After the incident, Brown claimed on X that he was "jumped by multiple individuals" who wanted to steal his jewelryAuthorities in Miami have issued an arrest warrant for former NFL star Antonio Brown on a charge of attempted murder, according to documents obtained by the Washington Post.
The warrant for Brown, 36, was reportedly signed by a judge on Wednesday, June 11 in Miami-Dade County, stemming from a shooting in May during a celebrity boxing match.
The warrant reportedly lists a charge of attempted murder with a firearm. Brown's bond is listed at $10,000 and requires him to remain under house arrest until a pending trial, the outlet reported.
Brown's agent did not immediately return PEOPLE's request for comment.
The shooting happened on Saturday, May 16 around 3 a.m. local time after a boxing event hosted by streamer Adin Ross. Video footage from the evening captured by witnesses shows the retired wide receiver throwing punches during an altercation with multiple people. In one moment from the scuffle, Brown can be seen falling over alongside a security guard who he proceeded to kick.
A person can be heard telling Brown that the man is a security guard in the video footage.
The alleged shooting happened when Brown and others moved to an alley nearby. Video footage shows Brown running toward a group of people, holding something in his hand, seconds before a loud sound resembling gun shots is heard and the crowd fled. It is not clear who fired the shots in the video.
In other angles of the incident, bystanders reacted. 'Oh my God, he has a gun,' one individual said in a clip seconds before the assumed gunshots were heard. Brown was seen in handcuffs after the incident, but Miami Police confirmed that no arrests were made that evening.
According to the Washington Post, the warrant for Brown signed on Wednesday says patrons at the scene told officers the former NFL star was the one who fired the shots. The warrant also reportedly says Brown had no weapon on him when officers patted him down at the scene, but "two spent shell casings and an empty gun holster" were discovered by investigators.
Brown addressed the incident on Ross' Kick livestream and on X, claiming he had been "jumped by multiple individuals" at the event and suffered from CTE.
'I got CTE, I blacked out,' he said on the stream. 'I blacked out, Adin. I don't know what happened."

Contrary to some video circulating, Police temporarily detained me until they received my side of the story and then released me. I WENT HOME THAT NIGHT AND WAS NOT ARRESTED."
He added that he will consult his legal council and attorneys "on pressing charges on the individuals that jumped me" and promised to keep his followers "posted step-by-step on the process."

Boy, 16, fired shots at teen he planned to fight to feel ‘like Superman': Polk deputies
POLK COUNTY, Fla. (WFLA) — A 16-year-old boy was charged with attempted first-degree murder after Polk County deputies said he ambushed a 19-year-old man he planned to fight by firing shots at him and his car. The Polk County Sheriff's Office said the investigation began on April 2 when deputies received a call from True Roofers on North Frontage Road after employees arrived at work and found spent shell casings on the ground. According to investigators, security footage showed an 'unidentified man' approach a silver Chevrolet Malibu and shoot at it several times until the car fled. The suspect was seen running away shortly after. Detectives later revealed that the Malibu driver was a 19-year-old man from Lakeland. Former Bucs receiver Antonio Brown wanted for attempted murder: report On April 9, deputies said they pulled the Malibu driver over for a traffic stop and interviewed him Deputies said the 19-year-old 'lied and said his car was shot when it was parked at his home while he was sleeping. He made several inconsistent statements regarding why his car had so many gunshots.' After being told about the security video, investigators said the man admitted to being at True Roofers when the shooting happened. 'He told detectives that he arrived in the area to fight with someone with whom he had been texting back and forth,' the sheriff's office said in a news release. However, the teen would not tell detectives who the shooter was. Deputies obtained search warrants for the Malibu and the 19-year-old's phone and social media accounts. Detectives said they determined that the 19-year-old was en route to a 16-year-old's house on the date of the shooting, but diverted due to the presence of law enforcement.' The victim went to True Roofers and told the 16-year-old to meet him there, the sheriff's office said. Detectives said they found an Instagram group message thread in the 19-year-old's phone that showed that he reported to others that he saw law enforcement officers on a traffic stop in the area of the 16-year-old's home, which is near True Roofers. 'He sent a photo of the fence around the back of the business and told the others he would 'jump it.' He was also seen on the business' video surveillance peering over the fence,' the sheriff's office said. Investigators said other phones and video within the Instagram chat showed the 16-year-old's house. At one point, someone said 'shoot the crib,' referring to the 16-year-old's house, deputies said. The 16-year-old was positively identified as one of the Instagram users with the group chat, and by witnesses who were shown the video surveillance of the shooting. In an affidavit, deputies said the 16-year-old was a 'juvenile delinquent' who was on conditional release stemming from a carjacking conviction. Detectives said they went to the 16-year-old's home and took him into custody on a warrant. During a search of his home, investigators said they found a loaded Glock model 19 9mm handgun with an extended magazine containing 28 rounds, modified with a 'switch.' The sheriff's office said it was illegally altered to be fired in a fully automatic fashion. The 16-year-old admitted to owning the gun, ordering the switch online and installing it himself, telling detectives that when shooting it, he 'felt like Superman,' the sheriff's office said. 'I am so proud of my detectives, who left no stone unturned until this case was solved and the suspect was appropriately charged. This violent teenaged suspect, who has already been convicted of a felony, played a very dangerous game so he could 'feel like Superman.' If he's Superman, then my detectives are his Kryptonite,' Sheriff Grady Judd said. Copyright 2025 Nexstar Media, Inc. All rights reserved.
