RTA's Ramadan Initiatives Benefit 55,000 Individuals, Strengthening Dubai's Culture of Giving

Dubai's Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) successfully concluded its Ramadan 2025 initiatives, impacting 55,000 individuals through 20 community-driven projects.
These efforts, held across RTA headquarters, metro stations, and marine transport stations, reinforced the authority's commitment to fostering social cohesion, volunteerism, and sustainable development.
RTA's initiatives targeted various segments, including people of determination, orphans, low-income families, and public transport users. In collaboration with Dubai Police, the Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department, Dubai Charity Association, and other partners, the projects promoted values of tolerance and teamwork. Widespread Impact Through Community Initiatives
Over 30,000 individuals benefited from the Iftar Meal project, while the Meals on Wheels initiative supported 15,500 workers, including bus drivers and delivery bike riders. Additionally, 5,000 metro users participated in dedicated Ramadan activities, and the Ramadan Rations project provided 1,000 nol cards to assist low-income families during the holy month. 'RTA remains committed to fostering a culture of giving through initiatives that enhance social responsibility and humanitarian efforts,'
said Abdullah Yousef Al Ali, CEO of the Corporate Administrative Support Services Sector at RTA. Encouraging Volunteerism and Eid Celebrations
With the participation of 350 volunteers contributing over 1,500 hours, RTA strengthened its volunteer network. The authority also marked Eid Al-Fitr with cultural events at the Senior Citizens Council, gift distributions at Etisalat Metro Station, and partnerships with organizations to bring joy to orphans and senior citizens.
RTA's Ramadan initiatives concluded with UAE Reads, offering reading workshops for employees' children in collaboration with the Huawei Community. Through these sustained efforts, RTA continues to reinforce Dubai's position as a global model for charitable and community-driven work.

Organised by the Positive Spirit Council in collaboration with Al Raffa Police Station, the General Department of Human Rights, and the 'Thank You for Your Giving' volunteer team, the initiative is aimed at raising awareness among workers about the risks of working in high temperatures, and providing practical tools to reduce heat in the Al Shindagha area, this round of the initiative benefited 250 workers who received umbrellas to use while walking between sites, helping protect them from heat stress. Workers were also given essential safety tips to prevent heat exhaustion and sunstroke, including reminders to stay hydrated and follow basic health Buhjair, Chairperson of the Positive Spirit Council, noted that the Human Rights Department educated workers on their legal rights, the services offered by Dubai Police, and the importance of using the 901 line for non-emergencies and 999 for emergencies. Road safety tips and information about Dubai Police's victim support services were also shared. 5 Aug 2025 15:29 DUBAI (ALETIHAD)The Positive Spirit Council at Dubai Police, in collaboration with Al Muraqqabat Police Station, Dubai Municipality, and Dubai Media Incorporated, has organised the 'Abu Hail Community Forum' at Abu Hail Park that brought together families from diverse nationalities and age groups, offering a wide range of activities that combined entertainment, education, and community forum featured a strong turnout of over 300 attendees and saw the presence of Lt. Colonel Majid Issa bin Redha, Acting Director of Al Muraqqabat Police Station; Ms Fatma Buhjair, Chair of the Positive Spirit Council; Captain Saeed Ghadir, Vice Chair of the Council; Lieutenant Nabit Sultan Al Ketbi, Head of the 'Your Commitment is Happiness' initiative; and Mr Muhammad Al Hajaji, General Coordinator of the Positive Spirit event catered to all members of the family, with dedicated entertainment zones for children, including drawing workshops and interactive sports activities that encouraged family participation. Alongside the recreational aspects, the forum placed a strong emphasis on awareness and education.A series of informative lectures was delivered throughout the day. These covered essential topics such as how and when to contact Dubai Police (999 in emergencies and 901 for non-emergency assistance). Participants also learned about the dangers of narcotics, the importance of drug prevention, and how to access the 'Victim Support' service. Sessions also focused on traffic safety regulations and introduced the innovative services provided by the Smart Police Station (SPS). To ensure inclusivity, all lectures were interpreted in sign language for attendees with hearing event also featured engaging live elements, including an appearance by Police Mascot 'Mansour' from the Security Awareness Department, musical performances by the Dubai Police Band, and a display of luxury patrol vehicles. A special highlight was the K9 Unit demonstration, where police dogs showcased their advanced detection and security skills, much to the excitement of the audience. Fatima Buhjair stated that the event is one of several initiatives launched by the Positive Spirit Council to support Dubai Police's strategic goal of spreading happiness and fostering public safety.
