The Seattle Seahawks recently signed two veteran role players in tight end Eric Saubert and wide receiver River Cracraft. Both talents will attempt to capture a rotational role for new offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak. Saubert and Cracraft project as 53-man roster additions to the 2025 Seahawks.
Over The Cap has since updated the terms of both contracts. Saubert's deal with Seattle is a one-year agreement worth $1.4 million. The former San Francisco 49er will earn a base salary of $1.255 million with $350,000 in guarantees. Saubert is scheduled to carry a cap charge of just under $1.2 million this coming season.
It's a similar agreement for Cracraft, who inked a one-year contract worth $1.170 million. The 31-year-old receiver possesses a base salary of $1.170 million with a scheduled cap charge of $1,030,000 million, per OTC.
Saubert appeared in all 17 games for the 49ers last season. Primarily playing a blocking role, he recorded 11 receptions on 14 targets for 97 yards and one touchdown. He'll mostly play in-line for Kubiak. Cracraft played eight games for the Miami Dolphins, totaling seven catches for 66 yards.

Kyle Shanahan Gets Brutally Honest on 49ers' Injury Woes

Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. Last year, Kyle Shanahan and the San Francisco 49ers battled injuries all season long and finished just 6-11 largely as a result of their inability to stay healthy. Fast forward to 2025 NFL training camp, and it's more of the same for Shanahan's squad. The 49ers have been absolutely ravaged by injuries this summer, so much so that they actually had to trade for Kansas City Chiefs bust Skyy Moore just to shore up their ailing receiving corps (Demarcus Robinson's three-game suspension also played a role in that). More news: Detroit Lions QB Could be NFL's Most Compelling Trade Candidate So, what is the issue? Shanahan opened up on San Francisco's health woes this week, and he didn't really have much of an answer other than to say that it's just something the Niners have to deal with. San Francisco lost another lead in the fourth quarter against the Seahawks. More Thearon W. Henderson/Getty Images "It's pretty tough," Shanahan told reporters (h/t 49ers Webzone). "If it's a challenge for the fans, I promise you guys, it's a bigger challenge for me, just dealing with all this. We haven't had the best luck this year — down probably more guys than we've had. It's a tough situation. You've got to keep practicing because we've got to improve, we've got to be ready for the season, we've got to continue to get better for the season, but it does make that a huge challenge with the number of guys we've had down." The 49ers entered 2024 with quite arguably the NFL's most loaded roster on paper and were coming off of a Super Bowl appearance. However, we never actually got to see San Francisco hit its stride thanks to so many of its top players not being able to stay on the field. More news: Denver Broncos Could Acquire Deion Sanders' Son You would have thought that it was just a string of bad luck for the Niners last season, but it may be deeper than that, with some wondering if Shanahan is pushing his players too hard in practice. The 49ers will open up their regular season on the road against the Seattle Seahawks on Sept. 7. Whether or not they will actually be healthier by then remains to be seen. Stephen A. Smith on Micah Parsons impasse: ‘Don't let that brother get in an Eagles uniform'

Drama continues to surround the Dallas Cowboys and defensive end Micah Parsons as contract extension negotiations remain stalled. Parsons has demanded a trade, a request the Cowboys have denied. On Tuesday's episode of 'First Take,' ESPN commentator Stephen A. Smith said that if the Cowboys have no other choice but to deal him to another team because they can't agree on a contract, they have to find another team other than the Eagles to get draft assets. 'Where is he going to go if he forces his way out and you all can't reach some kind of accord?' Smith asked. 'This is the National Football League. Listen, I know you don't want him to, and I know that you'll do everything you can to prevent it from happening. Don't let that brother get in an Eagles uniform. He's from Pennsylvania. Don't let him get in an Eagles uniform.' Parsons grew up in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, and went to college at Penn State. Although it is unlikely that the Cowboys would trade Parsons, the Eagles are equipped to make a deal. Including the compensatory picks the Eagles are expected to gain after losing defensive tackle Milton Williams, defensive end Josh Sweat and offensive lineman Mekhi Becton, they are projected to have 13 selections next season, five of which are in the first three rounds of the draft. Smith also took aim at the massive contracts the Cowboys are already paying quarterback Dak Prescott and wide receiver CeeDee Lamb, putting them in a big financial crunch if they add Parsons' deal. According to Over The Cap, in 2025, Prescott and Lamb will count $65 million against their salary cap, with Parsons already costing the Cowboys $24 million. 'Even when the cap gets elevated next year, assuming that Micah Parsons gets signed, you're going to have about $50 million or so for 45 other players,' Smith said. 'Considering how bad their cap situation is, that's problematic for the Dallas Cowboys. That's why when you look at trading Parsons, although it's something that I would strongly advise against, I think the brother is a stud and you want to keep him because he's a stud.' Reports: Chiefs trade WR Skyy Moore to 49ers

The Kansas City Chiefs traded wide receiver Skyy Moore to the San Francisco 49ers on Wednesday, according to multiple media reports. The Chiefs also reportedly sent a seventh-round draft pick to the Niners, who traded a sixth-round pick to the Chiefs in return. The 49ers were searching for help at wide receiver after receiving news Wednesday that receiver Demarcus Robinson was suspended for three games for a substance-abuse-policy violation. Fellow 49ers receivers Brandon Aiyuk (knee) and Jauan Jennings (calf) are also dealing with injuries. Aiyuk is expected to miss more than a month of the regular season as he recovers from an ACL tear. Jennings has not practiced for most of training camp. Moore, a second-round pick in 2022, had 43 receptions for 494 yards and one touchdown in his three-year career with Kansas City. He did not catch a pass and was targeted just three times in six games last season, but he caught a touchdown pass in the fourth quarter of Super Bowl LVII as the Chiefs beat the Philadelphia Eagles 38-35. --Field Level Media Field Level Media 2025 - All Rights Reserved
