It's mid-June and OTAs and minicamps are coming to a close as teams will head into a break before training camps open in more than a month.

The Kansas City Chiefs have had one of the best tight ends in the NFL for about a decade in Travis Kelce, but that time may be coming to an end very soon. Advertisement After a disappointing season in 2024, many believe that this will be the Chiefs superstar's final season in the league. But accord to multiple reports, Kelce has lost some weight, and ESPN's Jeremy Fowler thinks he is slimming up for one "last dance". "He's told people close to him that he's lost about 25 pounds this offseason. (He) played a little heavier in 2024, it was sort of a thing, he vowed to change it, and he has," Fowler said on SportsCenter. "He's trying to be slimmer and has gone hardcore this offseason to make it work in what could be his final season." Kelce's yards after catch numbers were down this past season as a result of his bigger frame, so he will be hoping losing that weight will help him a bit in that area. The 35-year-old tight end finished this past season with 823 receiving yards and three touchdowns, both of which are the lowest marks in his career as the Chiefs' starter. The 2024 season was also the second season in a row that he had less than 1,000 yards after seven straight years meeting that total. Advertisement Kelce is one of the best players in Kansas City's rich history, but fans have to accept that he does not have much time left in the league. But he will be looking to make his impact felt in the time he has left. We are at the stage of the offseason where OTAs and minicamps have taken place, and it is a hard period to truly judge offensive line play, with the Kansas City Chiefs a big watch here. Advertisement Given that teams are unable to practice with physicality due to the NFL CBA, offensive linemen are often going against air, so we won't truly know what the Chiefs have in Jaylon Moore and rookie left tackle Josh Simmons until training camp. But the line itself, for some, still has some uncertainty around it, with Patrick Mahomes' left side completely new, and that will take time to mesh. However, while some are skeptical of the offensive line as a whole, Sports Illustrated's Conor Orr is rather bullish on what general manager Brett Veach was able to do this offseason. "I think what Kansas City did was smart," Orr said. "You got Josh Simmons, but you back-stopped that with Jaylon Moore. And all of a sudden, even though you lose Joe Thuney, this doesn't look as crazy as it used to. There seems to be some sort of there there." Plus, we haven't spoken of Kingsley Suamataia moving inside to left guard from tackle. Advertisement That is another element to consider. After Mahomes was sacked a career-high 36 times last season, are the new additions to his protection enough to adequately keep him upright? Right now, that is unknown, but Orr seems confident that Moore, who is a career backup, and Simmons, when he gets healthy, can be solid players in front of Patrick. Granted, this is all a projection; with training camp, we will get a definitive look at how the front five will mesh together. Are the Chiefs "smart" for their business regarding the offensive line additions? We'll let the cake bake on that one.
