Son of Sardaar 2 trailer: Ajay Devgn pretends to be Sunny Deol from Border in a comedy that tries too hard. Watch
The trailer then shows Ajay's character watching an older woman performing a pole dance, and as she collapses, the film tries to make a joke on 'Bebe marr gayi (Old woman is dead).' The trailer then proceeds to introduce a gamut of characters who seem to be here for a wedding. At one point, Ajay starts pretending he is Sunny Deol from Border, as Ravi Kishan's character speaks incorrect English. Mrunal Thakur plays Ajay's love interest here. The film also stars Mukul Dev in his last role. The actor passed away in May 2024. Sanjay Mishra, Vindu Dara Singh, Dolly Ahluwalia and Neeru Bajwa also star in the film.
Son of Sardaar released in 2012 and also starred Sonakshi Sinha. Back then, the film made around Rs 100 crore, as per Bollywood Hungama. The film clashed at the box office with Yash Chopra's last film Jab Tak Hai Jaan, starring Shah Rukh Khan. The movie released just a month after Chopra's sudden passing. It also led to some controversy between YRF and Ajay Devgn as he filed a complaint with Competition Commission of India (CCI) and accused YRF of trying to secure more screens for their film.
In a recent interview, Kajol, who is married to Ajay, and has had a long work association with YRF said she felt 'helpless' when this happened. She shared with The Lallantop, 'Fights are always difficult, especially when they remain unresolved for some time. At that point, when you have a situation like that in front of you, both parties were standing for themselves. As somebody who was connected to both sides, I felt helpless. You have to wait for time to pass so that the feelings subside. So that things can become ok again.'
Son of Sardaar 2 has been directed by Vijay Kumar Arora. He is known for directing Punjabi films like Godday Godday Chaa and Kali Jotta. Son of Sardaar 2 releases on July 25.

Aneet Padda, the rising star of Saiyaara, has captivated audiences with her debut performance, but a recently surfaced childhood video has taken the internet by storm. The viral clip features a young Aneet dancing with infectious energy, giving a glimpse into her hidden talent that would eventually shine on the big screen. Fans are thoroughly enjoying the throwback video, which captures Aneet's natural dancing skills. Take a look here. The video, featuring Aneet in a red outfit twirling with joy, offers a playful side of the actress. What's more? Aneet's vibrant smile and playful energy have also won the fans, leaving everyone in awe. View this post on Instagram A post shared by Ameet Padda Fanpage💙 (@aneetpadda15) Aneet Padda's Exciting Project According to Peeping Moon, Aneet Padda is set to star in the web series Nyaya, a compelling courtroom drama based on real-life events. Interestingly, Aneet had already wrapped up filming for Nyaya before Saiyaara, despite having signed an exclusive three-film contract with Yash Raj Films. 'Aneet is a big screen heroine for YRF. Nyaya was shot before she signed Saiyaara, and it has no bearing on her career trajectory as a theatrical heroine going forward. A girl who is delivering probably a 400 crore hit in theatres is a true Gen Z star at the age of just 22, and will be preserved for theatricals. There are huge plans to make her the face of a generation, and that can be achieved only by consolidating her theatrical equity," informed a trade source. Nyaya, directed by Nitya Mehra and produced alongside her husband Karan Kapadia, promises to spark conversations around faith, law, and justice. The series boasts an impressive cast, including Fatima Sana Shaikh as a determined police officer and Arjun Mathur in pivotal roles, with Aneet playing a 17-year-old girl fighting for justice after being sexually assaulted by a powerful spiritual leader. Meanwhile, Aneet Padda's acting journey took off with a small but impactful role in the 2022 film Salaam Venky, where she shared the screen with Kajol. Her breakthrough moment arrived with the Amazon Prime Video series Big Girls Don't Cry, where she landed her first lead role as Roohi Ahuja, showcasing her talent and versatility as an actress. Vindu Dara Singh Slams Pakistan For Fostering Terrorism: ‘Shame On Those People'
Vindu Dara Singh spoke about India's match against Pakistan in the upcoming Asia Cup. He also slammed Pakistan for harbouring terrorists on its soil. Ever since the deadly attack in Pahalgam, India's relations with Pakistan have deteriorated. Amid the ongoing tensions between the two countries, Son of Sardaar 2 actor Vindu Dara Singh spoke strongly against Pakistan's role in fostering terrorism. The 61-year-old actor also weighed in on the ongoing debate following the announcement of the Asia Cup fixture between the two nations. In the Asia Cup 2025, India is placed in Group A, alongside Pakistan. The two countries will face off against each other on September 14. Singh shared that sports should bring people together. 'We all know whatever has been going on, but sports is a different field," Vindu told ANI. Vindu Dara Singh On Pakistan The actor further urged Pakistan to stop harbouring terrorist groups on their soil as it would ultimately lead to their global isolation. He added, 'Pakistan needs to realise that they are losing out by doing wrong to India… We want peace, but they need to initiate this time. They are the ones who cause the problem. India has never attacked any country first. Shame on those people in Pakistan who support terrorism." Vindu's comment came just days after the announcement of the Asia Cup 2025 fixture between India and Pakistan. The tournament, organised by the Asian Cricket Council, is scheduled to take place from September 9 to September 25 in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). Initially, India was supposed to host the tournament. But the recent military tensions between the countries following the deadly attack in Pahalgam has forced the authorities to organise the tournament at a neutral venue, the UAE. The terrorist attack on tourists in Pahalgam on April 22 claimed the lives of 26 people. Post the attack, India launched a series of precision strikes under Operation Sindoor in May to destroy terrorist camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir. The two countries were involved in a military conflict before a ceasefire was announced on May 10. What's Vindu Dara Singh's Next Project? The actor is set to appear in the comedy film Son of Sardaar 2, starring Ajay Devgn, Mrunal Thakur, Ravi Kishan and Sanjay Mishra. Directed by Vijay Kumar Arora, the film is set to be released theatrically on August 1. The movie will also feature Mukul Dev posthumously. Disclaimer: Comments reflect users' views, not News18's.
