Selena Gomez's plunging dress is absolutely dripping with crystals at the 2025 BAFTAs

Yahoo16-02-2025

Selena Gomez just arrived at the 2025 BAFTAs in one of her best award season looks yet. We know, that's a pretty big statement, especially after we drooled over the stunning powder blue Prada gown she wore to the 2025 Golden Globes at the beginning of the year. If that look was giving elegant and sophisticated, Sel decided to mix it up for this year's BAFTAs, instead opting for maximum sparkle and sexiness.
Okay, okay, enough teasing from us. Selena, who is one of the nominees at this year's awards (more on that below!), arrived on the red carpet wearing a silver halter neck gown absolutely *dripping* with crystals. The plunging scoop-neck design was entirely embellished with sparkling beads and was layered over the top of an equally plunging black velvet off-the-shoulder bodice.
She accessorized her 'fit with diamonds (what else?) from Tiffany & Co. with her earrings, rings and cuff bangles adding even more glitter to her attire. Simple black pointed-toe pumps peeked out from beneath the hem of her floor-grazing dress.
Sel is nominated for a Best Supporting Actress BAFTA along with her co-star Zoe Saldaña for Emilia Pérez, Ariana Grande for Wicked, Felicity Jones for The Brutalist, Jamie Lee Curtis for The Last Showgirl and Isabella Rossellini for Conclave. The pop star and actress is also presenting an award at the show.
The multi-hyphenate's BAFTAs appearance comes just days after she and her fiancé Benny Blanco released the first song, 'Scared of Loving You,' off their new album. As if we couldn't be more obsessed with these two.

Shameless star and Everton manager to be honoured at Windsor Castle

Bafta-winning Shameless actor Anne-Marie Duff and Everton manager David Moyes will be honoured by the Prince of Wales at a ceremony at Windsor Castle on Wednesday. The pair will both be formally made Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) for services to drama and Association Football respectively. They were named in the New Year Honours list. In 2024, Ms Duff, 54, won a best supporting actress Bafta for her lead role as Grace Williams in Apple TV's comedy series Bad Sisters. She also secured awards for playing eldest daughter Fiona Gallagher in Channel 4's Bafta-winning show Shameless. The comedy drama followed a dysfunctional working-class family living on the fictional Chatsworth council estate in Manchester with an alcoholic father. Former Celtic and Preston centre-back player Mr Moyes, 62, went on to manage Manchester United and West Ham. The Glaswegian managed Everton from 2002 to 2013 and returned to the job this year. Chief executive of fashion giant Chanel, Leena Nair, 55, will also be made a Commander of the Order of the British Empire (CBE). The British-Indian national became the first female, first Asian, and youngest ever chief human resources officer at consumer goods multinational Unilever. A museum manager on the remote South Atlantic island of South Georgia will be awarded the Polar Medal for her work. Sarah Lurcock is the director of the heritage trust on the subantarctic British overseas territory. It is around 800 miles (1,287km) south-east of the Falkland Islands and has no permanent residents. An artist from St Lucia, Sir Llewellyn Xavier, is to be formally knighted for services to community infrastructure and development on the island. England national team footballer Millie Bright was made an OBE for services to Association Football but will not now be attending Wednesday's ceremony. The Chelsea defender underwent minor knee surgery last week, the day after she withdrew from the European Championship selection.

Bryan Cranston Raves About Daughter Taylor Dearden's Performance on 'The Pitt': I'm 'Over the Moon'

Bryan Cranston said there's "nothing" better than hearing praise for his daughter Taylor Dearden's star turn on The Pitt The Breaking Bad alum also revealed if he, as an award-winning actor, has given Dearden any advice Dearden plays Dr. Melissa "Mel" King on the hit medical drama, which has already been renewed for a second seasonBryan Cranston is one proud dad. The Breaking Bad actor, 69, can't help but boast about his 32-year-old daughter Taylor Dearden's breakthrough performance as Dr. Melissa "Mel" King on The Pitt. "There is nothing that's more gratifying than when your kid receives praise. Nothing," Cranston told the Associated Press of what he and longtime wife Robin Dearden, a fellow actor, think of their daughter's latest role. "No one can say anything to me that's better than that." "Her mom and I are just over the moon with her work on it," he added. "She's a very hard-working person. She grew up in it, so it's in her bones," Cranston gushed about Dearden's passion. "She's in it for the right reasons and she loves it." Having a dad who has won six Emmys, two Golden Globes and two Tonys — just to name a few of his accolades — is surely a boon for Dearden, but Cranston said he's not one to overbearingly offer tips. "Now, as far as advice, I think she picks up it because I'm her dad," he said. "She picks up advice hopefully by the way I behave in this business and navigate my way through." He added, "But I don't ever say, 'Now, young lady, here's some advice I wanna give you.' Kids don't wanna hear that." Dearden made her acting debut in a 2010 episode of Breaking Bad alongside her dad. She then went on to star on the MTV series Sweet/Vicious as Ophelia opposite Eliza Bennett's Jules. The show only aired for one season between 2016 and 2017. Elsewhere on TV, she has starred on season 2 of Netflix's American Vandal in 2018 and had a stint on Apple TV+'s For All Mankind before finding her way to The Pitt. In film, Dearden most notably starred in 2017's Heartthrob and 2020's The Last Champion. Dearden plays Dr. Melissa King on The Pitt, though most of her colleagues at Pittsburgh Trauma Medical Hospital call her Mel. Dr. King, a second-year resident, works closely alongside doctors like Dr. Frank Langdon (Patrick Ball) and Dr. Michael "Robby" Robinavitch (Noah Wyle) and looks after her autistic twin sister, Becca. Also in the cast are Tracey Ifeachor (Dr. Collins), Katherine LaNasa (Dana Evans), Supriya Ganesh (Dr. Mohan), Fiona Dourif (Dr. McKay), Isa Briones (Dr. Santos), Gerran Howell (Whitaker) and Shabana Azeez (Javadi). The Pitt, which wrapped its lauded first season on Max in April, has already been renewed for a second season. In the meantime, season 1 can be streamed in full on Max. Pop superstar Robbie Williams surprised fans at the first of his two Manchester Co-op Live gigs by bringing out a surprise star guest. On Tuesday night in Manchester, it was another X Factor star who joined Robbie for Relight My Fire. For Robbie announced to the crowds to huge cheers that Lucy Spraggan was joining him to sing. He had earlier brought out Thom Rylance from Wigan's own The Lottery Winners, who played as the support at the start of the night, to perform a selection of acoustic versions of his biggest hits. And Thom remained on stage to play as Lucy joined the duo. Wearing a black leatherette suit, Lucy delighted the crowd singing along to the Take That chart-topper alongside Robbie. The pals embraced at the end of the song, as Robbie said: "Show her the love she deserves." Lucy appeared in The X Factor back in 2012 and has gone on to enjoy chart success as a solo artist. Meanwhile The Lottery Winners frontman Thom had earlier hailed the gig "the best night of my life" after playing the support slot at the sold out Co-op Live arena. When he rejoined Robbie on stage during the "C stage" section of the show, the two singers bantered about what their double act would be called, settling on "The Balls". Robbie returns to Co-op Live for the second of his two shows on Wednesday night.
