The fun begins with Lucy Dacus as she kicks off Make the World Better Concert Weekend in FDR Park. Rap icon Nas is also taking the stage in Philly with the Philadelphia Orchestra Friday night.
The fun continues as the iconic Savannah Bananas are coming to town for two Banana Ball games Saturday and Sunday. Plus, it's the final weekend to catch "Life of Pi" at the Academy of Music.

Citizens Bank Park is going bananas this weekend!
That's because the one, the only Savannah Bananas are bringing their signature tricks and gimmicks to South Philly for two games of pure Banana Ball against the Texas Tailgaters this weekend.
A Savannah Bananas game is not your mother's baseball game. Between the team's circus-like skills, plus the special rules of Banana Ball, guests are in for a truly entertaining and eventful performance.
Tickets to see the 2025 Banana Ball World Tour will cost you a bit, however.
Tickets to Saturday's 7 p.m. game start at $96, while tickets for Sunday's 3:30 p.m. game start at $120.
Considered one of the greatest rappers of all time, Nas, will be in Philadelphia this week for a very special performance.
Nasir with The Philadelphia Orchestra will be performing Illmatic: Live at the TD Pavilion at The Mann on Friday, rain or shine.
His debut album, Illamtic, was released on April 19, 1994, making the album 31 years old.
Aging like fine wine, this album put the Queensbridge, New York, native on the map, eventually becoming platinum.
Tickets start at $47.
Doors open at 6 p.m. and showtime is expected to start at 8 p.m.
The Grammy Award-winning emcee has 17 albums under his belt, with a new collaborative project with DJ Premier expected to be released this year.

On Friday, catch singer-songwriter Lucy Dacus with Hop Along and Jay Som starting at 5:30 p.m.
It's sure to be a special night with Dacus, who previously lived in Philly and has said her song "Modigliani" was inspired by art at the Barnes Foundation, one of her favorite museums. Her latest album, "Forever is a Feeling," was released in March. Dacus also performs as part of the band Boy Genius with Phoebe Bridgers and Julien Baker.
General admission tickets start at $75 online.
Remi Wolf will take center stage on Sunday as part of the concert weekend at FDR Park. The "Disco Man" singer will be joined by Annie DiRusso for the show, which starts at 5:30 p.m.

Start your Saturday with some morning miles and music as Diplo joins the fun at FDR Park.
The Temple grad is bringing Diplo's Run Club to Philly for the first time. The 5K run starts at 8:30 a.m., and you can celebrate your achievement at the post-race concert. A-Trak performs at 9 a.m., followed by Diplo at 10 a.m.
Tickets for the race and concert start at $75 (before fees) online, and spectator-only tickets are $52. You'll have to pick up your race packet on Friday at Union Transfer.
Fans of Dave Matthews Band will be crashing into Freedom Mortgage Pavilion in Camden, New Jersey, on Friday and Saturday as the iconic '90s jam band returns to the Philadelphia area.
Two-day lawn tickets are available on Ticketmaster. Tickets can also be purchased on third-party sites, such as SeatGeek and StubHub.
The shows will be Dave Matthews Band's 49th and 50th time playing Freedom Mortgage Pavilion. Dave Matthews has played the venue solo once in his touring career. The band, active since 1991, has sold over 32 million albums in the U.S.

The Philadelphia Chinese Lantern Festival is back, illuminating Franklin Square for visitors all summer long. This year's festival celebrates the Year of the Snake and features over 1,000 sculptures placed in nearly 40 brand-new lantern displays.
Visitors can also enjoy authentic Chinese food, immerse themselves in cultural performances and watch the magic continue with the Franklin Square Fountain Show!

Based on the best-selling novel and Oscar Award-winning movie, "Life of Pi," the play is now at the Academy of Music on South Broad Street through Sunday.
"Told with jaw-dropping visuals, world-class puppetry, and exquisite stagecraft, Life of Pi creates a breathtaking journey that will leave you filled with awe and joy," a description of the performance read in part on Ensemble Arts Philly's website.
Tickets are available online for Friday night's show, Saturday's matinee and night performance, as well as Sunday's matinee performance.
The Delaware State Fair is going out with a bang this weekend, as it closes out its 10-day event extravaganza. The annual celebration is the longest-running and largest fair in Delmarva, beginning back in 1919, according to the fair's website.
The final weekend of this family-friendly festival will surely not disappoint.
Rapper T.I. and country duo Big & Rich are both scheduled to perform. Additionally, both Friday and Saturday feature a 12-hour lineup of activities for guests to choose from throughout the day.

A classic Sunny takes on Cybertrucks and slap fights
[Editor's note: The A.V. Club will return to recap this season's finale on August 20.] It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia has gifted fans dozens of the dumbest schemes in the history of television. In fact, if you had to say what this show was about more than anything else, it would probably be five idiots doing damage control after their very bad ideas explode in their faces. Whether they're making Kitten Mittens, collecting Philly's trash, or solving the gas crisis, the Paddy's Pub Gang has a unique ability to take get-rich-quick schemes and set them on fire. And in 'Thought Leadership: A Corporate Conversation,' writers Charlie Day and Rob Mac use viral subjects like slap fighting and Tesla's Cybertruck to concoct a very funny episode that feels both classic Sunny and current. An alternate title for this week's episode could have been 'The Gang Has Watched Too Much Succession.' The HBO hit isn't directly name-checked, but that booming score sure sounds a lot like Nicholas Brittell's compositions on the multiple Emmy winner. They've actually been watching a bunch of clips of a corporate retreat in Idaho, leading to some fantastic misinterpretations of 'business speak,' including Mac saying nonsense like 'hammer down our brand identity and come out open commando' and Charlie thinking the sacrificial lamb was actual meat and also suggesting they use other animals than a 'scapegoat' like maybe a 'fall fish' or a 'scapefish' or a 'fall bird'—and then we're back to Dee. (Charlie Day is spectacular in this episode.) The YouTube rabbit hole of Idaho corporate training also allows people like Dennis and Mac to say phrases that mean just about nothing, like, 'First and foremost, the business must be protected at all times.' The current concern is a reporter in Paddy's Pub who Frank believes is there because they dumped 500 gallons of baby oil and 200 Paddy's Pub T-shirts into the Schuylkill River. How did that happen? Flashback time! 'Paddysgate' started several weeks ago when Frank found a jug out back, arguably the dumbest inciting event for one of his schemes to date. After arguing over how to musically use the jug, and a bit of clawing each other's faces, the Gang got their own individual jugs, but they were full of water. How do you get rid of water? Charlie insists it can't be used to clean the bar and it's probably not smart to start a fire, so they begin the slow process of drinking it and talk about the art of braising, evidence disposal, baby oil, and even the Cybertruck. And then there's the big question of 2025: 'What are your thoughts on slap fighting?' After a few days of slapping within the group, Mac has a business idea: 'professional slap fighting.' They stage these bouts in the bar, which attracts a crowd. But the gang has never come up with a good idea they couldn't destroy, often through their horniness. So Dennis gives an amazing speech about how slap fighting isn't erotic enough and turns it into a pitch about an unfulfilled future: 'We were promised women going wild.' Before you know it, Paddy's has moved from burly dudes to bikinis and baby oil, although most of the women don't go for the latter. And to entice a higher quality of contestant, they decide to give away a prize: a Cybertruck. But they become obsessed with Elon's dumb car and decide they want to keep it for themselves, forcing Dee to become a ringer in the competition. It might have worked if Charlie hadn't fallen back on some bad habits. He goes to find the Waitress (Day's wife, Mary Elizabeth Ellis), offering to 'oil' her so she can win the car. And there's a truly funny exchange in which she asks if he's stalking her again. 'No, that's not my thing,' he says. 'Flirting maybe.' It's a clever nod to a conversation around the show regarding Charlie's aggressive behavior, especially in early seasons, that also underlines his complete lack of self-awareness. As the Waitress is living in her car, she jumps at the chance to upgrade her domicile, slapping the shit out of Dee before discovering they're not actually giving away a Tesla. When she threatens to go to the police, Frank and company dispose of the evidence, but Charlie reveals that Frank's urgency is because he had crossed the 'girls gone wild' line and was staging an orgy in the basement. After the blame game is complete, the Gang comes up with a 'no comment'—only to discover that the sole customer in Paddy's Pub isn't a reporter. She's the sex worker for Frank's orgy. Stray observations • Never using Elon's actual name is wonderful—you know he would have loved being referred to as something other than 'The Space Nerd'—as is Dee's revelation that she thinks the Cybertruck is ugly. She is not wrong. • Playing 'In the Hall Of The Mountain King' while Dee slaps the sanity out of people is a season highlight. • Charlie has so many good lines this week, including 'They're too dry! And so they don't feel wild!' and 'How do you get the oil out of the baby?' • Mary Elizabeth Ellis has been in at least one episode of every season of It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia, and we still don't know her character's name. The Gang does! They revealed recently on their podcast that not only did she originally have a name they still know but explain why they will probably never reveal it. It's a good watch. Aaron Rodgers gushes over new wife: ‘Your whole world changes when you meet the right one'
Aaron Rodgers has kept his marriage on the down low, but he has no issue speaking about their love at length. The 41-year-old confirmed at minicamp that he got married over the offseason after he was spotted with a band that he confirmed was a wedding ring. Not much is known about Rodgers' wife, except that her name is Brittani. Rodgers spoke at length last month about his wife's wishes for a private life. But he made their "unconditional" love very public while speaking with the NFL Network on Saturday. "When you meet the right one, and you're with the right one, your whole world changes in a second. And to have that person that unconditionally loves you behind the scenes, there's no better feeling in the world, and I've got the most incredible wife," Rodgers said, via "I just really love her, and I'm so thankful to have her by my side at the end. When you have that stability and that rock behind you at the house, you feel like you can do anything." Rodgers' relationship history has been the subject of widespread coverage and controversy throughout his NFL career. Rodgers previously dated actresses Olivia Munn and Shaleine Woodley and former NASCAR driver Danica Patrick. Rodgers' past relationships were recalled in his docuseries "Enigma," which debuted on Netflix last week. He explained that he "hated" the fame that came with his successful football career. Rodgers signed a one-year deal with the Pittsburgh Steelers over the offseason after a failed tenure with the New York Jets, who released him. In ironic fashion, the Steelers and Jets face off to begin the NFL season.
