Strictly Come Dancing's ‘super-spoiler' earns MORE than stars are paid by leaking result as he's unmasked for first time

The Sun26-06-2025
STRICTLY Come Dancing's "super-spoiler" is raking in a record fee from the BBC series - without even stepping foot on the dancefloor.
The well-informed Lancashire male, who leaks the weekly Results Show outcomes on his website and page on X, has now also been unmasked for the first time.

Dave Thorp is the individual who, with the help of his show moles, lets slip the nail-biting elimination during Strictly 's annual run.
The spoilers sometimes delight fans eager to be first to the intel, yet others are left devastated as their BBC One viewing experience is marred by the revelations, which come a day ahead of transmission.
The software engineering student, 45, has been in situ as the show's resident spoiler for more than a decade - and rakes in a reported £5,000 per month for the privilege.
And it appears Preston-based Dave, who has previously denied working for the BBC, is set to continue his Strictly spoiler lifestyle.
A source told how he has links with an insider who tells him who is in the Dance Off - filmed on Saturdays but aired to the public on Sundays - and who is given the boot.
They claim he has had no threats from show bosses and told MailOnline: "The money Thorp is making from giving away the Strictly results is ridiculous.
"He can sometimes earn up to £5,000 a month when the show is airing.
"On a bad month it's around £3,000, but that's not bad money for simply revealing a result and writing a bit of text around it.
"He has someone involved on the show leaking him the results and Strictly have no clue who it is.
Iconic Olympian Mo Farah in talks to join Strictly Come Dancing as BBC bid to clean up scandal-hit show
"They used to think it was audience members but Thorp still found out which celebrities had been voted out during the lockdown series, which was filmed at Elstree Studios without an audience.'
"But bosses don't seem too concerned as they haven't tried to stop him.
"He's had no legal threats or even just a polite request to stop spoiling the result.
"So I imagine he'll just keep on going."

DETAIL REVEAL
Dave previously addressed his unique role on his Strictly spoiler website.
He answers a series of Frequently Asked Questions from followers - including how he obtained his spoilers in the first place.
In a candid confession Dave wrote: "I work closely with a number of other spoiler sources and together we source moles for the various shows who are willing to tell us the results."
He then insisted he had no connection to the BBC itself and said: "I'm not a BBC employee either presently or formerly and have no connection with the show (if I was I would have been fired a long time ago for breaching the official secrets act or whatever the BBC equivalent is).
"I'm just a Strictly fan who finds it ludicrous that in a day and age where information can be transmitted globally in the blink of an eye, that the BBC would still think it is a good idea to pre record the results show of their flagship reality TV show and broadcast it a whole day after the event."

Watch the moment S Club's Hannah Spearritt quits on DAY ONE of Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins

THIS is the moment S Club's Hannah Spearritt quit Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins on day one. Hannah, 44, is one of 14 famous faces taking part in the gruelling Channel 4 show. 5 5 They were thrown in at the deep end - quite literally - straight out the gates. For their first challenge, the celebrities had to jump from a height into the sea before swimming to a buoy in time to be picked up by a speedboat. The Challenge was brutal for all of them, and so when it came to doing the second mission in one day, Hannah didn't look in a good way. As the celebrities stood in line carrying their large backpacks, Hannah wavered, closing her eyes and sighing, having told her co-stars on the journey there that she "felt faint". The famous faces were ordered to move off, but Hannah hung back and told the SAS instructors that she was calling it quits. Pulling off her numbered black arm band, she struggled as she said: "Sorry, I'm done." The special forces officer exclaimed: "You're kidding me?!" but Hannah weakly shook her head and said: "Sorry...I've reached a point." As she was sent away, she was then seen in a piece to camera before embarking on the mission saying: "I am pretty determined. I don't think I give up easily. "But whether I'll get to the end or not? I mean...I don't think I'll go on the first day, I just wouldn't forgive myself." Sadly, that's exactly what happened, but she wasn't the only one, as Louie Spence also quit later in the show. Paul Cattermole's death changed everything… I don't know if I'll sing with S Club again, says Hannah Spearritt Hannah's exit was leaked ahead of the series starting this evening, with a source telling MailOnline Hannah "truly believed" a stint on the programme could "turn things around for her." They added: "But sadly she just couldn't hack it and walked on the first day. It was all rather embarrassing." The Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins line up also include Love Islander's Adam Collard, Tasha Ghouri and Chloe Burrows, Rebecca Loos and former footballer Troy Deeney. 5 5

Louise Redknapp lets her hair down at Wembley Stadium as she enjoys a rare night out with eldest son Charley, 21, at Oasis reunion show

Louise Redknapp and her eldest son Charley enjoyed a rare night out together as she took him to see Oasis perform at Wembley Stadium on Saturday evening. The 50-year-old singer - who shares two sons, Charley and Beau, with ex-husband Jamie Redknapp - treated her oldest to an unforgettable gig in London. Brothers Liam, 52, and Noel, 58, are currently touring the UK on their long-awaited reunion tour, marking their first time on stage together in more than 16 years. And devoted mum Louise went to see all the action at the live show, alongside Charley. Taking to Instagram on Sunday as she reminisced on the night, she wrote: 'You gotta roll with it…. 'What a night! Oasis at Wembley with Chaz.' In the snaps, Louise looked in good spirits beside her son as they watched the iconic band perform some of their greatest hits. They were all smiles as Louise took a few selfies and video to capture the night. She sang into the camera as Charley looked ecstatic beside his mum. Louise looked super cool in a white top and leopard neck scarf, whilst Charley opted for some Oasis merch. He bared a strong resemblance to his mum in the photos. Other stars at the event on Saturday included Liam Gallagher's ex-wife Nicole Appleton and her pal Emma Bunton. It is not the first time Nicole has watched Liam perform as she took her daughter Skipper, five, who she shares with her husband Stephen Haines, last year. The mother-daughter duo watched both Gene perform with his band Villanelle and Liam at the same gig at the O2 Arena. Elsewhere on Saturday, Liam's daughter Molly Moorish-Gallagher, 27 - who he shares with his ex Lisa Moorish - was also in attendance at his Oasis Wembley gig. It's been almost a month since the siblings performed together for the first time in 16 years following an epic falling out backstage in Paris which sparked the band's split. While it's been feared that a major bust-up between the once-warring brothers could put a halt to the live shows, their latest gig showed that the pair are still on track. Liam made a sweet onstage gesture to his brother Noel as they took to the stage on Wednesday. As they continued their Oasis '25 tour at during their third show at Wembley, Liam left fans in awe as he dedicated a song to his older brother, 58. Ahead of belting out his next track, Liam told the crowd: 'Now I've gotta dedicate this next tune to our kid - Stand By Me', reports The Sun. The emotional moment was captured by a fan who shared a clip to X, with music lovers rushing to the comments to share how it made them feel.

Love Island ‘winners' revealed ahead of least loved-up final EVER as survey tells all about why viewers keep tuning in

LOVE Island hosts its least loved-up final ever tonight – with no official couples up for the crown. Three of the four contenders are 'exclusively dating', but none has said, 'I love you' or officially become boyfriend and girlfriend. 6 6 6 It would seem, though, that this is exactly how viewers like it. Our exclusive poll of readers found that just five per cent of you watch the show 'for love' — and the rest tune in for the 'drama'. Some 51 per cent said they are drawn by explosive scenes, while 44 per cent said they want a mix. And TV ratings suggest the show is enjoying a revival, with viewing figures surging back towards 2022 levels, when winners Ekin-Su Culculoglu and Davide Sanclimenti set our screens alight with drama. An average 2.7million tune in to watch each Love Island episode, and the current series has reached 145million streams on ITVX. So what drama has seen viewers fall back in love with the ITV2 dating show this series? Explosive love triangles have kept fans on the edge of their seats, with gold trader and semi-pro footballer Harry Cooksley flip-flopping between two girls, Shakira Khan and Helena Ford. Another footie star to play the field is Harrison Solomon, stringing along Toni Laites and Lauren Wood. Meanwhile, personal trainer Dejon Williams continually pushed the boundaries with Meg Moore to flirt with other bombshells. The girls were at it too, though, as Toni dabbled with Cach Mercer and Harrison, while Yasmin Pettet caught the attention of a number of the lads before she found Jamie Rhodes in Casa Amor. And there was savage bullying among the girls, notably from Meg. Some of the toxic behaviour prompted Women's Aid to raise concerns over the men 'lying, manipulating and covering for each other', branding it misogyny. Many viewers complained about the show to Ofcom, including eight per cent of readers in our poll. Some 29 per cent said they wanted to log a concern but didn't. You exposed Harry as the villain of the series, with 32 per cent of the vote, followed by Meg on 22 and Harrison on 15 per cent. An uptick in the amount of sex screened by producers also boosted the drama, with 22 per cent of readers saying the raunchy scenes made the show more interesting. Tonight's finalists are Yasmin and Jamie; Toni and Cach; Angel Swift and Ty Isherwood, who are all 'exclusive'; and Harry and Shakira. Sun readers have hailed Yasmin and Jamie their winners with 28 per cent of the vote, followed by Toni and Cach on 18.9 per cent and Shakira and Harry a whisker behind with 18.7 per cent. 'Something real' Some 27 per cent think Yasmin and Jamie will last on the outside. Conor Phillips and Megan Clarke were axed during Friday's episode, then Meg and Dejon left last night. Our poll was done while all five couples were still in the villa. During their final dates of this series, Yasmin told Jamie: 'When I met you, the waters just seemed to calm', while Jamie confessed: 'I feel like this is something real.' 6 6 6 Toni told Cach she felt 'taken care of'. He gifted her a necklace and asked her to be exclusive. Ty gushed to Angel: 'My feelings are growing for you every day', while she admitted: 'I've got feelings for you. I like it.' And Harry gave Shakira a necklace and a turtle pendant, her favourite animal. Maya Jama hosts tonight's final live from the villa. Some 60 per cent backed her as host, but 16 per cent felt she had 'clocked out'. Love Island final tonight, 9pm, ITV2. BULLIES MUST STOP By FELICITY CROSS EVEN in the 1800s, Jane Austen knew the path to true love should never run smooth. Who wants a happy ever after just five minutes in? It's clear Love Island bosses agree and, when launching this summer's series at the TV villa, executive producer Mike Spencer-Hayter told me to expect more twists, turns and drama than ever before. The decision made for must-watch telly and long-dormant WhatsApp groups have come alive, with my fortysomething friends once more desperate for all my Love Island gossip. But there's also been some truly horrible behaviour, with some of the lads treating the girls appallingly. Can we make love without war? It's a balance PR-savvy ITV will need to find next year if the show is to survive.
