
Teenaged driver killed in head-on collision at Brassall in Queensland
A teenager has died in a head-on collision.
He was behind the wheel of a white Mazda when it crashed with a white Kia Seltos on Fernvale Rd at Brassall — a suburb of Ipswich in Queensland — about 8.40pm on Friday.
The 18-year-old man died at the scene.
The 24-year-old woman behind the wheel of the Kia was taken to the Princess Alexandra Hospital for treatment.
'Forensic Crash Unit investigations remain ongoing to determine the circumstances leading up to the crash,' Queensland Police said.
Anyone who witnessed the crash or has any relevant dashcam footage has been urged to come forward.

About 8.40pm, a white Mazda 3 travelling on Fernvale Road, Ipswich, collided head on with a white Kia Seltos, police said. The driver and sole occupant of the Mazda, an 18-year-old Brassall man, died at the scene. The 24-year-old woman driving the Kia was taken to Princess Alexandra Hospital in Brisbane for treatment. In a second incident overnight, police charged a 29-year-old man with multiple offences, including dangerous operation of a vehicle, after he was found to have intentionally driven a car at pedestrians north of Brisbane. Emergency services were called to a car park on St Smith Road in Beachmere just before 1am on Saturday following reports that a man was intentionally driving a black Nissan X-Trail at pedestrians. A 45-year-old man sustained non-life-threatening injuries to his lower body after he was struck by the Nissan. He was taken to Caboolture Hospital in a stable condition.
