Meghan Markle Reveals the 'One Thing' She Kept from' Suits' and Reacts to Its Resurgence (Exclusive)
Meghan Markle is looking back on her acting days on Suits.
The Duchess of Sussex, 43, may have left the USA Network series in 2017 before marrying Prince Harry, but a lot has happened to the legal drama since. While Meghan's character, Rachel Zane, wrapped h her storyline with a wedding in the seventh season, Suits went on for two more seasons and found a new audience when it hit Netflix in 2023.
Meghan tells PEOPLE exclusively in this week's cover story, "I'm not surprised that people are rediscovering Suits, because it was so well written and so well produced."
"It's a time capsule for me," she adds, revealing she still has a piece of Zane's signature wardrobe. "I still have the pencil skirt from the first episode! That's the one thing I kept."

Now, the spinoff series Suits L.A.— set in Meghan's hometown! — is on Peacock.
"I love that it gets a new breath of fresh air," she says.
Meghan was living in Toronto filming the show when she first connected with Prince Harry, now 40. After their first dates took place in London in 2016, the couple kept a long-distance relationship, traveling between Canada and the U.K. to visit each other — never going more than two weeks apart.
In the couple's engagement interview in November 2017, Meghan touched on leaving the show as she focused on royal life.
"I don't see it as giving anything up. I just see it as a change. It's a new chapter, right? And also, keep in mind, I've been working on my show for seven years. We were very, very fortunate to have that sort of longevity on a series.'
'I've ticked this box, and I feel very proud of the work I've done there, and now it's time to work with [Harry] as a team," she added. 'I think what's been really exciting as we talk about the transition out of my career and into my role is the causes that are really important to me that I can focus even more energy on.'

Although Meghan has said she has no intention of returning to acting, Suits creator Aaron Korsh isn't opposed to a cameo if she changes her mind.
He recently told PEOPLE, 'So, look, to me, we have thought about whether it be Meghan or any of the other cast members coming on and playing themselves as an actor. I think for me that's a little ... My brain blows up at the thought of that."
'So I think it blows up the world too much,' he continued. 'Obviously, if Meghan wants to come back under any circumstances, Meghan can come back.'
When asked if the Duchess of Sussex has an open invitation to rejoin the cast, Korsh added, 'Of course. Of course. Always. But I think realistically, it would be too much of an explosion of the fourth wall to do that."

Did Prince William Just Hint at His Rift with Prince Harry in Rare Family Comment?
Prince William weighed in on the complications of family dynamics at his latest royal engagement The Prince of Wales spoke about how family can be a "mixed bag" while meeting soldiers in his role as Colonel-in-Chief of the Army Air Corps William made the quip amid a deep rift with his brother Prince Harry, as royal biographer Sally Bedell Smith tells PEOPLE in this week's issue that "the underlying issue is trust" Prince William may have subtly acknowledged his strained relationship with his brother, Prince Harry, during a recent royal outing. On June 4, the Prince of Wales opened up about how family can be a "mixed bag" while visiting the Army Air Corps in Wattisham, Suffolk. Prince William, 42, toured the regiments for the first time as Colonel-in-Chief of the Army Air Corps, a high-profile role previously believed to have been earmarked for Prince Harry before he stepped back from his royal role in 2020. During a conversation with soldiers on a water break from combat training, William brought up the topic of family in a moment that some royal watchers saw as pointed. According to the Daily Mail, the heir to the throne asked: "'Is the pace of life good at the moment [?]" After one man replied that it was "a mixed bag," William said, "Families okay? See you enough? Some of them might not want to see you that much. It's a mixed bag sometimes." However lighthearted or serious William's quip may have been, he offered the comment at an interesting time. The Prince of Wales' visit to the Army Air Corps was meaningful as his first visit to the regiments as honorary colonel, a position King Charles held for 32 years and appointed William to in August 2023 in a reshuffling of royal roles following his accession to the throne. The move made waves as William became the leader of his estranged brother Harry's former regiment. Prince Harry, 40, trained as an Army Air Corps pilot in 2009 and served with the combat aviation arm of the British Army during his second tour in Afghanistan from 2012 to 2013. It was widely thought that Harry would take over the prestigious role of Colonel-in-Chief one day, but the Duke of Sussex was forced to relinquish his military appointments when he and Meghan Markle departed their royal roles a few years ago. A distance continues between King Charles' sons amid an ongoing rift that first became public when Harry and Meghan stepped back from royal duties in 2020. Their relationship further fractured as the Duke and Duchess of Sussex spoke out in several interviews and released their Netflix docuseries, while a bombshell of Prince Harry's memoir Spare alleged a physical altercation with William. While Prince William remains estranged from his brother and sister-in-law, some royal observers say that the King, 76, should make the first move to help heal the broken bonds — though hesitation reigns behind closed doors. "The underlying issue is trust," royal biographer Sally Bedell Smith tells PEOPLE in this week's exclusive cover story. "The King and William don't trust Harry and Meghan with any kind of confidential conversation." Prince William and Prince Harry last appeared in public together with their wives, Kate Middleton and Meghan, to greet mourners who gathered at Windsor Castle following Queen Elizabeth's death in September 2022. Can't get enough of PEOPLE's Royals coverage? to get the latest updates on Kate Middleton, Meghan Markle and more! The brothers kept their distance at the King's coronation in May 2023, where William prominently paid homage to his father and Harry immediately left after the ceremony to return to California for his son Prince Archie's 4th birthday. Prince William and Prince Harry were most recently in the same place at the same time for the memorial service honoring their late uncle Robert Fellowes in Norfolk in August, but reportedly didn't cross paths. 'William and Harry were both there, but we never saw them speak to each other, and they were keeping their distance," an attendee told The Sun. Meanwhile, the Duke of Sussex recently told the BBC he "can't see a world" where he would bring Meghan and their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, to the U.K. after losing a legal appeal to restore the state-funded police protection he lost after departing royal duties in 2020. Jamie Foxx Has One Question For Sean Combs in Midst of N.Y. Racketeering Trial: ‘Why You So Nasty, Diddy?'
Jamie Foxx is not pulling punches when it comes to his thoughts on the Sean 'Diddy' Combs' New York sex trafficking and racketeering trial. During a recent appearance at the Comedy Store in Los Angeles, the actor/singer lashed out at the disgraced former music mogul who he once honored at Diddy's 2008 Hollywood Walk of Fame induction ceremony. 'Diddy is fu–in' crazy, huh?' Foxx said in footage shared by Urban Hollywood. 'I don't know if he is going to jail, but he is a nasty motherf–er. Am I right? Especially for us… white people like, 'It's cool,' but for Black people… that was our hero. All that g–damn baby oil, boy! Why you so nasty, Diddy?' When officers raided Combs' homes in Los Angeles and Miami last March prosecutors said they found drugs as well as more than 1,000 bottles of lubricant and baby oil. More from Billboard 50 Cent Keeps His Promise by Posting the 'Really Bad' Things Diddy Has Said About Donald Trump Jessie J Reveals 'Early Breast Cancer' Diagnosis: 'Cancer Sucks in Any Form' Big Thief Announce New Album, 'Double Infinity' The comments from Foxx about the shocking testimony in the Combs trial in reference to the rapper's marathon 'Freak Off' sex parties is relevant because in 2023 rumors circulated that Combs allegedly poisoned Foxx, leading to the actor's hospitalization for what was later confirmed to be a stroke. Foxx opened up about the rumors surrounding his mystery illness last month in a chat with The Hollywood Reporter, shooting down the allegations that Diddy tried to have him killed via poisoning. 'I'm in f—ing perfect shape. [I saw things like,] 'Puffy tried to kill me.' No, Puffy didn't try to kill me. When they said I was a clone, that made me flip,' Foxx said. 'I'm sitting in the hospital bed, like, 'These b—h-a– motherf—ers are trying to clone me.'' While a spokesperson for Combs did not reply to Billboard's request for a comment on the allegations, his team has repeatedly said the rumor was false and unfounded. Foxx also addressed the allegations in his What Had Happened Was… Netflix special in December, in which he said, 'The internet said Puffy was trying to kill me, that's what the internet was saying. I know what you thinking, 'Diddy?' Hell no, I left them parties early. I was out by 9. 'Something don't look right… it looks slippery in here!' The Combs trial is in its fourth week and on Wednesday (June 4) Bryana Bongolan, a friend of Diddy's ex, prosecution star witness Cassie Ventura, alleged that Diddy dangled her over a 17th-floor apartment balcony in 2016 before shoving her into the balcony's furniture. Combs is facing five criminal counts of racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking by force, fraud or coercion and transportation to engage in prostitution, charges that could land him in prison for the rest of his life; Combs has denied the allegations against him.
