WEDNESDAY Season 2 Part 2 Trailer Teases Ghostly Return and Darker Twists Ahead — GeekTyrant

Wednesday fans, get ready for more supernatural mayhem at Nevermore Academy. Netflix has dropped a new trailer for Wednesday Season 2, Part 2, and it's teasing a darker and more intense conclusion. I've been have a very fun time watching this show! Not only is there more Hyde havoc on the horizon, but the trailer also reveals the shocking return of a fan-favorite character we thought was long gone. Sooilers ahead! Gwendoline Christie is back as Principal Weems, despite her brutal death at the end of Season 1. Viewers watched her get taken out by Marilyn Thornhill, who injected her with poisonous nightshade. With Steve Buscemi stepping in as Barry Dort, Nevermore's new principal, Weems' story seemed wrapped. But the writers have found a clever way to bring her back without undoing her death. This time, she returns as a ghostly spirit guide for Wednesday. Since Wednesday can no longer connect with Goody Addams, fans expected a new spectral presence to guide her. What's surprising is that it's Weems, considering she's not part of the Addams bloodline. But it works. As a ghost tied to Nevermore, she fits naturally into the school's eerie ecosystem. In fact, Christie's comeback was quietly teased during the show's 'Global Doom Tour' in Sydney, where she showed up alongside the cast. Netflix Australia & New Zealand even shared a clip on Instagram where Weems chillingly says: 'Did you really think Nevermore would let me go so easily? I was never gone… you just stopped looking.' It seems Weems may be sticking around to help Wednesday sharpen her psychic powers. But there's a chance she also needs something from Wednesday, some unfinished business that keeps her from resting in peace. So much for those fan theories suggesting she shapeshifted into Lurch. Outside of Weems' ghostly return, the new trailer amps up the threat of Tyler's Hyde. He's back and more dangerous than ever, and it's clear no one close to Wednesday is safe. There are also ominous hints about hidden secrets within the Addams family that are yet to be revealed. And at the tail end of the teaser, a cryptic voice that sounds a lot like Lady Gaga warns, 'Beware, there will be a price to pay.' What that price is, and what it means for Wednesday, is still a mystery. Wednesday Season 2, Part 1 is currently streaming on Netflix. The second half of the season drops on September 3, 2025.

The ‘Wednesday Season 2 Part 2' Trailer Welcomes Back a Familiar Face

Now that we're just over a week out from the first half of the season 2 release of Netflix's The Addams Family remake, Wednesday, starring Jenna Ortega, the streamer has finally released a new trailer for its second half. The trailer starts nightmarishly, at least for Wednesday, with her waking up in a hospital bed. Although she's not greeted by Momma Monster herself, Lady Gaga, who has yet to make an appearance on the show despite all the hype surrounding her mysterious involvement, Wednesday is met with a familiar face, fan-favorite character Principal Weems, played by Gwendoline Weems' return comes as a surprise, seeing as how last season saw the loathsome head of Nevermore Academy meet her end. Thinking Wednesday also bought the farm after her encounter with Tyler (Hunter Doohan) at the end of season 2's first half, Weems took immense pleasure in revealing that she'll be nagging at Wednesday inside her thoughts as a kind of gothic Jiminy Cricket tag-along as Wednesday gets back to her premonition quest to save her best friend, Enid (Emma Myers), from certain doom. Sprinkled throughout the rest of the trailer is narration by Wednesday, reminding both herself and the viewers that she still has other matters to attend to. Mainly, her family's seemingly endless well of dark secrets bubbling to the surface, and Tyler being on the loose with plans to put Wednesday and Enid in an early grave. While the news of the day is that viewers won't have to wait all that long to get the final half of the split in twain season, fans can take solace in knowing that there's more Wednesday mayhem in store for them in the future beyond the second slice. Namely, a third season is in the works as well as a spin-off. While details on both fronts have been kept under wraps, showrunners Alfred Gough and Miles Millar have expressed interest in keeping the show going for at least seven seasons. Our money is on the plans for a spin-off likely taking the focus off of Ortega, should Hollywood come a-knocking for her to do some acting outside of Netflix's backyard. Regardless, Wednesday continues to be a booming success on the streamer. Shortly after Wednesday season two part one premiered on Netflix, Variety reported that the new season has already matched the first season's streaming performance. With Lady Gaga still to make her presence felt on the screen, the show is likely to continue performing well for the streamer and delight fans as it closes out its second season. Wednesday season two part two releases on September 3. Want more io9 news? Devil May Cry Season 2: Release date rumors, cast updates and what to expect next

By Aman Shukla Published on August 14, 2025, 19:30 IST Last updated August 14, 2025, 13:50 IST Netflix's Devil May Cry animated series landed like a Rebellion slash in April 2025, hooking fans with its slick demon-slaying action and that classic Dante swagger. The Season 1 finale left jaws on the floor—Lady's betrayal, Dante frozen, and Vergil ready to unleash hell. With Season 2 already greenlit, the hype train's rolling. Here's the latest scoop on release rumors, cast updates, and what's coming next, straight from the rumor mill and fan chatter. When is Devil May Cry Season 2 Dropping? No official date's been spilled for Devil May Cry Season 2, but the tea's brewing. Netflix gave the thumbs-up for another season just days after Season 1 hit, which screams confidence. Looking at Adi Shankar's past gigs, like Castlevania (which dropped new seasons about 15 months apart), a similar timeline feels right. Word is production started around mid-2025, so late summer or fall 2026 seems like a solid guess. Some fans on X are betting on a slightly earlier drop, maybe July 2026, but that's pure hope for now. Keep eyes peeled on Netflix's socials for the real deal. Who's Back and Who's New in Devil May Cry Season 2? The voice cast in Season 1 was fire, and most of the heavy hitters should return. Johnny Yong Bosch, who nailed Nero in the Devil May Cry games, is expected to keep rocking as Dante, serving up that cocky charm. Scout Taylor-Compton's likely back as Lady, whose double-cross left fans shook—her arc's gonna be juicy. Robbie Daymond as Vergil, Dante's brooding twin, is a lock too, especially after that 'war on humanity' bombshell. Tragically, Kevin Conroy (Vice President Baines) and Tony Todd (a mystery role) passed away in 2022 and 2024, so their characters will need new voices. Names like Ian James Corlett are floating around for Baines, but nothing's confirmed. Side characters like Enzo (Chris Coppola) and White Rabbit (Hoon Lee) might not make it back—Season 1 left their fates up in the air. As for fresh faces, fans are begging for game staples like Trish or Nero to show up, tying the anime tighter to the Devil May Cry lore. That shadowy client from the finale? Could be a big bad like Mundus or someone totally new. The speculation's wild, and it's got everyone buzzing. What's the Story in Devil May Cry Season 2? Season 1 ended with a gut-kick: Lady betrayed Dante, DARKCOM's got him on ice, and Vergil's teamed up with demon king Mundus to wreck shop. Season 2's poised to crank things to eleven. Here's what's cooking based on fan theories and hints: Dante vs. Vergil, Round Two : The twins' beef is the heart of Devil May Cry , and Season 2's gotta deliver a banger showdown. Their mom's death still haunts them, so expect some raw, emotional punches alongside katana clashes. : The twins' beef is the heart of , and Season 2's gotta deliver a banger showdown. Season 2 could show him smashing out, maybe with a reluctant Lady or a surprise ally. DARKCOM's demon experiments are shady as hell, and their endgame's bound to be a big reveal. : Dante's not staying frozen long—bet on it. Demon Realm Deep Dive : Vergil's deal with Mundus opens up the underworld for exploration. New demonic locales could bring killer visuals, maybe even a peek at Sparda, the brothers' legendary dad. Fans want that family lore cranked up. : Vergil's deal with Mundus opens up the underworld for exploration. Lady's Next Move: Lady's betrayal stung, but her guilt could spark a redemption arc. Will she help Dante or dig a deeper hole? That tension's gonna be a wild ride. Adi Shankar's dropped hints that Season 2 will feel 'different,' with Dante powering up but also growing as a character, not just a demon-killing machine. Think more Ebony and Ivory action, less political fluff, and maybe some nods to the games' iconic style. Ahmedabad Plane Crash Aman Shukla is a post-graduate in mass communication .
