Lindsay Lohan opens up about why she prefers life in Dubai over Hollywood with family
During an appearance on Live With Kelly and Mark, the Freaky Friday star shared that living in the UAE city offers her a quiet, private lifestyle with husband Bader Shammas and their two-year-old son, Luai.
'It's just far away from Hollywood, and I live a very normal life,' Lohan said. 'There's no worry of like, 'I can't go eat at this place 'cause someone's gonna take a picture of my son.' I feel very safe.'
Lohan highlighted a key legal difference that contributes to her comfort in Dubai: unauthorised photography in public spaces is illegal.
'You can't take a picture of someone else if you're in a restaurant. You have to ask the person, which is a big difference from here,' she explained. 'Privacy is key.'
Since moving over a decade ago, the actress has embraced life outside the Hollywood spotlight. Though parenting comes with its challenges, Lohan remains grounded
Lohan and Shammas married in 2022 after meeting at a restaurant in Dubai.
As she juggles motherhood and prepares for the Freaky Friday sequel, she admits she's not quite ready to swap roles with her son just yet: 'He's still a toddler.'

Why Kelly Ripa is not hosting Live with Kelly and Mark this week — and what fans can expect next
Kelly Ripa has been absent from Live with Kelly and Mark since Monday, August 4, sparking curiosity among fans about her whereabouts. Her absence follows a week after her co-host and husband, Mark Consuelos, also took time off from the show. According to PEOPLE, Ripa is currently on summer vacation and is scheduled to return to the daytime talk show on Monday, August 11. During her break, a rotation of celebrity guest co-hosts has stepped in alongside Consuelos. The week began with actress and comedian Jackie Tohn, who previously appeared on the show and was praised by both Ripa and Consuelos as a potential fill-in. Tohn shared her excitement about co-hosting, calling it 'one of the best days' of her life on Instagram. She was followed by Step Up actress Jenna Dewan, who described the experience as 'the most fun day.' Rita Ora is scheduled to co-host the show on Wednesday, August 6, according to the show's official website. The rotation of guest co-hosts mirrors the previous week when Consuelos was away filming a television project in Los Angeles. During that time, Ripa was joined by various co-hosts including Jerry O'Connell, David Muir, Carson Kressley, and Steve Patterson. Several of them expressed gratitude on social media for being part of the show. Ripa's temporary absence coincides with a particularly busy time for the television personality. On July 29, she and Consuelos premiered their new ESPN docuseries Running with the Wolves, which chronicles their experience as new co-owners of an Italian soccer team. She also recently appeared on Not Gonna Lie with Kylie Kelce, adding to her full schedule. Although her absence was not initially explained in detail on-air, the timing suggests it's part of her annual summer break. With her return set for August 11, fans can expect Ripa to rejoin Consuelos for their usual morning discussions on current events and pop culture.

Lindsay Lohan talks struggles with typecasting and future career plans
Lindsay Lohan is opening up about her frustration with being pigeonholed into specific roles throughout her career and her efforts to break free from that cycle. In a recent interview with The Times U.K., the actress admitted that her early fame and public persona often limited her opportunities to pursue more sophisticated roles. Reflecting on her career, Lohan shared, 'I do think I was pigeonholed.' She recalled her excitement working on A Prairie Home Companion and expressed how, even now, she still has to fight for similar opportunities. 'You know me as this, but you also know I can do that. So let me! Give me the chance,' she said, emphasizing her desire to break the mold and open doors for new roles. Lohan also mentioned that if a director like Martin Scorsese were to approach her, she would not hesitate to accept the offer. Lohan's career began early with her breakout role in 1998's The Parent Trap, followed by iconic films in the 2000s such as Mean Girls, Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen, and Herbie: Fully Loaded. However, she took a brief hiatus from Hollywood in the mid-2000s to regain a sense of privacy and rediscover her passion for acting. "I was losing that feeling of excitement about doing a film," she explained, adding that she needed time to live her own life and find inspiration again. Now back in the spotlight, Lohan is set to star in Freakier Friday, a follow-up to her 2003 comedy Freaky Friday, which will be released in theaters on August 8. She is also set to star in and executive produce the upcoming Hulu thriller Count My Lies, marking her first role in a TV series. Looking ahead, Lohan expressed her desire to take on more diverse and classic projects, noting her craving for films with substance, like All About Eve or Breakfast at Tiffany's.

Kelly Ripa reveals why husband Mark Consuelos was hesitant to Co-Host Live
Kelly Ripa is opening up about what it's really like working with her husband, Mark Consuelos, on Live With Kelly and Mark — and why he initially resisted taking the job. During a July 31 appearance on Kylie Kelce's Not Gonna Lie podcast, Ripa, 53, shared that while she and Consuelos, 53, have decades of experience working together — dating back to their time on All My Children — co-hosting a daily talk show wasn't something he immediately embraced. 'We were used to working together,' Ripa said, recalling that Consuelos had filled in as a guest host more than 100 times before becoming permanent co-host in April 2023, following Ryan Seacrest's departure. 'He was always there, especially during the COVID year. So, he made sense to take over — we just had to make it make sense for him.' Ripa explained that Consuelos was hesitant at first because he viewed guest hosting as a fun, occasional gig. 'He's like, 'No, it's fun to do once in a while, because it's only once in a while,'' she recalled. However, Ripa encouraged him, pointing out the show's short taping schedule and the flexibility it allows. 'It's so much easier than doing a soap,' she added. Despite working together on-air, Ripa said the couple maintains a healthy level of space in their marriage. 'We don't see each other again until dinner,' she shared. 'We need some separation. We need some mystery between us.' Ripa also joked about on-air spats, saying, 'We have arguments on the air… the audience becomes our counselors. Spoiler alert: I'm usually right.' While Consuelos appeared on the July 28 episode of Live, he has been away from the show this week due to filming commitments in Los Angeles, with celebrity guest co-hosts stepping in during his absence.
