Five parties to feature in Mediacorp's English and Mandarin forums for Singapore Votes 2025

Five political parties will take part in two televised forums hosted by Mediacorp as part of its Singapore Votes 2025 election coverage. The forums will air live in English and Mandarin on 27 and 29 April 2025, respectively.
According to Mediacorp's media release on 25 April 2025, the broadcaster had planned to follow its GE2020 format by inviting the four parties fielding the most candidates.
However, a tie for fourth place resulted in five political parties being invited this year.
The confirmed participants are the People's Action Party (PAP), Workers' Party (WP), Red Dot United (RDU), People's Alliance for Reform (PAR), and Progress Singapore Party (PSP).
The English-language programme, titled Singapore Votes 2025: The Roundtable, will air on Sunday, 27 April from 8pm to 9.30pm.
It will be broadcast live on mewatch, melisten, CNA, CNA938, cna.asia, CNA YouTube and CNA Facebook.
A repeat telecast will follow from 10pm to 11.30pm on Channel 5 and mewatch.
The roundtable will feature a question-and-answer format, with representatives from each party addressing topics relevant to the 2025 General Election.
Mandarin programme on 29 April
The Mandarin-language forum, titled 《新加坡大选 2025: 政党论政》Singapore Votes 2025: The Political Forum, will be broadcast live on Tuesday, 29 April from 9pm to 10pm.
It will also be available on mewatch, melisten, Channel 8, Mediacorp CAPITAL 958, 8world.com and 8world's social media platforms, including YouTube, Facebook and TikTok.
The format is expected to be similar to the English programme, offering Mandarin-speaking voters the opportunity to engage with policy discussions and party platforms ahead of Polling Day.
Mediacorp confirmed that these forums are part of its comprehensive election coverage, which spans all four national languages across television, radio, digital, and social media platforms.
The broadcaster is aiming to offer Singaporeans accessible and multilingual election content, ensuring wide public reach and inclusivity during the campaign period.
The 2025 General Election will see 211 candidates from 11 political parties and two independents contesting 92 out of 97 parliamentary seats.
The ruling PAP is contesting all 97 seats, with a walkover in the Marine Parade–Braddell Heights constituency after WP withdrew from that ward.
WP has fielded 26 candidates, RDU 15, and both PSP and PAR are each fielding 13 candidates.
