Former NFL Star Antonio Brown Reportedly Wanted on Attempted Murder Charge in Miami

Former NFL star Antonio Brown is reportedly wanted in Miami on an attempted murder charge stemming from a shooting in May Brown's bond is listed at $10,000, according to documents obtained by the Washington Post After the incident, Brown claimed on X that he was "jumped by multiple individuals" who wanted to steal his jewelryAuthorities in Miami have issued an arrest warrant for former NFL star Antonio Brown on a charge of attempted murder, according to documents obtained by the Washington Post. The warrant for Brown, 36, was reportedly signed by a judge on Wednesday, June 11 in Miami-Dade County, stemming from a shooting in May during a celebrity boxing match. The warrant reportedly lists a charge of attempted murder with a firearm. Brown's bond is listed at $10,000 and requires him to remain under house arrest until a pending trial, the outlet reported. Brown's agent did not immediately return PEOPLE's request for comment. The shooting happened on Saturday, May 16 around 3 a.m. local time after a boxing event hosted by streamer Adin Ross. Video footage from the evening captured by witnesses shows the retired wide receiver throwing punches during an altercation with multiple people. In one moment from the scuffle, Brown can be seen falling over alongside a security guard who he proceeded to kick. A person can be heard telling Brown that the man is a security guard in the video footage. The alleged shooting happened when Brown and others moved to an alley nearby. Video footage shows Brown running toward a group of people, holding something in his hand, seconds before a loud sound resembling gun shots is heard and the crowd fled. It is not clear who fired the shots in the video. In other angles of the incident, bystanders reacted. 'Oh my God, he has a gun,' one individual said in a clip seconds before the assumed gunshots were heard. Brown was seen in handcuffs after the incident, but Miami Police confirmed that no arrests were made that evening. According to the Washington Post, the warrant for Brown signed on Wednesday says patrons at the scene told officers the former NFL star was the one who fired the shots. The warrant also reportedly says Brown had no weapon on him when officers patted him down at the scene, but "two spent shell casings and an empty gun holster" were discovered by investigators. Brown addressed the incident on Ross' Kick livestream and on X, claiming he had been "jumped by multiple individuals" at the event and suffered from CTE. 'I got CTE, I blacked out,' he said on the stream. 'I blacked out, Adin. I don't know what happened." In a May 17 statement on X, Brown wrote, "Regarding the boxing event that happened last night. I was jumped by multiple individuals who tried to steal my jewelry and cause physical harm to me. Contrary to some video circulating, Police temporarily detained me until they received my side of the story and then released me. I WENT HOME THAT NIGHT AND WAS NOT ARRESTED." He added that he will consult his legal council and attorneys "on pressing charges on the individuals that jumped me" and promised to keep his followers "posted step-by-step on the process."
