Jaire Alexander joins Lamar Jackson on Ravens after viral 2018 draft moment goes trending again

Jaire Alexander joins Lamar Jackson on Ravens after viral 2018 draft moment goes trending again (Image via Getty) There are some moments in sports that fans never forget - not because of a big play or game-winning touchdown, but because of how authentic and genuine they are. One such moment years ago during the NFL Draft is now going viral again in 2025, and for a very sweet reason. Something big just happened in the NFL, and it brings back that old clip in the best way. Jaire Alexander paused his own draft night to celebrate Lamar Jackson 's big moment in 2018 To commemorate Lamar Jackson's great year in 2018, Jaire Alexander stopped his own draft night. On April 26, 2018, Green Bay Packers had just selected cornerback Jaire Alexander in the first round of the NFL Draft. Jaire Alexander first met the media as an NFL player during an interview at Arlington, Texas' ATandT Stadium. He was responding to press questions when he saw something on a nearby television. Just chosen by the Baltimore Ravens with the 32nd overall pick, Lamar Jackson—his close friend and former University of Louisville colleague—was waiting. The moment caught Jaire's eye instantly. He stopped speaking, clapped his hands, smiled wide, and shouted 'Let's go, Lamar!' in front of everyone at the press table. It didn't matter that it was his press event. Jaire immediately showed his friend love and joy. Captured on camera, that event quickly spread virally across sports media and social media. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Switch to UnionBank Rewards Card UnionBank Credit Card Apply Now Undo Fans, athletes, and journalists referred to it as "heartwarming," "emotional," and "real. " For someone he loved, it was genuine happiness not cameras or attention. At Louisville, the two players had shared a strong bond. Jaire was known for being a vocal leader on defense, while Lamar led the team with his electric plays at quarterback. That night in Texas, it was clear their connection went far beyond the field. Jaire Alexander and Lamar Jackson will now play together on the same NFL team That emotional encounter is now far more important seven years later. Officially signed by the Baltimore Ravens on June 17, 2025, was Jaire Alexander. Having played seven seasons with the Green Bay Packers, he now teams in Baltimore with his former college roommate, Lamar Jackson. Team press release and cross posting over all Ravens' social media sites spread the news. Govt college faculty sponsor student fees to boost enrolment

1 2 3 Udupi: At a time when admissions to the Government First Grade College, Hiriyadka, saw a steady decline, faculty members took it upon themselves to reverse the trend by sponsoring student fees and actively encouraging enrolments. Initially, the college announced fee waivers for students who scored 70% and above. Now, associate professor of Kannada, Sowmyalatha P, has taken the initiative further by offering to sponsor three years of education for any deserving student, regardless of marks. In a WhatsApp message that has now gone viral, Sowmyalatha highlighted the growing preference among students for private and paramedical courses, especially nursing and polytechnic, often at the cost of quality yet affordable education available at govt colleges. "There is a misconception that govt colleges lack facilities or opportunities. Many students are also dropping the idea of higher education altogether. We want every child to become a graduate. This message is particularly for rural students who have the interest, but face financial barriers. There has been a drastic decline in admissions post Covid-19 pandemic," she said. The college offers BA, BCom, and BCA courses, and students from distant districts like Vijayapura, Raichur, and Bagalkot have reached out following her message. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Switch to UnionBank Rewards Card UnionBank Credit Card Apply Now Undo While the college does not have a hostel, Sowmyalatha said BCM hostels can be arranged, and the principal has assured support. "We have received about 20 BCom applications so far, and a few BA and BCA enquiries too. The annual fees is less than Rs 10,000 per student. This is a small investment compared to the value of education," she said, adding that she decided to sponsor students as she is set to retire in another 18 months. Principal Prof Jayaprakash Shetty said this is part of a larger effort to make govt colleges more accessible. "Many students are drawn to nursing due to job promises, but several drop out midway and end up working in factories to repay loans. We want them to make informed choices. Our staff, including eight permanent faculty, are committed to strengthening the college," he said. The college has also partnered with MSDC, Manipal, to introduce skill development programmes, and this academic year, classes are likely to begin 15 days early with a bridge course. Admissions are open till Aug.

Whoopi Goldberg compares US to Iran in fiery clash with Alyssa Farah Griffin; ‘They just keep hanging Black people'

The View descended into turmoil when Whoopi Goldberg and Alyssa Farah Griffin argued about the Israel-Iran conflict. Sara Haines stated that she will not protect Iran, which she termed as a 'terrorist nation that has been funding people killing people for decades,' after Sunny Hostin charged Israel of violating diplomatic law by carrying out airstrikes against Iran's nuclear installations last week. 'They've never followed the rules,' Haines stated. Goldberg became enraged when Griffin expressed her opinion that 'Iranians literally throw gay people off of buildings' and 'don't adhere to basic human rights.' 'Let's not do that because if we start with that, we have been known in this country to tie gay folks to the car. They used to just keep hanging Black people,' miffed Goldberg hit back. In response, Griffin apologised, saying: 'I'm sorry but where the Iranian regime is today in 2025 is nothing compared to the United States.' In an attempt to correct Griffin, Goldberg stated that the two circumstances 'are the same.' But Griffin remained steadfast in her conviction, saying that 'The year 2025 in the United States is nothing like if I step foot wearing this outfit in Iran right now. I can't have my hair showing, I can't wear a skirt, I can't have my arms out.' Also Read: Alleged Tyler Perry-Derek Dixon private chats leak sparks online uproar; 'If you let the cast know that…' Griffin went on to mention that residing in the US in 2025 is 'very different' than living in Iran. Goldberg, however, interjected, 'Not if you're Black.' Despite acknowledging that America has 'very real problems,' Griffin asserted it's 'important' to keep in mind that 'there are places much darker than this country.' 'I think you know that Iran is significantly worse than our country,' she told the panel. Meanwhile, the panel was at odds with 77-year-old Arnlod Schwarzenegger, who arrived on the show to promote the second season of his Netflix action-comedy series FUBAR, when he said that immigrants in the US should 'behave like a guest.' Whoopi Goldberg, co-host, swiftly retorted that 90 percent of the people who entered the US are attempting to do the right thing, adding that individuals, who shouldn't be taken out of the country, are being pushed out. 'People who have visas, people who have all those things. So, we want all the right people. We don't want people who are doing bad stuff.'
