Remember Rico from Hannah Montana? You won't believe what the actor looks like now

Daily Mail09-06-2025
Moises Arias was skyrocketed into the spotlight when he starred as the troublemaker Rico in the beloved Disney Channel series Hannah Montana in the early 2000s.
But now, nearly two decades after the show premiered, the actor looks so different from his Disney days.
Moises, now 31, was cast in the Miley Cyrus-lead series in 2006 when he was only 12 years old.
He played Rico Suave, a rich genius who manages Rico's Surf Shop - the beach concession stand that Miley's older brother Jackson works at.
The two would sometimes feud and other times get into trouble together, making for a pretty epic duo.
The actor started as a supporting role in the first season, but his character was so popular he was promoted to the main cast for its second season.
He continued to star Rico for all four Hannah Montana seasons before it came to an end in 2011.
But now, flash forward 14 years later, and Moises is practically unrecognizable.
In a recent selfie shared to Instagram, the former Disney star sported some scruffy facial hair and a much-shorter hairstyle.
Moises made his acting debut in 2006 in the movie Nacho Libre.
He also had a brief appearance in the show The Suite Life of Zack and Cody before he landed his breakout role in Hannah Montana.
The show followed teen Miley Stewart who was secretly living a double life - some days she was a normal middle school student but other days she was pop sensation Hannah Montana.
Hiding her true identity - which was concealed by a blonde wig - from her classmates often put her in tricky situations.
It also starred Billy Ray Cyrus, Emily Osment, Mitchel Musso, and Jason Earles.
After the show turned Moises into a sensation practically overnight, he went on to star in a slew of big movies and shows.
He acted in the film Beethoven's Big Break, the drama The Perfect Game, the comedy Noobz, the coming-of-age film The Kings of Summer, sci-fi flick Ender's Game, historical drama Ben-Hur, Pitch Perfect 3, the comedy Little B***hes, Five Feet Apart, crime drama American Murderer, and superhero movie Samaritan, amongst other things.
Most recently, he played Norm MacLean in the wildly popular TV show Fallout, based off the video game of the same name.
Over the years, Moises also dabbled in directing, working on a series of YouTube films with his brother, Mateo Arias, under the name Moiswashere.
He also co-founded a fashion brand with his brother, Jaden Smith, and Willow Smith in 2012 called MSFTSrep.
He is now also a photographer, and often shares his photos to his Instagram, where he has over 800,000 followers.
Back in 2014 he became embroiled in scandal after a photo was shared to social media that showed a then-20-year-old shirtless Moises lying on a bed with a fully-clothed 13-year-old Willow.
At the time, reports emerged that said Willow's parents Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith were being investigation by child protective services over the controversial snap.
Jada defended the image at the time, saying there was 'nothing sexual about it.' All parties were later cleared.
Jada later recalled her rage over the ordeal, explaining her on her Red Table Talk show in 2019, 'That was the first time I ever got furious.'
'I was looking at the [CPS] lady and the whole time I was thinking, "You could be helping so many kids right now,"' Willow added of the social worker. 'And you're wasting your time with a child who has everything they need.'
'The woman that was on our case, she was a nice lady,' Jada said. 'She knew.'

Why Piers Morgan was forced to backtrack over Trump photo

Piers Morgan mistakenly posted a satirical image of Donald Trump wearing kneepads, believing it was a genuine live photo of him arriving in Alaska for a summit with Vladimir Putin. Morgan had wished Trump well in securing a ceasefire in the Ukraine-Russia war, praising his preference for peace. After facing mockery and being inundated with comments, Morgan deleted the post, claiming he had not noticed the mocked-up kneepads. He explained that he saw the picture on his feed, believed it was live, and only realised it was fake when people started laughing and raging about it. The incident is ironic given that Morgan recently criticised Chris Cuomo for being duped by a deepfake video.

Piers Morgan quickly backtracks after ‘mistakenly' posting photo of Trump wearing kneepads ahead of Putin summit

Piers Morgan said he thought a picture of Donald Trump wearing kneepads was a real image of the president preparing for his 'high stakes' summit with Russian President Vladimir Putin, adding that he deleted the photo when he realized it was fake. The British tabloid host went on to claim that the satirical pic of Trump merely came across his social media feed and he immediately reposted it alongside well-wishes to Trump. Needless to say, Morgan faced a flood of mockery for posting the mocked-up photo of the president, something he acknowledged after deleting the image. Hours before Trump actually touched down in Alaska for the summit with Putin, which is part of an attempt by the president to secure a ceasefire agreement in the bloody Ukraine-Russia war, Morgan – who has enjoyed a long (and fraught) friendship with Trump – posted an altered picture of the president exiting Air Force One. Apparently believing this was a live photo and that the president had just landed in Anchorage, the Piers Morgan Uncensored host delivered a message of hope ahead of Trump's meeting with Putin. 'As President [Donald Trump] lands in Alaska, I wish him the very best of luck in trying to secure an end to the horrendous war in Ukraine,' Morgan tweeted. 'It's refreshing to see a U.S. president who genuinely prefers peace to war.' With the picture showing a waving Trump donning bright red kneepads, it didn't take long for Morgan to get inundated with comments from other users on X asking him if he was aware that he had shared a meme that was mocking the president. 'Did you intentionally post a photo with Trump wearing knee pads or are [you] just an idiot? Evil or idiot? Which is it?' one poster pressed Morgan, prompting the presenter to chalk it up his tweet to ignorance. 'No.. I didn't see the kneepads on that pic, so just deleted and reposted with a different pic!' Morgan replied. In response to journalist Tara Palmeri wondering what had happened because the post was 'quickly deleted,' Morgan gave a more detailed explanation. 'I saw the pic on my feed and mistakenly believed it was a live one, and didn't spot the mocked up kneepads,' he replied to Palmeri. 'I couldn't understand why so many people were laughing and raging about it. Then I realized, deleted it and reposted with another pic. My words remained the same.' It is more than a bit ironic that Morgan fell for an obviously fake photo when it was just a week ago that he trolled NewsNation anchor Chris Cuomo for getting duped by a blatantly obvious deepfake video of Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) purportedly delivering a House floor speech denouncing the Sydney Sweeney 'good jeans' ad. 'Oh dear @ChrisCuomo - perhaps spend less time b*tching about me and more time trying to spot obvious fakes,' Morgan tweeted at Cuomo alongside several laughing emojis. 'You got clip i didnt pay attn I wont block you for saying how easy that is, my yappy friend?' Cuomo responded at the time.

Taylor Swift fans are convinced pop superstar has secretly agreed to play the Super Bowl halftime show... here's why

One of the many topics Taylor Swift discussed in her appearance on boyfriend Travis Kelce 's podcast, New Heights, was her new obsession with baking sourdough. What if the 'Anti-Hero' singer is not actually referring to bread? Many of Swift's fans think her references to sourdough may be an Easter Egg itself. Swift has been known to foreshadow and drop ambiguous hints about future projects. It may be a clever way to try to distract her fan base while she interacted live with her NFL boyfriend for the first time and announced 'The Life of A Showgirl' from something maybe even bigger at play. The huge theory from Swifties is that the 14-time Grammy Award winner has already locked in being the halftime performer for Super Bowl 2026. One of the biggest hints, with the Super Bowl taking place at Levi's Stadium, home of the San Francisco 49ers is that the team's mascot is Sourdough Sam. Not to mention, Swift's lucky number is 13. Simple addition in the Bay Area NFL team's two-digit nickname equals that baker's dozen. During New Height's co-host Jason Kelce's bombastic introduction of his brother's girlfriend, she emphasized how many countries on the 'Eras Tour' she visited - 47. The 47th show of her tour was at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, California. Swift has made a big deal about numerology since the start of her career, hence why her 12th studio album has exactly 12 songs on it, with the title track being the final song of the record. Another clue for Swift's diehard fan base is in between Swift and Kelce during her New Heights appearance - a replica of the Lombardi Trophy, handed out to the winner of the Super Bowl annually. Swift has been popular enough, and had the music catalog for several years to get the most coveted spot in music, with the NFL expected to announce who succeeds Kendrick Lamar over the next several weeks. The 35-year-old was in exile from the Super Bowl while Pepsi sponsored the halftime show due to her brand deal with rival Coca-Cola. Now, Apple Music is in charge of the spectacle. Should Swift be the choice, it would be the first time the halftime performer has a chance to be romantically involved with a participant in the biggest game in sports. The 'Karma is the guy on the Chiefs' riff on her own lyrics would have new meaning if Kelce had already played two quarters of a Super Bowl listening in a nearby locker room. And would Swift be able to perform with the emotions of watching her beau play in such a prestigious game? Many fans thought Swift would wait for the Tennessee Titans new stadium to open so she could get the halftime show in her hometown of Nashville. Now, we could be a few months away from Swift jumping to the front of the line.
