflix, coming in at #4 currently. This time around the show is following the lives and games of Joe Burrow, Jared Goff and Kirk Cousins over the course of last season. The first season did well, and this seems like a show that's going to air for quite a while here. The Waterfront, the original Netflix crime drama, is still in the top 5 at #5, and fans are still waiting for news about the show being renewed for a second season. As I've said before, I believe this is almost a sure thing, given its performance, but it can just take a while to get these sorts of things finalized, and I'm expecting we will hear something in the coming weeks. The final season of Sandman did not do amazingly well, down to #9 already, but that was the last one, so it doesn't exactly matter. One not-amazing story so far is the recent debut of Lena Dunham's comedy Too Much, which has arrived at #10, quite poor for a new series, and may drop off the list in short order. Such attrition provides the opportunity for younger players on the roster to assume larger roles while creating another Super Bowl window for a team that'll have new starters at several key defensive positions.
