Yahoo20-03-2025

Aubrey Plaza and Jeff Baena were separated months before Baena's death, according to a medical examiner's report.
Plaza, 40, and Baena, 47, separated in September 2024, and a month later, Baena made "concerning remarks" to Plaza that "prompted her to call a friend to perform a welfare check on her husband," according to a report from the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner-Coroner, which was obtained by PEOPLE.
Following the welfare check in October 2024, Baena had been going to therapy. The documents detail how Baena had been "experiencing recent marital difficulties" with Plaza. The writer-director died by suicide on Friday, Jan. 3.
Plaza last received a text message from Baena on the day of his death at 10:36 a.m. ET. The report stated that Baena's body was found by his dogwalker, who entered the residence and discovered Baena's body.
Following Baena's death, Plaza and the family of her late husband called his passing as an "unimaginable tragedy."
'We are deeply grateful to everyone who has offered support. Please respect our privacy during this time," a statement to PEOPLE read.

Baena had more than a dozen directing and film credits to his name. Notably, he made his directorial debut by writing and directing Life After Beth, a zombie comedy starring Plaza, and then created an anthology series titled Cinema Toast, which aired on Showtime in 2021 and marked Plaza's own directorial debut.
He met and started dating Plaza in 2011. Fans learned that the two had tied the knot in May 2021, when Plaza, 40, referred to Baena as her "darling husband" in an Instagram post.
A rep later confirmed to PEOPLE that the couple had tied the knot.
'I think that one of the great things about our careers is that we are forced to be independent, take little breaks, go off and do our things and come back," Plaza said about their relationship in a 2019 interview with PEOPLE. "So it's kind of fun. Nothing is ever the same. You don't want to spend too much time a part. But I think that there's a way that it can work and there's a balance in that.'

Sydney Sweeney Gained 30 Pounds for 'Crazy' Christy Martin Biopic Transformation

Sydney Sweeney is revealing the details of her 'crazy' body transformation to play professional boxer Christy Martin. During a Monday profile with W Magazine, the Euphoria actress opened up about the rigorous training schedule she endured to portray the boxer. Sweeney went through three and a half months of training, which resulted in her gaining over 30 pounds for the role. More from The Hollywood Reporter Kansas City Chiefs' Foolish Club Studios Sets Executive Team (Exclusive) Whoopi Goldberg Co-Founded All Women's Sports Network, Pluto TV Launch FAST Channel Coco Gauff vs. Aryna Sabalenka: How to Stream the French Open Women's Final Online for Free 'I came onboard to play Christy, and I had about three and a half months of training,' she said. 'I started eating. I weight-trained in the morning for an hour, kickboxed midday for about two hours, and then weight-trained again at night for an hour.' Sweeney admitted that 'my body was completely different' because of all the training, which led to her not being able to 'fit in any of my clothes.' 'I'm usually a size 23 in jeans, and I was wearing a size 27,' Sweeney recounted. 'My boobs got bigger. And my butt got huge. It was crazy! I was like, 'Oh my God.'' Still, the Emmy nominee didn't mind the shift in physical appearance. 'It was amazing: I was so strong, like crazy strong,' she added. Sweeney confirmed she was starring in the forthcoming Martin biopic in October of last year 'thanks to some paps in bushes,' she wrote on Instagram at the time. When announcing the news, she shared a photo of herself as Martin, sporting brown curly hair and toned arms. Martin is regarded as one of the most prolific female boxers of all time, beginning her career in 1989 before she retired in 2012. She won the WBC female super welterweight world champion title in 2009 and is the only female boxer to cover Sports Illustrated. Martin nearly died in 2010 when her husband, Jim Martin, stabbed her and shot her in the chest. After surviving the murder attempt, Jim was sentenced to 25 years in prison. 'Over the past few months, I've been immersed in training to bring to life the story of an incredible woman — a true champion who fought battles both inside and outside the ring,' Sweeney wrote. 'Her journey is a testament to resilience, strength, and hope, and I'm honored to step into her shoes to share her powerful story with you all. More to come soon.' Tom Holland Makes Surprise Appearance at Bero Pop-Up Bar in Los Angeles

Tom Holland surprised fans by serving them drinks at a Bero pop-up The Spider-Man actor is the co-founder of the non-alcoholic beer brand, which launched in October 2024 'Double Tasty West Coast Style IPA' joins Noon Wheat, Edgy Hill Hazy IPA and Kingston Golden Pils as Bero's lineupTom Holland's latest Bero flavor has officially arrived! On Saturday, June 7, the 29-year-old actor and non-alcoholic beer brand co-founder surprised fans at a Bero pop-up at Cinespia's Once Upon a Time in Hollywood screening at the Hollywood Forever Cemetery in Los Angeles. As brand ambassadors provided Bero's lineup of non-alcoholic beers to a long line of attendees, Holland sneakily made his way to the bar and began serving drinks himself. Double Tasty West Coast Style IPA is the latest beverage to join the brand's three other flavors, which include Noon Wheat, Edgy Hill Hazy IPA and Kingston Golden Pils. All were available as crowds descended upon the easy-to-spot bar, adorned with orange, gold and green balloons to coordinate with Bero's branding. After making sure everyone was taken care of, Holland also said a few words to the crowd before Once Upon a Time in Hollywood was shown against the back of the cemetery's mausoleum from a projection screen. 'This is the coolest thing I've ever seen," the Spider-Man star said once he thanked Cinespia for having him. He continued, 'I am here tonight representing Bero and we are launching our new Double Tasty West Coast IPA, so I could not be prouder to be launching that here, in the West Coast, in my second home. So if you haven't already, go to our booth, the Beros are free, the drinks are on us tonight.' 'Enjoy this evening, enjoy this movie in arguably the coolest way possible. Stay safe, folks. Thank you for all the love and support. I love you all. This is so exciting, and have a great night,' Holland said as fans cheered him on. 'Thank you so much! It's f---ing Bero!' The most recent flavor was released just one day after Holland's June 1 birthday after the brand's official launch in October 2024. A press release Bero shared with PEOPLE calls Double Tasty 'a bold, hop-forward addition' to the portfolio. 'While the West Coast IPA is widely known for its Californian roots, its lineage traces back to Britain, where pale ales and IPAs first laid the groundwork for hop-centric brewing,' the release adds. 'Bero's version bridges these two traditions, honoring the precision of British technique and the unapologetic character of the American West.' Saturday's Once Upon a Time screening was presented by Cinespia, Amazon MGM Studios, Prime Video and Wondery. Read the original article on People

Scarlett Johansson Says Dating Men Outside of Hollywood Caused 'Jealousy' Since Actors Get 'Very Intimate'

NEED TO KNOW Scarlett Johansson discussed strains in relationships with people who don't work as actors "I've had serious relationships with people that were not in the industry, and I found one of the challenges was that the person had no idea of what I needed to do my job," she said Johansson is married to Saturday Night Live's Colin Jost, and she was previously married to Ryan Reynolds and Romain Dauriac Scarlett Johansson is reflecting on relationship strains caused by dating someone outside the entertainment industry. During Johansson's Interview magazine conversation with Stranger Things and Thunderbolts* star David Harbour published on Tuesday, June 10, the actors discussed their proclivities toward dating actors and artists rather than "normal people," as Harbour, 50, put it. Advertisement "I've had serious relationships with people that were not in the industry, and I found one of the challenges was that the person had no idea of what I needed to do my job," said Johansson, 40. "Obviously, if I was dating an oncologist, I wouldn't know what they needed to do for their job. But it's not so abstract." Johansson shares son Cosmo, 3, with husband Colin Jost and daughter Rose, 10, with ex-husband Romain Dauriac. She also noted that romantic relationships between actors and those who do not work in entertainment sometimes see tensions rise due to the nature of actors' jobs. "I also think it's easy to create a lot of jealousy when a person is not involved in the industry, because actors by nature are very free-spirited and they create very intimate relationships with people at work," she said. "They can be loyal to a partner and also very engaged in all these other kinds of relationships, and I think it can be a blurry line for some people." "If I'm in a town, I like to go to the little restaurant and movie theater, but I don't like a lot of variation. I like things to be, I don't want to say rigorous, but you want a routine." Johansson and Jost recently appeared together at the 2025 Cannes Film Festival in support of Johansson's directorial debut Eleanor the Great. She most recently appeared on the big screen in Wes Anderson's The Phoenician Scheme, and will star in Jurassic World Rebirth, in theaters July 2. Read the original article on People
