Leverkusen in the race for Laureus Sport award
The annual award ceremony honors individuals and teams from the world of sport. Bayern Munich won 'Team of the Year' twice thanks to their treble-winning seasons. The German national team also won the accolade in 2015 for winning the World Cup the previous year.
Leverkusen is the only team on the list of nominees for 'Breakthrough of the Year'. Lamine Yamal will be the favorite after his splendid campaign with Spain and Barcelona, while Victor Wembanyama also made the list following his debut season in the NBA with the San Antonio Spurs.
The remaining three nomination places are taken by Olympic gold medalists Letsile Tebogo (200m), Julien Alfred (100m) and Summer McIntosh (200m butterfly, swimming). The voting process will involve Laureus World Sports Academy's ambassadors. The winners of the 25th Laureus Sport award will be announced in Madrid on April 21.

Bayer Leverkusen keen to sign Jonathan Clauss from Nice
Bayer Leverkusen are keen to sign France international right-back Jonathan Clauss (32) from OGC Nice, according to Foot Mercato. The former Lens and Marseille fullback was reportedly the subject of serious interest from a still-unnamed club, and the latter is actually Erik ten Hag's Werkself. Clauss, who has earned 14 caps and scored twice for Les Bleus, only joined Nice last summer after leaving Olympique de Marseille. Clauss was reunited with Franck Haise, who he played under previously at Racing Club de Lens where the Sang & Or made a second-placed finish in Ligue 1 and qualified for the UEFA Champions League. The Frenchman has entered the final months of his OGC Nice contract. Foot Mercato understands that Clauss is currently reviewing his options. Serie A giants Milan can close their move for Bayer Leverkusen striker Victor Boniface as early as tomorrow.
