Brittany Hockley dramatically collapses at Sydney gym following marriage to Benjamin Siegrist: 'We have a woman down'

Daily Mail18-06-2025
Newlywed Brittany Hockley gave fans a fright this week after collapsing at a gym in Sydney, after an intense workout session with her husband Benjamin Siegrist.
The 37-year-old former Bachelor star was filmed lying slumped over a table at VRTUS gym in Bondi, appearing completely spent.
Dressed in a white jumper and black exercise pants, Brittany appeared exhausted as she looked up at the camera and let out a cry of anguish: 'Can't'.
She then slowly zipped her white jumper over her face in apparent defeat.
The alarming clip was shared by her Swiss footballer husband, who cheekily captioned it: 'We have a woman down'.

'Still in vacay mode, to be honest,' Brittany added.
He added two laughing emojis, confirming the moment was all in jest.
It comes after Brittany was left broken-hearted after she shelled out $1,000 for a lavish wedding cake - only to be delivered a culinary disaster.
The podcaster married Swiss footballer Ben Siegrist in a clifftop ceremony in Bali earlier this month.
While Brittany's nuptials went off without a hitch, the genetically blessed couple were left red-faced at the reception when they came face to face with their 'Temu' sponge that looked like a 'four-stacked pizza'.
Last week, Brittany shared an image of the ornate sponge she ordered, complete with piped dollops of rich white cream and a vibrant topping of fresh berries, and an image of what was delivered to illustrate her heartache.
Instead of the berry-laden showstopper she hoped for, the final product resembled 'four burned pizzas slapped together' - dull, brown, and uninspired.
The disappointing dessert left Brittany and her guests in shock.
The couple's wedding took place last week at Pandawa Cliff Estate, which promises a 'dramatic and romantic clifftop setting overlooking the Indian Ocean' and stunning views of Bali's Bukit Peninsula.
Brittany was ever the blushing bride on her big day, walking down the aisle in a strapless dress by Steven Khalil which featured a lace corset with dramatic long train.
Brittany and Ben gave followers a glimpse into the nuptials, sharing a duo of loved-up snaps from the big day to Instagram.
One showed Ben romantically embracing his new bride as he leaned in for a newlywed kiss.
'From the very first day, it was you,' Brittany captioned the images.
'Across any ocean, it is you. For the rest of our lives, it will always be you. Mr and Mrs Siegrist 4.6.2025,' she added, augmenting the sentiment with love heart emojis.

American mom living in Australia reveals major differences between kids' birthday parties in the two countries

An American mom who moved to Australia has revealed the biggest differences between kid's birthday parties in the two countries. In a recent video posted to TikTok, Lex, who has lived in Australia for almost a year, sparked a viral conversation after she detailed the top five variations when it comes to children's bashes - and how her family has adapted to them. 'They're just a little bit different from birthday parties in American,' the mom, who lives in Brisbane, Queensland, explained. Joking that her son is turning six soon so she's got 'birthday parties on the brain,' Lex went on to list the five keys differences. The first difference she noticed after going to a 'handful' of birthday parties down under is how 'laid back and chill' the parties were. Lex noted that in America, she feels as though birthday parties are trying to 'keep up with the Joneses.' 'You have these big, extravagant birthday parties [in the US],' she explained. As an example, she added: 'We went to a birthday party one time where they bought a petting zoo to the kid's house.' 'So what I enjoy here is that you know, most of the birthday parties we've been to have been at people's homes or at the park down the road,' added the mom-of-one. 'They ain't worried about having the perfect venue and spending all this money 'Also decorations are super chill, there's no decorations like balloon arches. There are decorations but it's just very simple.' The second difference was that there's less paper and plastic products used at birthday parties in Australia. 'In the States, we use paper plates and plastic forks and knives and plates all the time,' explained Lex. 'Therefore, it's much more common at birthday parties to see them in excess.' Meanwhile, in Australia, she said her son has been to a few birthday parties where they don't even offer plates for cake; instead, they give it to the kids in a napkin - sometimes without forks even. 'It was perfectly fine,' she quipped. 'Why are we using all these paper and plastic products?' The mom said the third difference was her 'favorite.' 'I love it when Australian's sing Happy Birthday,' she gushed. 'They say "hip, hip, hooray" at the end.' 'I love how much our son loves it now too,' she added. 'That's his favorite part of the son.' The fourth major difference according to Lex was the snacks offered at Australian birthday parties. She listed chocolate crackles, fairy bread (sprinkles on buttered white bread), and and the 'party mix' gummy candy. 'I just noticed in general that the snacks people offer here are different,' she observed. The fifth difference was that most of the cakes at Australian birthday parties are homemade. 'I think it's amazing and wholesome that the parents make the cakes,' she said, citing a popular cookbook, The Women's Weekly Birthday Cake Cookbook. 'I'm a big fan of all five differences,' she fondly reflected. 'I can't say there's one thing I miss.' The video went viral and users were divided in the comment section over whether these rules applied to all parts of Australia - with some suggesting it may be regional specific. 'Probably in Brisbane but you come to Sydney and it's a completely different story,' one user wrote. Another chimed in with her birthday memories, sharing: 'We had a pool and my birthday is October so my birthday parties were always a pool party with a BBQ, super fun and super easy. 'We'd play pass the parcel, the chocolate game, the doughnut game and lots of pool games. I loved it and my friends loved it.' 'It's all about everyone having a great relaxed day,' agreed someone else.

Horrifying moment British woman suffers severe burns after flaming skipping rope 'barbecued her neck' in freak accident during Thai full-moon party

This is the horrifying moment a woman was left with severe burns after a flaming skipping rope got wrapped around her neck at a full moon party. Karen Liseth, 22, went on a three-month trip to Thailand followed by Bali - and attended a full moon party at a beach on the second week of the trip. After a few drinks, she decided to 'do something crazy' - and asked her partner, Abed, now 29, to film her skipping with a flaming jump rope. Everything was going to plan - until she tried to get back out of the rope and it wrapped around her neck. Onlookers gasped in shock as the rope 'barbecued her neck' - leaving her with a sore and blackened neck. The business developer, from Bromley, Greater London, said she 'counts her blessings' the injury wasn't worse - like if it had hit her eyes or set her hair on fire. Karen said: 'I'd had a few drinks at the party and thought: "Why not do something crazy?" 'But then I completely miscalculated how to leave, and ran the other way - with the rope wrapping around my neck. 'I think I just felt adrenaline in the moment and laughed it off. 'I even had a few shots to help with the pain after!' Karen and her partner were visiting the Thai island of Ko Pha Ngan when they attended the party. Karen decided to be daring and skip with the rope - and asked Abed to film it. But things didn't go to plan - culminating in Karen being burned by the rope after trying to duck out of it. She said: 'I was in shock with the adrenaline at the time. 'After, my partner sat me down to check I was okay - that was when I realised it was painful and I started to cry.' The couple were stuck on the island until the morning - and Karen, then 18, said she woke up in pain. The business developer, from Bromley, Greater London , said she 'counts her blessings' the injury wasn't worse - like if it had hit her eyes or set her hair on fire But due to how remote the area was, they crossed their fingers it would heal by itself and continued their trip. Karen said: 'I woke up and I couldn't really move my neck. 'I called my mum and told her what happened - she was like: "What the f**k, Karen?" She was so concerned. 'It was a pain to shower and even to have my hair sat on my neck - I had to have my hair up for a few days because of the stinging. 'But I did carry on going in the sea and showering. 'It scabbed over, then the scabs came off a few times - after about two weeks it had healed.' Now fully healed, it has hardly even scarred - and there is virtually no evidence of the injury. Karen said she struggled to watch the video in the weeks after the injury in June 2022, but now can watch it with ease. She added: 'It was a holiday horror, but it didn't ruin the holiday. 'That video describes my crazy personality really - it's a cool story to tell. 'This is a perfect example of what not to do when you've had a few drinks - I don't drink like that any more!
