An unexpected medical emergency led to a car accident in Brinchang, Cameron Highlands, where a Perodua Myvi crashed into a crowd of people around noon on Sunday (June 15).
"The 22-year-old driver was travelling from Brinchang towards Kea Farm when he suffered a seizure," said Cameron Highlands OCPD Supt Azri Ramli.
""This caused him to lose control of the vehicle, which then veered off the road and struck the pedestrians," he said, adding that a 24-year-old man and three young girls aged 2, 8, and 10 were hit by the car.
"Fortunately, all the victims sustained only minor injuries and were discharged after receiving treatment at Hospital Sultanah Hajjah Kalsom."
Supt Azri further noted that the driver, who has a history of epilepsy, had no prior traffic violations and tested negative for drugs.
"A summons has been issued to the driver, and we urge the public not to spread unverified information," he added, emphasising the importance of accurate information dissemination.

JOHOR BARU: A teacher, who was absent from school for over nine months, has been found dead at her house here. The body of the 39-year-old woman was found by her neighbour on Thursday, several weeks after she is believed to have died. She was last seen alive by her neighbour on May 18. 'The body was discovered by a neighbour who noticed a foul smell coming from the house, said Iskandar Puteri OCPD Asst Comm M. Kumarasan. 'The cause of death could not be ascertained because the body was too decomposed,' he said. He said the woman, a teacher at a school in Taman Tunku Aminah, had not reported for work since Sept 24 last year. The school had tried to reach out to her several times but she had not been home when colleagues came calling. ACP Kumarasan said the case has been classified as sudden death and no criminal elements have been found. 'We are now identifying the next of kin of the woman,' he said, adding that the teacher was not married and lived alone. On Saturday, a Chinese primary school posted a heartfelt tribute to the teacher, identified as Lo Kwang Fong (pic), on its Facebook page after learning of her passing. 'After days of relentless investigation by the police, it has been confirmed that our dearly respected teacher has tragically passed away at the age of 39. 'The devastating news has brought immense grief to all. Teacher Lo was a role model who was gentle, humble, dedicated, and well-loved by her peers. 'She poured her heart into the field of education, always upholding a spirit of care for her students and a strong sense of responsibility,' read the post in Mandarin. In the same post, the school also appealed for help in locating the woman's next of kin, including an aunt believed to be living in Singapore and other relatives in Taiping, Perak. 'It is understood that teacher Lo was the only child in her family and that both her parents have passed away. 'She may have an aunt in Singapore and relatives in Taiping,' the post added.

The victim, a 23-year-old Afghan man, was driving a Toyota Camry when he allegedly pressed the wrong pedal and crashed through the wall before falling. Based on viral social media videos, the vehicle also crushed several other cars parked below the residential block. Kuala Lumpur Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department (JSPT) chief Assistant Commissioner Mohd Zamzuri Mohd Isa said the incident occurred around 5:38 PM. Initial investigations found that the man, who works as a car washer, allegedly lost control while trying to park a customer's vehicle after washing it. Accelerator Mix-Up Leads to Dramatic Plunge He allegedly pressed the accelerator by mistake, causing the vehicle to crash through the wall and fall from the third floor before crushing a Proton Iriz and a Perodua Myvi parked below the building. Police also confirmed that neither of the owners of the crushed vehicles was in their cars during the incident. The victim suffered serious injuries and was taken to the University Malaya Medical Centre (UMMC) for further treatment. 59 cops sacked over misconduct between January and May

MARAN: A total of 59 police officers and rank-and-file personnel were dismissed between January and May this year over misconduct, including narcotics-related offences. Bukit Aman Integrity and Standards Compliance Department (JIPS) director Datuk Seri Azri Ahmad said 492 police personnel faced disciplinary action in the same period. "Integrity-related offences topped the list of disciplinary cases at 333 cases, followed by governance offences at 45 cases, narcotics offences at 42 cases, criminal activity at 38 cases, syariah offences at 19 cases and bribery at 15 cases. "Of the personnel involved in disciplinary proceedings, 59 were dismissed, while others faced other actions, including suspension from duties," he said after opening the Maran police headquarters here today. Azri said the department received 2,637 complaints and reports of misconduct in the same period, of which 1,892 were officially lodged and 745 were submitted by members of the public. "A total of 776 disciplinary investigation papers and 584 enquiry papers involving 2,076 personnel were opened for misconduct cases in the first five months of 2025." He said to boost transparency and improve information channels, police launched the Aduan JIPS PDRM application on June 4 to provide a more accessible and user-friendly complaints platform. "The application has received 23 complaints. We hope more members of the public will come forward to share information." At the event, Azri was honoured ahead of his retirement on June 26 after 37 years of service. Present were Pahang police chief Datuk Seri Yahaya Othman and Maran police chief Superintendent Wong Kim Wai.
