Arizona Cardinals Year 2 player outlook: OL Isaiah Adams A look 2024 at third-round pick Isaiah Adams and his second-year outlook in 2025
The Arizona Cardinals drafted 12 players in 2024. Some of them had contributions as rookies. Some will have greater roles in 2025. Others will have to battle for the roster.
They selected guard Isaiah Adams in the third round with the 71st overall pick.
Entering Year 2 in the NFL, let's have a look at his 2025 outlook.
OL Isaiah Adams' 2024 season
Adams began the season as the team's primary backup guard with Trystan Colon as the backup center.
Starting in Week 6, after starting right guard Will Hernandez tore his ACL and was lost for the season, he remained a backup as Colon took over for Hernandez, but the Cardinals rotated Adams in for a couple of series a game.
He took over the starting right guard job for the final five games of the year, logging every single snap in those five games.
Isaiah Adams' Year 2 outlook for 2025
Adams worked throughout the offseason program with the first-team offensive line. He is in line to be the starting right guard from Week 1.
He is stronger entering his second season and hopefully will be better than he was last year.

Report: Why Adam Schefter Was 'Banned' From Pat McAfee Show
Report: Why Adam Schefter Was 'Banned' From Pat McAfee Show originally appeared on Athlon Sports. Over the past couple of years, The Pat McAfee Show has exploded in popularity on the ESPN networks, turning into one of the flagship morning talk shows on the network with an ability to land guests spanning from Aaron Rodgers and LeBron James to Tom Cruise and Bill Burr. Advertisement It appears, according to a recent report, though, that one of the top recurring guests for McAfee is no longer going to be coming on the show, by the choice of the host. According to The Athletic's Andrew Marchand, McAfee has "essentially banned ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter from his program since March." Schefter hasn't been on the program since that month. "One afternoon, McAfee wanted Schefter on his program," Marchand reports. "Schefter was appearing on an ESPN2 free agency special and was unable to make it. Schefter, formerly a McAfee Show regular, has been banished ever since." © MICHAEL CLUBB/SOUTH BEND TRIBUNE / USA TODAY NETWORK via Imagn Images In the meantime, NFL Network's Ian Rapoport and ESPN's newest NFL addition, Peter Schrager, have become regulars on the show. Advertisement After pressed on the reported ban, Schefter's camp reportedly told The Athletic that he would be returning to the show in the near future after over a month-long hiatus. Whether there is actual bad blood between the host and the renowned NFL reporter is unclear, but for a long while it was apparent that the two were not on the same page with things, and the viewer ended up losing out. Hopefully the two are able to rekindle things and get Schefter back on the airwaves consistently going forward as we prepare for the upcoming NFL season. Steelers HC Mike Tomlin is unfireable no matter what in 2025
Steelers HC Mike Tomlin is unfireable no matter what in 2025 For many, many seasons, the Pittsburgh Steelers fanbase has been divided on head coach Mike Tomlin. Many fans consider him a future Hall of Famer and one of the elite coaches in the NFL. There is another significant portion of the fanbase who think Tomlin is what is keeping this season from winning a Super Bowl and always will be until he's fired. The reality probably falls somewhere in between. Nevertheless, it doesn't matter what the fans think; it only matters what the Steelers ownership thinks of Tomlin and history says they are happy with him and the job he's doing in Pittsburgh. This is a sentiment shared by Steelers beat writer Ray Fittipaldo. He appeared on the Rothman and Ice podcast and made it clear that Tomlin's job is absolutely safe at least through 2025. "[Tomlin is] as safe as can be because he's in the first year of a three-year contract that is paying him $50 million," Fittipaldo said. "Unless something goes terribly wrong and they go 3 and 14, or something like that - which I don't totally expect - you're not going to hear anything about Mike Tomlin." We have long said that Tomlin is unfireable and the Steelers will give him all the room he needs, no matter what the team's record. Tomlin has never had a season under .500 since taking over the head coaching job in Pittsburgh but even if the team were to backslide for a season or two, the Rooneys aren't going to just give up on him.

Former Texas Standout Inks New Extension With Pittsburgh Steelers
Former Texas Standout Inks New Extension With Pittsburgh Steelers originally appeared on Athlon Sports. The Pittsburgh Steelers took care of some business on Monday night. According to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero, the Steelers signed strong safety DeShon Elliott to a two-year, $12.5 million extension. The deal includes $9.21 million guaranteed. Elliott was a great find by the Steelers in 2024 and paired nicely with free safety Minkah Fitzpatrick. Elliott finished the season with 108 total tackles, two forced fumbles, three fumble recoveries, an interception, and six passes defended. Advertisement Before signing with the Steelers, he spent one season with the Miami Dolphins, one with the Detroit Lions, and three with the Baltimore Ravens. The Ravens drafted him in the sixth round of the 2018 NFL Draft out of Texas. Elliott played at Texas from 2015-17 and appeared in 30 games, compiling 106 tackles, nine interceptions, 14 passes defended, four forced fumbles, and 2.5 sacks. Six of those interceptions came during his junior season in 2017. He has found a stable home with the Steelers and will look to repeat his success from 2024 when the 2025 season starts in September. The Steelers made the playoffs for the second-straight season last year but failed to win a playoff game, losing to the Baltimore Ravens in the wild-card round. They have made the playoffs in four of the last five seasons but haven't won a playoff game since the 2016 season. Advertisement Elliott will try to help the Steelers break that streak this upcoming season.
