We told you earlier this month how Celtic were eyeing the Italy Under-21 forward in a surprise deal alongside Japan international Shin Yamada - despite already snapping up Callum Osmand from Fulham.
SunSport understands the Hoops are closing in on a deal for Yamada, and the path has now cleared for a move to be finalised as he is no longer on international duty with Japan.
But although the Hoops look set to land the Kawasaki Frontale hitman, the same can't be said for Ambrosino.
The 21-year-old is closing in on a move to another club in Italy instead, according to reports in Italy.

Local Naples outlet Il Corriere del Mezzogiorno (via areanapoli.it) state that talks have progressed between Napoli and Cremonese for the striker.
It's said Ambrosino is one of four players that Napoli boss Antonio Conte has made available for transfer and has told sporting director Giovanni Manna to find another club for him.
It's believed that Cagliari and Celtic are two other clubs looking at him but Cremonese are now leading the race.
It was reported last week that Cremonese had tested the Italian champions' resolve with a £2.5million bid.

There are no further details on the offer at this stage but the latest report claims that Napoli have scheduled a meeting with the fellow Serie A side this week to potentially thrash out a deal.
It's believed the meeting will be held tomorrow and a deal could soon be finalised.
Cremonese are also keen on another young Napoli forward as it's stated that Alessio Zerbin is on their radar too.
The report suggests that the Italian side are looking to sign BOTH players and are not just looking at one of them.

Celtic, meanwhile, are looking at a loan with an option to buy with Ambrosino.

Kasper Schmeichel tells Celtic fans what he's really thinking about fairytale Parkhead ending
The Hoops No.1 turns 39 in November and is entering the final year of his Parkhead contract Kasper Schmeichel may be turning 39 in November. But the Celtic keeper hasn't even thought about hanging up the gloves. The Denmark veteran has enjoyed a glittering career at the highest level. A Premier League title-winner, more than 100 international caps and the captain of his country. He's long since stepped out of the shadow of his famous father, Peter. However, the reality is that Schmeichel is deep into the twilight of his career. And with just a year left on his Parkhead contract, fans will be wondering how long he has left in the tank. For now, the goalkeeper will enter the new season as the Scottish champions' No.1. But as a man who has achieved so much in the game, Schmeichel remains laser-focused on raising standards and chasing silverware. He said: "That's not my mindset. I haven't done everything. There's a lot still to accomplish. "In all honesty, I never think like that. I've never been the type of guy to think in restrictions or limitations or anything like that. "At the moment, I'm just loving playing football. I love being part of a club where the culture is so driven by winning. "That really motivates me every single day to get up to it, to make sure that we uphold those standards and keep striving for more. "As long as I'm enjoying that and as long as that hunger or desire, whatever you want to call it, is there, then I'll keep playing." Hearts great Craig Gordon could become one of the oldest players to appear at a World Cup if Scotland qualify for 2026. The Celtic Invincible Treble winner turns 43 in December but Schmeichel refused to say if he plans to join the over-40s club. "I'm not the type of person to say that I'm going to do this or going to do that", he said. "I take everything as it comes. At this stage of my career, nothing's ever guaranteed. "It never is at any point, but one injury can end your career at this stage. I think for me, it's all about being here, contributing, enjoying every single minute. The only way I do that is by being part of a winning team." After a couple of mixed years abroad with Nice and Anderlecht, Schmeichel has rediscovered his spark in Scotland. He marked his debut campaign in Glasgow with a league and cup double and clearly thrives on the expectation and demands of playing for a footballing powerhouse. He said: "When you're at a club like Celtic, you're not going to be here if your mindset isn't about winning. "We say it all the time. Anything but a win, that just won't do for us. We have to have that mindset. "It's something that's talked about every single day. Every single day, you turn up to training. It's 100 per cent. "You're not coming in for a half-day or whatever. You're coming in and you're here to win. "For me, personally, I've been in a few clubs. That's the most enjoyable environment to be in. "I don't really know how to explain it. It'd take a while, I think. The mechanisms of it are obviously quite deep-rooted within the club. "That's what's expected. Anyone who walks in the door of this club knows exactly what's expected of them. "If they don't, they'll find out very, very fast if you're one or two down at home, for example. "It's obviously driven by the manager and people like Callum McGregor and James Forrest that have been here for a long time." Schmeichel made his first appearance of pre-season in Celtic's impressive 2-0 victory over Sporting Lisbon in Faro. He only rejoined the group last week after being called up for an international friendly double-header in June. The 38-year-old made a couple of decent first-half stops to deny the Portuguese champs before making way for deputy Viljami Sinisalo at the break. Asked how he copes with the demands of the modern calendar, he shrugged: "It's part of the game. It is modern international football now. "At the end of the day, I'm of the opinion that I'm in the game to play. I want to play games. I love playing games. You're a long-time retired. "I wish we'd have gone to the Club World Cup or whatever, just to have that experience as well. It's one of those things. As a footballer, that's life. We're not going to complain about it. We're here to do a job. "We're very, very privileged to have this job. We get time off during the year sometimes. We have afternoons off and things like that. I'm not going to complain." Schmeichel will go back to where it all began this season when Celts face newly-promoted Falkirk. The ex-Manchester City youth spent a transformative six months on loan with the Bairns as a rookie in 2007, starring under John 'Yogi' Hughes, before a meteoric rise to stardom. Falkirk will always hold a special place in his heart as he added: "Yeah, for sure. It was one of those things coming up. "It was nice to play against them in the cup last year, which was great. "It'll be special to play against them and to play at Falkirk as well. It'll be an incredible experience again. It was many years ago. "A great club gave me an unbelievable opportunity at 18 or something like that. "I've got a few Yogi stories. He's another guy I owe a lot to. At that age, to get a chance, I played my first ever game on live TV. "I played against Celtic, I played against the likes of Rangers and all these kinds of teams that were big games. "It got me noticed and gave me a springboard to go and show what I can do."

Man Utd transfer news: Fresh problem in Bryan Mbeumo pursuit as Juventus eye double move
Manchester United continue to pursue Bryan Mbeumo but the change of manager at Brentford has impacted the deal whilst Marcus Rashford and Jadon Sancho's exits remain on the cards Manchester United's summer has somewhat ground to a halt despite there being plenty bubbling away in the background. The club have only made one summer signing whilst a number of their big names still remain. The Red Devils hope to add Bryan Mbeumo, who they have been chasing for weeks, and want him to compliment Matheus Cunha in their attack. The Brazilian remains the only new face as Ruben Amorim desperately seeks to improve his attack. A host of top earners, some signed for huge fees, also remain at Old Trafford despite having hugely uncertain futures. Marcus Rashford is currently training solo as he seeks a new permanent home with Barcelona his ideal destination. Jadon Sancho too is in the dark whilst Antony has returned from his loan stint away. Alejandro Garnacho could be another player the club cash in on as we sum up the latest transfer rumours from Manchester. Brentford appointment hampers Mbeumo deal United felt they were making forward strides as they looked to signing Mbeumo - but that was before Brentford confirmed the appointment of Keith Andrews, with the announcement throwing a spanner in the works with progress now stalling. The Red Devils have seen several bids for the Cameroon forward rejected, the last being £60m. The two parties remain millions apart in their respective figures and the change in the dugout has not helped. Andrews is another internal hire at Brentford, replacing Thomas Frank. The new Tottenham boss was thought to be keen on Mbeumo, but the north Londoners now look to have gone in a different direction. It leaves United with a free shot at the Brentford star, who himself wants the move, but they have struggled to agree on a fee. The MEN also understands that Andrews' arrival as the new head coach has further complicated matters with the Irishman wanting to keep his top players. Juve join Rashford race Juventus are looking to sign Rashford and end his Manchester exile. Barcelona have long been the favourites to sign Rashford after Aston Villa decided not to take up their option to buy at the end of his loan spell. But the La Liga champions are yet to make a move. That's left the door open for Juventus, who Sky Sport Italia report are exploring a deal as they look to reshape their attack this summer. They have put strikers Dusan Vlahovic and Arkadiusz Milik up for sale. Rashford isn't the only United player who the Serie A giants have been linked with either. Juventus have been in talks over a move for Sancho, who also spent last season out on loan, winning the Conference League with Chelsea. Antony's suitors Several teams across the Premier League and in Europe are showing an interest in United forward Antony, who faces a decision on this future this summer after enjoying a return to form in Spain. He excelled whilst on loan at Real Betis despite flopping in Manchester. He cost more than £80m when he joined in 2022 and the expectation is he will be sold. According to Brazilian news outlet UOL the Red Devils are demanding around £50m for the winger. They claim that RB Leipzig, Bayer Leverkusen, Brighton and Newcastle have all inquired about a potential move.

Felix Baumgartner, first skydiver to fall faster than the speed of sound, dies in paragliding crash
MILAN — Extreme athlete Felix Baumgartner, the first skydiver to fall faster than the speed of sound during a 24-mile leap through the stratosphere more than a decade ago, was killed in a crash Thursday along the eastern coast of Italy, according to an official where the crash occurred. He was 56. Italian firefighters who responded said a paraglider crashed into the side of a swimming pool in the city of Porto Sant Elpidio. The city's mayor, Massimiliano Ciarpella, confirmed Baumgartner's death in a social media post. 'Our community is deeply affected by the tragic disappearance of Felix Baumgartner, a figure of global prominence, a symbol of courage and passion for extreme flight,' the mayor said. Baumgartner, known as 'Fearless Felix,' stunned the world in 2012 when he became the first human to break the sound barrier with only his body. He wore a pressurized suit and jumped from a capsule hoisted more than 24 miles (39 kilometers) above Earth by a giant helium balloon over New Mexico. The Austrian, who was part of the Red Bull Stratos team, topped out at 843.6 mph — the equivalent of 1.25 times the speed of sound — during a nine-minute descent. At one point, he went into a potentially dangerous flat spin while still supersonic, spinning for 13 seconds, his crew later said. 'When I was standing there on top of the world, you become so humble, you do not think about of breaking records anymore, you do not think of about gaining scientific data. The only thing you want is to come back alive,' he said after landing in the eastern New Mexico desert. The altitude he jumped from also marked the highest-ever for a skydiver, shattering the previous record set in 1960 by Joe Kittinger, who served as an adviser to Baumgartner during his feat. Baumgartner's altitude record stood for two years until Google executive Alan Eustace set new marks for the highest free-fall jump and greatest free-fall distance. In 2012, millions watched YouTube's livestream as Baumgartner coolly flashed a thumbs-up when he came out of the capsule high above Earth and then activated his parachute as he neared the ground, lifting his arms in victory after he landed. Baumgartner, a former Austrian military parachutist, made thousands of jumps from planes, bridges, skyscrapers and famed landmarks around the world, including the Christ the Redeemer statue in Brazil. In 2003, he flew across the English Channel in a carbon fiber wing after being dropped from a plane. In recent years, he performed with The Flying Bulls as a helicopter stunt pilot in shows across Europe. Baumgartner said after his record-breaking jump in 2012 that traveling faster than sound is 'hard to describe because you don't feel it.' 'Sometimes we have to get really high to see how small we are,' he said.
