When we asked why the store name was missing a word, Tuesday, its owner, who does not want to be identified, said he had 'no comment.'
FOX4 drove to another location, under different ownership, that also had 'Snaps' as part of its name as of Monday, and asked its owner why the sign too came down within the last day.
The owner of the store off East Santa Fe Street and Emma said he has owned it for about a year. He told FOX4, it has been called 'Grab and Go' the whole time, but for some reason, the signage from the previous ownership was left behind.
Coincidentally, he says, the previous owner, who now only owns the Ridgeview and Kansas City Road location, called him Monday and wanted the old sign back.
Tuesday, it was no longer present.
The store on E. Santa Fe says it was not part of the Olathe Police Department raid that happened last week.
Tuesday, FOX4 asked the Olathe Police Department again what led up to raids of some stores and what was taken. Police acknowledged FOX4's request Tuesday, but did not provide further information.

State trooper, a youth hockey referee, arrested on federal child porn charges

An Illinois state trooper who also served as a youth hockey referee was arrested on child pornography charges this week while at work at the agency's Des Plaines headquarters, authorities said. Colin Gruenke, 37, of Deerfield, was charged in a criminal complaint unsealed in U.S. District Court on Thursday with one count of distribution of child pornography, court records show. Prosecutors are seeking to have Gruenke held without bond pending trial, and a detention hearing is set for Monday before U.S. Magistrate Judge Young Kim. Gruenke's lawyer, Rick Meza, declined to comment Friday. According to the complaint, authorities were first alerted in September 2024 that someone using the screen name 'cgiceman' was distributing multiple files containing child pornography through the social networking platform Kik. The screen name appeared to reference Gruenke's involvement with hockey, from playing in a Northbrook men's league to refereeing junior hockey league games, including the 2018 Illinois State High School Hockey Championships, the complaint alleged. After obtaining search warrants for Gruenke's phone and Deerfield condominium, agents with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security Investigations confronted the trooper at about 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Illinois State Police Chicago District offices in Des Plaines, the complaint alleged. At the time, Gruenke was holding an Apple iPhone in his hand, which he handed over to the agents. 'During the manual review of the iPhone, officers discovered thumbnails of deleted screenshots depicting child pornography in the iPhone's 'Files' application,' the complaint alleged. The images, which were later fully recovered, depicted 'fully nude prepubescent children with their genitals displayed in a lewd and lascivious manner,' according to the charges. At the same time of Gruenke's arrest, agents executed a search warrant at his home on Waukegan Road in Deerfield, where they found a 16-gigabyte flash drive inside a nightstand drawer in his bedroom, the complaint alleged. In addition to a folder labeled with Gruenke's government-issued email, another subfolder on the flash drive labeled 'DIVX' contained about 200 video files of children as young as nine being sexually abused by adults, the complaint alleged. Gruenke, who has the rank of trooper first class, joined the Illinois State Police in 2019 and currently worked in patrol in Troop 3, which covers the entire Chicago area, according to an agency spokesperson. He's been placed on administrative leave without pay pending the outcome of the case. Gruenke's salary is currently $86,000, state payroll records show. jmeisner@

Abandoned puppy found in Mass. euthanized, police investigate as animal cruelty

Police have been investigating an animal cruelty case in which two puppies were found abandoned in Randolph earlier this month, according to police. One of the puppies was in such bad condition that veterinarians decided to euthanize it. On the evening of Aug. 1, a passerby found two puppies abandoned along a walkway between the Martin E. Young Elementary School on Lou Courtney Drive and Barbara Road, Randolph police said in a press release. The passerby quickly notified police, and the puppies — a male and female around 11 weeks old — were immediately taken to VCA Weymouth. 'Unfortunately, shortly after arrival, it was determined that due to the extent of the condition of the male puppy, the most compassionate recourse was to provide him with a peaceful passing,' police wrote. Randolph police are now asking the public to help them identify 'the individual(s) responsible for dumping these helpless dogs,' the police department wrote. Investigators believe the suspects are likely basement breeders who live in Randolph or a neighboring community. The puppies are of mixed breed — possibly some sort of shepherd or hound mix — and have 'a distinct black tail,' police said. The female puppy is not currently up for adoption. Randolph police are asking anyone who thinks they may have seen suspicious activity in the area on or around Aug. 1 or who knows of home breeders in the area that breed similar dogs to contact them. Those with information about the case are asked to call Detective Kevin Aldred at 781-963-1212, police said. Alternatively, you can submit an anonymous tip by texting 'Randolph' to 847411 or by downloading the Randolph Police Department application onto your Apple or Android phone. No further information about the case has been released. Woman hospitalized, Chihuahua killed in off-leash dog attack at Lawrence park

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Lawrence police are investigating a dog attack after a woman was injured and her Chihuahua was killed by an unleashed dog on Sunday. According to a , at about 2 p.m., officers were called to Centennial Skate Park on reports of a dog attack. Funeral to honor life of fallen Deputy Elijah Ming held on Monday The investigation revealed that a woman in her 70s was walking her three dogs when an unleashed dog attacked her and her Chihuahua. The other two dogs were not harmed. When police arrived, they found the woman suffering from a severe bite wound to her arm, a broken finger, and several other minor wounds. Her pet Chihuahua was killed in the attack. Police said they found the attack dog pinned down by men who had been witnesses to the attack. Officers then created a makeshift muzzle to control the dog and took it away from the scene. The woman was taken to a hospital with one of her dogs, police said. The other dog had run off during the attack but was later found by law enforcement and returned home. The dog that initiated the attack was taken to the Humane Society, as well as the deceased Chihuahua. Two young girls wake to find naked man inside Lawrence home At this time, officers are working to identify the owner of the unleashed dog, but have not been able to make contact with him yet. Investigations are ongoing, police said. How to prevent, stop a dog attack FOX4 spoke with Dr. Melia Washington, chief veterinarian at Pet Resource Center of KC. She shared the following tips to prevent and stop a dog attack: Loud noise/auditory stimulus (yelling in a deep voice, clapping, foghorn) Bite stick Pepper spray 'The first step would be obviously getting their attention,' she said. 'You can do that in various ways…yelling, clapping. 'We always had milk jugs with rocks in them. So just like shaking something, just a weird sound.' She also said the tone of your voice makes a huge difference, so you want to yell in a deep and assertive tone. Bite sticks are also a great way to stop a dog attack. 'The other thing is a bite stick,' Dr. Washington said. 'You can use the bite stick to stick in their mouth and pry their mouth open.' Pepper spray is also good to carry, she said. You can spray it in the dog's eyes to try and stop an attack. Copyright 2025 Nexstar Media, Inc. All rights reserved. This material may not be published, broadcast, rewritten, or redistributed.
