All The Coolest Cars From The Ten Tenths Motor Club's Heritage Invitational Car Show

Yahoo07-04-2025

The Ten Tenths Motor Club officially opened over the weekend, with a new track and clubhouse close to Charlotte Motor Speedway. At the opening there was a little Trans-Am racing and the Heritage Invitational, a car show featuring a lineup of some seriously rare, incredibly valuable vehicles. Allegedly, the cars on display were worth a collective $500 million, and I fully believe it. Not only did they have one of the first Mercedes-AMG Ones in the U.S. on display — they had two. And that's before you even get to the vintage Ferraris.
The timing was almost too on the nose. A bunch of mega-millionaires showing off their toys, likely not even aware of the millions of people protesting in cities across the country over the damage done by the same politicians those owners had put in power. Will there be another Heritage Invitational next year? Maybe, but on the other hand, maybe not. Still, the cars themselves didn't do anything wrong, and I was already there, so let's take a look at some of the coolest cars they had on display, as well as the Hennessey Venom F5.

You know it's going to be an interesting show when an off-road Porsche 911 is one of the most normal cars on display.
This RUF looked and sounded absolutely incredible.
This or the Chevrolet Corvette ZR1?
If you're going to get a yellow Lamborghini, at least get one people can see you in.
Really, if you're going to get any Lamborghini, it should be a roadster.
The rules are simple: If you see Lamborghini Countach, you photograph the Countach.
OK, if you buy an Espada, you're allowed to get a Lamborghini with a roof.
Sure, it's just a 911, but it's one of only 77 911 GT3 R Rennsports ever built.
The Mercedes-AMG One, everybody.
For some reason, I was not allowed to drive either AMG One they had at this show.
No one ever said the LaFerrari was pretty, but it sure is quick.
The car is hideous, but at least it has a naturally aspirated V12?
It's hard to explain just how low the Miura sits if you aren't standing right next to it.
Should've sprung for the Roadster, but I guess when only 19 were ever built, it can be hard to get an allocation for one.
More Ferraris should be two-tone.
Tell me the lions where the headlights should be aren't ridiculously cool.
I'm not sure there could possibly be a cooler way to go out than behind the wheel of a 917K.
It wasn't all that long ago that 206 horsepower was enough for a serious performance car. Now, you get more power from a Toyota Prius Plug-In Hybrid.
Allegedly, we could have had a new version of the M1, but we instead got the XM. Clearly, BMW made the right call.
British roadsters can be a nightmare to keep running, but I've always had a soft spot for these Healeys.
It's no Isetta, but everyone loves a good Iso.
You know there's a lot of money at a car show when including every single Ferrari 250 GT you saw would get repetitive.
It really does look awkward from every single angle, but at least the paint looked nice.
I was just happy to see a Shelby Mustang that wasn't an Eleanor.
Officially, there were zero bodies in the trunk, but I'm not sure I believe that.
I know the Senna's door window is controversial, but I just love the way these things look.
I did see this F5 move under its own power at one point, so I will give it that.

BMW Will Start Hiking Prices In July

Most of BMW's lineup is about to get more expensive for 2026. The automaker recently informed dealers that prices for many of its models would increase by 1.9 percent starting July 1, and customers could pay as much as $2,500 more than before on certain cars. Buyers interested in the X5M or X6M Competition , for example, will pay that $2,500 premium, according to a dealer bulletin obtained by Cars Direct . Prices for the 4 Series Coupe and Z4 will also increase by $1,100. Photo by: BMW However, the increase does not affect the pricing of BMW's electric vehicles, the M2, or the 2 Series. BMW made mid-year price changes on those two models in April, with customers paying as much as $2,750 more than before, depending on the trim. We may have gotten a glimpse of the coming price increases last week when a leaked pricing guide revealed the 2026 M3 would cost $1,700 more than before . It now starts at $79,575, and we all know everyone will pay well over that for this car. The 2026 M3 Competition is $83,775 to start. Thanks, Tariffs: No More Price Protection In March, BMW told The Wall Street Journal that it would ' price protect ' the 2 Series and 3 Series it imports into the United States. The automaker announced this as US President Donald Trump's on-again, off-again tariffs sowed confusion in the industry. A tariff on all vehicles imported into the country went into effect in April, and BMW only promised to keep prices the same through that month, and we're well past that. However, the bulletin announcing the pricing changes makes no mention of those tariffs. Instead, it says the price increases account for "inflation and enhancements to standard equipment where applicable." Photo by: BMW Automakers are still trying to navigate the current tariff situation and deploying a range of solutions to mitigate any extra costs. Volkswagen announced that it would keep prices unchanged through the end of June, while Volvo said it would likely have to pass some of those added costs on to consumers . General Motors won't raise prices for now, while Ford has had to raise the price of the Maverick that it imports from Mexico. Tariffs could even increase the cost of Hot Wheels in the United States. It's not uncommon for automakers to adjust prices going into a new model year, and a 1.9 percent increase isn't outside the norm. However, it comes at a challenging time for the industry as prices remain high for consumers. 'Waiting for Britney Spears': 5 shocking (allegedly true) stories from a former tabloid writer

In his new book, "Waiting for Britney Spears: A True Story, Allegedly" — a mix of fact and fiction — music writer and L.A. native Jeff Weiss brings us back to the last gasp of the celebrity gossip-mongering machine of the early aughts. It was the prelapsarian age of the dumb phone, when we weren't all taking photos of everything all the time and paparazzi were commanding six figures for shots of Angelina Jolie's baby bump. Fresh out of college and dreaming of Pulitzer glory, Weiss instead takes a job with Star magazine — called Nova in the book — to pay his rent and winds up being present during ugly episodes of the celebrity stalking era: Britney Spears' meteoric rise and career lows in the early 2000s, a few years before her personal and business affairs were placed under a court-ordered conservatorship controlled by her father, Jamie. Weiss bears witness to this particularly gruesome episode with clenched teeth, filing dispatches for rent money alongside photographer Mel Bouzad (referred to as Oliver Bournemouth in the book), who acts as his Virgil, smoothing the writer's way through Hollywood's red velvet ropes. Weiss in short order is engulfed by Spears' world until it becomes his organizing principle. The writer becomes an unrepentant co-conspirator in the plot to knock down Spears, one breaking news item at a time. "We wanted more and more, until she had no energy left to resist and no place left to hide," writes Weiss. Here are some of the most shocking stories from the book. Read more: Britney Spears' highs and lows — a timeline from 'The Mickey Mouse Club' to her tell-all memoir As a cub reporter in 2004, Weiss gets a hot tip about Spears' wedding to Kevin Federline at the Studio City home of a Spears confidant. Accompanied by Bouzad, Weiss scouts a neighboring house and pays off its owner in order to witness the nuptials next door. 'An hour before the ceremony, the bridegroom swaggers in in his white undershirt,' Weiss writes. 'The groomsmen look like lost members of 98 Degrees, wearing squiggly goatees and gummy-worm braids.' After the reception, where Federline 'removes [Britney's] garter belt with his teeth,' the wedding party packs into black SUVs wearing monogrammed Juicy Couture sweatsuits: 'Britney's announces Mrs. Federline. His just reads, Hers.' Weiss' Britney beat is temporarily placed on hold so he can dig up information on Ben Affleck's budding relationship with actor Jennifer Garner. In search of the duo, Weiss drives to Affleck's Brentwood house. He's in luck: Affleck materializes and hops into his car, prompting Weiss to tail him. 'My wobbling, elephantine car is no match for his agile V12 Mercedes, but I somehow keep up,' he writes. But Affleck is onto Weiss and swerves across lanes of traffic along the 101 en route to the San Fernando Valley. Weiss is nearly side-swiped by a Range Rover, 'and suddenly, it's over. [Affleck's] car heads into the parking lot of Bob's Big Boy.' When the visibly shaken driver emerges from the Mercedes, it turns out to be Affleck's brother, Casey. On assignment for People magazine in 2005, Weiss attempts to sneak onto Brad Pitt's beachfront compound in Santa Barbara, hoping to grab some tasty morsels about the megastar's new relationship with Jolie. He has been tasked, alongside a two-paparazzi team, with monitoring Jolie's son's fourth birthday party. 'I'm on the verge of breaking open one of the decade's biggest stories,' he writes. 'For the last six months, you haven't been able to buy a Snickers at the supermarket without missing the all-caps headlines' about the love triangle between Pitt, Jolie and Jennifer Aniston. No sooner does Weiss climb a bluff and whip out his binoculars than he is surrounded by 'four goons' with Glocks tucked into their shorts. He is harassed and finally released, but not before Pitt appears. 'He shakes his head slowly, confidently, letting me know that I've lost.' The next day, Weiss himself becomes a tabloid story: In the U.K., the Daily Mail headline reads, "People Paparazzo Popped Trying to Snake Pitt." Weiss has his first 15 seconds of infamy. Read more: Britney Spears' 13-year conservatorship is done. Here's how we got here In 2007, Weiss and Bouzad chase Spears — recently divorced from Federline — to a nondescript hair salon in Tarzana. 'Shielded by her security, Britney scurries in like a frightened deer,' Weiss writes. From an open window, Weiss hears Spears tell the hairdresser, 'I want you to buzz my hair off.' When she refuses, Spears grabs the trimmer and clicks it on: 'The extensions are hacked into lifeless scraps … the stray hairs curl on the floor like writhing snakes.' Hours later, Spears' hair is auctioned on eBay. 'The bidding reaches $1 million before the online auction house removes the listing. The authenticity of the hair cannot be verified.' In her own memoir, 'The Woman in Me,' Spears explained the reason for the bold act. 'Shaving my head and acting out were my ways of pushing back,' Spears wrote. That same year, Spears attempts a musical comeback with a new album and series of one-off performances. Weiss nabs an exclusive interview with the pop star at a rented mansion in the Hollywood Hills. It doesn't go as planned. A disoriented and agitated Spears shows up late, rejects the pre-selected wardrobe choices for the photo shoot and locks herself in the bathroom. Finally, Weiss' moment arrives. Over lunch, 'Britney shrugs and summons me like she has something to confess.' Weiss is about to get his first face-to-face with Spears, but it's a false alarm: She thinks Weiss is a production assistant. 'She hands me her empty plate filled with bones and fat to throw away.'
