Husband transforms into mermaid to support Guernsey Motor Neurone
"They're a brilliant charity... any form of support you could imaging they are there, they are ready to help and willing to help, they are amazing," he said."I wanted to do something to mark my birthday, I'll be 42 this year... I was thinking about it and at my birthday party I stood up and told everyone I was going to do it and that was that." Mr Falla explained every year there was a different theme and this year's was Under the Sea. "As Daisy heard about it she said 'you've got to go with Ariel', so that was it," he said."I said I'd better check with the boys first and they were all great sports and they said 'if that's what Daisy wants, that's what's happening', so the four of us are dressing up as mermaids and doing it."
Mr Falla added: "Three of the boys came through and said 'yes I'll do that with you mate'... I'm so thankful for their support."I think any marathon, whether it's got alcohol involved or not, a lot of people say the event gets you through and I'm sure this will be just a load of fun on the day."He said he was more worried about the food than the alcohol. "I do love food and drink but running around and eating oysters and steak and cheese I'm not sure," he said."I'll be thinking about my wife when I cross the finish line... and then I'll be really proud of all the money that we've raised and be proud of finishing the distance."

Emmerdale fans divided over shock kiss
This article contains spoilers for tonight's Emmerdale, which has not yet aired on TV but is available to watch now on ITVX. Emmerdale fans have been divided after Charity Dingle (Emma Atkins) cheated on husband Mack Boyd (Lawrence Robb) with her ex-fiancé Vanessa Woodfield (Michelle Hardwick). Charity was struggling after losing the baby she was carrying as a surrogate for Sarah Sugden (Katie Hill), and took herself to the pub to get wine drunk in the middle of the day. Noticing that Charity was on the path to self destruction, Vanessa took her home and, after consuming even more wine, Charity leaned in to kiss her. For some Emmerdale fans, this is the moment they have been dreaming of ever since Vanessa and Charity split in 2020. Others, however, have grown fond of Charity and Mack's relationship. Therefore, it is no surprise that there has been a mixed reaction to the sudden kiss from Metro readers. 'No I like Charity and Mack together,' Marie Leith told us on Facebook, and she is not the only one rooting for the couple, who have been married since 2023. 'Please don't put those two together again. I like Charity and [Mack] as a couple,' Jo King pleaded, while Diane Mcdougall agreed: 'M +C Together.' Several other Metro readers agreed that they would prefer to keep Vanessa and Charity's relationship in the past, with Elaine Saunders saying: 'Please don't go there again.' On the flip side, there are many Metro readers who are desperate to see Vanessa and Charity, or Vanity as they have been known, back together. The couple share a rich history, having first kissed unexpectedly while locked in the cellar of the Woolpack together. They supported each other through some incredibly tough times, including Charity's revelation that she was sexually abused as a child and Vanessa's battle with bowel cancer. As a lesbian myself, I am definitely team Vanity! With their first ever kiss having aired on my 18th birthday, I was obviously invested from the get-go. Not only are they great representation for lesbians, they also have a really interesting dynamic. Vanessa draws out the softer side of Charity while Charity brings out Vanessa's feistiness. I don't know if they are a couple who would ultimately work long-term, but I do think there is some unfinished business that I'd love for Emmerdale to explore. They even adopted each other's youngest children, though ultimately their relationship wasn't meant to be. However, this kiss has given Vanity fans hope that maybe something will be rekindled. 'Hoping they can find their way back to each other. Vanity are endgame. Thank you Emmerdale,' Ally Kiesslinger wrote, adding: '5 years later and they still have the chemistry yay.' Shanna Rattan agreed, and even called for Charity to end things with Mack. 'Vanity endgame let's hope Charity dumps Mack,' she said. Who do you think Charity should be with? Over on Twitter/X, Metro readers were equally as excited, with user @My6Percent comparing the kiss to a religious holiday for the LGBTQ+ community. 'I was not prepared for Queer Christmas to start so early!' They wrote. Despite the length of time Charity and Vanessa have been apart, Michelle thought this kiss was 'worth the wait', adding: 'It still feels like a dream oh my gosh what an ending.' Meanwhile, Serabee revealed that they 'screamed and cried' during the scene, before going on to beg Emmerdale 'not to spoil this, to let it be something'. How things are set to play out between Charity, Vanessa and Mack from here remains to be seen, but there will surely be some juicy drama ahead. More Trending When I spoke to actress Michelle Hardwick at the British Soap Awards this year, she refused to rule out a Vanity reunion. 'Everything changes so quickly, and from script to script. You never know. But hey, Vanessa's single! Who knows what's going to happen?' She told me. Abbey Clancy flashes her svelte physique in a gold skimpy bikini and sports trendy £430 Gucci bucket hat on luxury south of France holiday with shirtless husband Peter Crouch
Abbey Clancy flashed her svelte physique in a gold skimpy bikini as she enjoyed a day at the beach in the south of France with her shirtless husband Peter Crouch on Tuesday. The bikini-clad model, 39, was every inch the style icon in a trendy £430 Gucci bucket hat and stylish crochet cover up. Former footballer Peter, 44, showed off his abs as he strolled along the beach in turtle pattern shorts. Abbey looked as though she couldn't bare the sweltering heat as she wrapped a scarf around her head to keep out of the sun. Abbey and Peter's trip to France comes just days after they holidayed in Almancil, Portugal with their children. The loved-up couple share four children - Sophia, 14, Liberty, ten, Johnny, seven, and Jack, six. Peter and Abbey, who married in 2011, looked more than loved-up on their relaxing break away. The couple jetted off for their sun-soaked holiday just weeks after celebrating their 14th wedding anniversary. They got married at Stapleford Park on June 30, 2011, and renewed their vows in the Maldives to mark their ten-year anniversary. Abbey recently opened up on the way she's kept her marriage to Peter thriving over the years. She admitted the key was 'growing together' throughout time with Peter and always staying 'in sync' with him. 'When we look back at our wedding day, some of the choices we've made, some things we've done in the past, we're like ''Bloody hell, who were we then?'',' the TV star told The Mirror. 'But today? We're still in sync, we've got the same interests and the same things that make us laugh. It's really a happy time for us at the moment. 'We honestly do everything together, except work - actually even work, because we have our podcast.' Peter later slipped into a blue linen shirt as he sipped on a glass of wine The couple jetted off for their sun-soaked holiday just weeks after celebrating their 14th wedding anniversary The model looked incredibly stylish in her beach wear The couple often give humorous insights into their relationship on their podcast, The Therapy Crouch, not shying away from discussing anything and everything. During one chat on their podcast, the couple revealed the strict rule they've placed on their four children to improve their behaviour. They implemented an iPad and phone ban at Christmas, insisting it's led to a more positive attitude in their household. Peter explained: 'We said to them iPads and phones are gone and I feel we've stuck to that. We made a conscious effort amongst ourselves to cut them out and they've properly cut them out.' They mentioned other rules they've put in place include focusing on homework, spending time as a family before having quality time together once the kids go to bed. Though their new rules were a success, it is not always plain-sailing and Abbey admitted Peter can sometimes get on her nerves when it comes to parenting. She told OK! magazine: 'Pete's good cop and I'm bad cop. I'm the one going, 'Do your homework, eat your veg', and Pete's like, 'Let's play, kids!' which can be annoying but… it works. 'Our kids are very good, though. They've all got distinct personalities but they're all easy-going. That's not to say family life isn't chaotic – it's chaotic! There's absolutely nothing chilled about, but we wouldn't have it any other way.'
