Notre Dame football commit shuts down recruitment, won't visit other schools
This era of college football has seen plenty of prospects flip their commitments, as Notre Dame football has been on both ends of the spectrum.
Fortunately, one of its most recent commitments, Georgia wide receiver Bubba Frazier recently told On3 that he's 'shutting it down,' and won't be entertaining other schools to try and flip him. The biggest player in this decision was the Georgia Bulldogs, as they have been trying to convince the 5-foot, 10-inch and 180-pound receiver to change his mind.
That won't be the case going forward, as the nation's No. 292 overall prospect according to the 247Sports Composite told Mike Singer that he's 'locked in with Notre Dame.' Frazier was seen as an important recruiting win for Notre Dame, going into a Southern state and pulling one of their best.
The Irish also have Dylan Faison committed and are heavy after NFL legend Larry Fitzgerald's son, Devin.

Nation's No. 14 edge rusher down to two SEC schools
Nation's No. 14 edge rusher down to two SEC schools Another elite recruit is close to committing to the Georgia Bulldogs. According to Hayes Fawcett, four-star edge rusher Khamari Brooks will choose between Alabama and Georgia. The elite pass rusher is canceling his official visits with Texas and USC. Brooks is a four-star edge rusher in the class of 2026. The 6-foot-4, 220-pound edge rusher plays high school football for North Oconee High School in Bogart, Georgia. He helped North Oconee win a state title in 2024. He visited Georgia on May 30 and Alabama on June 6. While he hasn't announced his commitment date yet, a decision is expected soon since he has already visited both schools. Brooks also attended junior day with the Bulldogs on Jan. 18. Georgia's 2026 class ranks fifth in the nation after another aggressive summer of recruiting. The Bulldogs' class features one five-star recruit, nine four-star recruits, and four three-star recruits. However, Georgia has not secured commitments from many defensive lineman, with only three-stars Carter Luckie and Seven Cloud, who shut down his recruitment, committed to the Bulldogs. Brooks is the No. 14 edge rusher and No. 112 prospect in the nation. Follow UGAWire on Instagram!

Joe Theismann praises Notre Dame's future after loss to Chiefs' Josh Simmons' alma mater
Joe Theismann praises Notre Dame's future after loss to Chiefs' Josh Simmons' alma mater This week, Chiefs Wire's Ed Easton Jr. spoke to Washington Commanders and NFL legend Joe Theismann about his participation in this year's American Century Championship, which will take place July 9-13 at Edgewood Tahoe, and his thoughts on Notre Dame's promising future after falling short in the National Championship game against Kansas City Chiefs rookie Josh Simmons' Ohio State Buckeyes. "I like competing against Jerry Rice, you know; I felt like my game was a little bit like Jerry's, and I'm a little bit older, So my game is not quite where it is, but he's one I enjoy competing against it." said Theismann, "Ryan Fitzpatrick has been there, and we've had so many different guys I've played. Jerome Bettis is there, and Timmy (Tim) Brown is there. They're younger and hit the ball much further right now. So, I'm working on my game. I'm working on my short game; that's what I'm doing. It's all about the short game and making putts. That's what I'm working on." Theisman was a Notre Dame legend, earning College Football Hall of Fame honors during his time at the university. He praised the progress of his alma mater, which came close to a national title, as Ohio State defeated them without Simmons, who was recovering from a torn patellar tendon earlier in the season. "I'm impressed more than just happy. I think Marcus (Freeman) has done a terrific job establishing a culture. And keep in mind, we've done this with three different quarterbacks. I mean, he finally has somebody," said Theismann, "CJ Carr, I'm assuming, possibly the starting quarterback. He's one of the few people who's been on the roster for a year or so, so there's a much greater familiarity for Mike Denbrock, our offensive coordinator, to be able to work with over the last couple of years we've brought different guys in, and now it's an opportunity to be able to have someone that's been there understand the system and the philosophy. Still, Marcus has done a fabulous job for us at the university." The annual tournament awards $750,000 in prize money, much of which the celebrity players donate to local and national charities. Over the years, nearly $8 million has been donated to non-profit causes. Network television exposure on NBC and a first-place prize of $150,000 make the celebrity tournament one of the most prestigious in the golf world.
