In an interview with India Today, John said, 'I call myself an accidental model because I was working as a media planner when a model didn't turn up, and I was asked to wear a pair of jeans. I didn't even think about it, it didn't cross my mind.'
Even after his first few films failed, John stayed positive. He said, 'Later, I had four films that failed, and I still didn't overthink it.
Then 'Dhoom' happened.' That film changed his career.
Never felt like an outsider
John opened up about the big nepotism debate in Bollywood. He said clearly, 'I've never felt like an outsider, to be very honest, and I've never claimed to be one.' He also added, 'I don't believe in this whole nepotism versus outsider debate, it's honestly done to death.'
John spoke warmly about his friendships in the industry. 'Karan [Johar] is, incidentally, one of my closest friends.

John feels proud to belong to the film world. 'I'm part of the industry, a very proud part of the industry,' he said. He hopes to try new and different films. But he is honest about the challenges. 'The discouraging part is that I need more support from studios to make the kind of films I want to make. That's the only thing I feel bad about.'

The NBA player won the lawsuit against the singer, who was fined $70,000 for breaking the conditions of her divorce decree from 2024. According to a report from Us Weekly, she was convicted in contempt of court and was forced to pay the large sum to her ex-husband. Teyana Taylor was also asked by the judge to cover Iman Shumpert's legal costs. The judge further rejected her request that the player cover her legal costs.
