Amorim is the right man for Man Utd, says Ugarte
Finishing 15th in the Premier League was nowhere near good enough for Manchester United last season but the players still have faith in manager Ruben Amorim, midfielder Manuel Ugarte said.
Amorim took charge of United in November last year but guided them to just seven wins in 27 league matches and their worst-ever finish in the Premier League.
They also failed to qualify for the Champions League as they lost the Europa League final 1-0 to Tottenham Hotspur.
"We have to improve things," Ugarte told British media.
"We are all very motivated, because we believe in the coach, we believe in what he wants and that is very important," added the Uruguayan, who also played under Amorim at Sporting.
"Last year we made some changes, we changed our coach, we changed our formation.
"You have to have responsibilities when you play for United. Sometimes the connections take time to get to know each other. I already know the league, the rivals, which is important."

United will play two pre-season matches in the U.S., taking on Bournemouth in Chicago on Wednesday and facing Everton in Atlanta on Sunday, before returning home to face Fiorentina at Old Trafford on August 9.

Monaco's triumph came after an intense battle through six inshore races in the Solent, and the decisive Fastnet finale, beating the Royal Hong Kong Yacht Club into second place with Italy's Yacht Club Costa Smeralda completing the podium. The victory was spearheaded by Pierre Casiraghi, vice-president of the Monaco Yacht Club and co-skipper of the Carkeek 42 Jolt 6, who could barely contain his disbelief at the achievement. "Honestly, I still can't quite believe what we've achieved. To win the Admiral's Cup in its revival year and with Monaco's first ever participation is beyond words," said Casiraghi. "I'm not a professional helm and this was the most exhausting race I've ever done." The Monaco team executed their strategy perfectly in the crucial Fastnet Race, with Casiraghi crediting navigator Will Harris as "phenomenal" and praising the team's resilience under pressure from rival monohull yachts Callisto and Beau Ideal. "For Monaco, this is historic. We're a small place, but we've just shown we can achieve great things," Casiraghi added, already hinting at a possible title defence despite admitting he's too exhausted to contemplate "another offshore race on a 42-footer any time soon." It was the first time Endo played in the Liverpool shirt in his own country as the Premier League champions beat Yokohama 3-1 in a pre-season friendly. "I supported this club actually and I went to (a) trial but I couldn't join this club. Now I came back here as a player of (Liverpool). It was a dream-come-true moment," the 32-year-old told Liverpool's official website. "It was an amazing moment for me because I came back to Japan as a Liverpool player. For me, it meant a lot."
