'Denise Welch made me buy this £49 M&S jacket that's perfect for summer layering'
The Loose Women panellist is best known for her acting and presenting roles, but one of her recent outfits cemented her name on the list of daytime TV fashion icons If you'd asked me last month to name my daytime fashion inspirations, I'd likely have reeled off the usual suspects - Frankie Bridge, Cat Deeley or Rochelle Humes. Denise Welch probably wouldn't have been the first name that comes to mind, but appearing on a June episode of Loose Women, the actress was seen sporting a piece that I instantly had to track down. The 67-year-old donned the Pure Cotton Striped Tie Front Shacket from M&S's Per Una collection, which happens to be under £50. When I checked online for stock, it had completely sold out, but luckily I managed to get my hands on it in store. Lucky for shoppers, it's since been restocked and is available in most sizes. Now, I really dislike the word shacket. It gives me the same visceral reaction others get to words like 'moist'. However, while the word once triggered fashion fatigue, it really is the best way to describe this blouse-come-layering-piece. Priced at £49.50, the lightweight jacket is made from 100% cotton in an oversized, boxy fit. It's lightweight enough to be worn alone as a blouse, but heavy enough to wear as a jacket without it being flimsy. It boasts long sleeves and a collared V-neckline, complete with three tie front closures for an on-trend look. This design detail is one that won't be going out of style anytime soon, either, which means shoppers can wear it year-round. However, not everyone has been a fan of the trend. On the M&S jacket, one shopper commented: 'Who needs such fussy ties to close this top? This season seems full of them.' That said, others have left five star reviews, complimenting the shacket's 'good quality' and 'comfortable' feel. One wrote: 'The item was made of good quality fabric with an unusual closure but it was large. I usually take 18/20 and even the 16 was loose.' Another said: 'Great quality and design, comfortable to wear was a little unsure as shacket as have purchased one before and not altogether sold on these as really was not one thing or another but I would say this is a heavy denim shirt and a good spring top very intend with the tie front.' If the M&S tie-front shacket has whet your appetite for a new denim staple, but isn't quite for you, Boden's Denim Frill Collar Jacket costs £119 and is channeling Parisian vibes. The feminine ruffles are a dreamy touch that set it apart from other denim pieces on the high street. Alternatively, this ASOS DESIGN denim rugby top is on sale from £36 to £23.50. It has that same revere collar silhouette, but is ideal for wearing solo, accessorised with a satin neck tie. As for the M&S jacket, I paired it with the matching pinstripe jeans, however, I was a little bit let down by them. The quality and cut were spot on, but they appear to be a touch lighter than the top, and while most people wouldn't notice, it does bug me a little bit. It doesn't matter when wearing them as separates, but when opting for the full co-ord look, it would have been better if they were exactly the same shade. Another slight downside about the top is that the ties do occasionally need tightening throughout the day, but that's a minor inconvenience and wouldn't stop me from wearing it - especially considering how many compliments it's earned me. So while Denise Welch being a style icon may not have been on my 2025 bingo card, I must give credit where it's due because I haven't been able to stop wearing this jacket since I bought it. It's currently available in sizes 8-22 online, though some additional sizes could be found in store. It is roomy, so if you enjoy an oversized fit, I'd go for your usual size, but for a snugger silhouette, many will be able to afford sizing down.

Katie Price almost pops out of tiny green bikini in Dubai after risking arrest
Katie Price posed up a storm in a tiny string bikini in Dubai, showcasing her epic collection of tattoos, pink Christian Dior sliders and a bright yellow manicure Katie Price made sure all eyes were on her as she posed to perfection in a barely-there bikini in Dubai recently. The glamour icon, 47, has been sunning herself on a number of jaunts recently and made the most of the gorgeous weather in the Middle East. Sporting a tiny patterned turquoise bikini, the mum-of-five showcased her epic collection of tattoos, sporting pink Christian Dior sliders and a bright yellow manicure. Pouting up a storm with her black hair scraped back into a ponytail, the Pricey risked popping out of her striking two-piece as she took a dip in the crystal clear pool while flashing her bum. Katie is no stranger to Dubai, having jetted off to the celebrity mecca in June. After posing for a selfie in a see-through crocheted dress, her followers warned her she risked arrest in the revealing outfit. The OnlyFans star appeared to be going underwear-free as she posed in the mirror at a swanky hotel. Dubai, of course, is devoutly Muslim and t ourists are advised to dress modestly during their time there so they respect the local culture. Responding to her dress, one fan quipped on FaceBook: "I didn't realise in Dubai you could walk around like that I always thought Dubai had a strict clothes policy. I must have got that wrong !" Meanwhile, another fumed: "You'd be arrested for wearing that in dubai." And a third added: "That outfit is totally disrespectful!! She is totally underdressed. Respect the country you're in." A fifth also claimed she was risking arrest, writing: "She'll be arrested going out in dubai dressed like that!!" And another agreed, musing: "Don't think that's appropriate for Dubai could end up in jail." Her trip came just days after she was papped on another sun-kissed holiday, partying in Ibiza. The mum-of-five was spotted alongside perennial partyer, Wayne Lineker. as they soaked up the Spanish sun on the island. Katie had been due to attend Glasgow Pride on Saturday, July 19, but backed out of the event due to "another urgent obligation." The Free to Love star was slated to appear alongside headliners Miriana Conte, Subwoolfer, Kelly Llorenna and Karen Dunbar at the bash. But she decided against making the trip to Scotland for an as yet undisclosed reason. An announcement shared on the Glasgow Pride Instagram account on confirmed that Katie was no longer going to be attending the event, as organisers wrote, "Unfortunately, Katie Price is not able to attend Glasgow's Pride 2025 due to another urgent obligation. But we do have a message for those who attend Pride!" Fans, however, were not impressed and took to the comments section of the post to share their dismay. One wrote, "Oh I'm not going now, Katie price isn't there," as a second questioned: "Where is Katie?"

See 6 pictures from this year's Glasgow Pride march
Despite weather warnings, the country's largest city was awash with vibrant colour as attendees marched from Kelvingrove to the Barrowlands, where a free festival was held afterwards. Amongst the marchers was Still Game's Greg Hemphill, as well as hosts Bev Lyons, Miss Bella Houston, Lee Cammy and Garry King. (Image: Craig McConnell/Catching Light Photography)One TikTok user posted a clip of Hemphill waving a pride flag with an audio from an infamous episode of Still Game, where Isa says "Jack and Victor are gay, I saw it with my own eyes". Though Katie Price, one of the main acts who was set to perform at the event, pulled out at the last minute, entertainment included comedian Karen Dunbar, Eurovision acts including Subwoolfer and Miriana Conte, as well as dance musician Kelly Llorenna. (Image: Craig McConnell/Catching Light Photography) Amid a scaling back of transgender rights, attendees still marched with pride despite comments from Kate Barker, chief executive of LGB Alliance, who said Pride had "become hijacked by gender identity ideology". (Image: Craig McConnell/Catching Light Photography)With Pride having started as a political protest, that spirit was still alive in Glasgow as marchers showed solidarity with Palestinians (above). In May, a row broke out over Glasgow Pride working with organisations such as JP Morgan Chase, who have a presence in Israel. Campaign group No Pride In Genocide criticised the move whilst urging Glasgow Pride to express "solidarity" with the "most marginalised in our community, with a focus on trans rights". In response, the company highlighted that Saturday's event had "no sponsors", that it 'actively support[s]' trans people and said it would 'fight for their safety and rights". (Image: Craig McConnell/Catching Light Photography) This year's march had a number of high-profile corporate partners, including First Bus (pictured above), Tesco, Sky and Auchentoshan Distillery. (Image: Craig McConnell/Catching Light Photography) Amongst the marchers were several dogs bedecked in rainbow pet garments, ranging in size from dachshunds (above) to German shepherds (below).
