
Egypt's PM, Uruguay's president discuss Gaza, trade at BRICS summit
Madbouly, who was attending the 17th BRICS summit in Rio de Janeiro on behalf of President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi, briefed the Uruguayan president on Egypt's 'intensive contacts' to reach a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip.
President Orsi praised Egypt's role in achieving peace, security, and stability in the region, and its efforts to secure a ceasefire in Gaza, according to a statement from the Egyptian prime minister's office.
During the meeting, both leaders acknowledged the historical bilateral relations between their countries, which date back to 1932, and affirmed the importance of continuing to strengthen ties in areas of common interest.
Madbouly conveyed greetings from President Sisi to his Uruguayan counterpart and noted the importance of increasing the frequency of high-level visits between the two countries to add momentum to bilateral ties.
The two sides expressed a desire to enhance joint cooperation and bilateral trade. They discussed collaboration in the fields of construction, infrastructure, and pharmaceuticals, where Egyptian companies have experience, as well as increasing trade with Uruguay in livestock and agriculture.
They also discussed expanding the scope of bilateral cooperation to include other areas such as fisheries, tourism, oil and natural gas, and green hydrogen.

"In recent years, the corridor has experienced consistent growth. Whether in LemFi's existing markets, specifically the United States, or in other markets that align with our global expansion ambitions, the Egyptian diaspora is significant, and they deserve quality service, such as the one we offer.' LemFi currently serves over 2 million customers and recently secured $53 million in Series B funding, bringing its total funding to more than $86 million. Backed by investors including Highland Europe, Left Lane Capital, and Y Combinator, the company continues to scale its services across emerging markets.

CAIRO, July 9 (MENA) - Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty has underscored the priority that the Libyan file represents for Egyptian national security as a direct neighboring state. This came during a phone call on Wednesday between Abdelatty and UN Special Envoy to Libya Hanna Tetteh. During the phone conversation, Abdelatty affirmed Egypt's support for UN efforts aimed at launching a political process to resolve the Libyan crisis, Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Tamim Khallaf said. The foreign minister emphasized the importance of respecting Libya's sovereignty, unity, and territorial integrity, and distancing it from foreign interferences. He stressed the necessity of concerted international efforts to implement UN resolutions calling for the withdrawal of all foreign forces, mercenaries, and foreign fighters from Libya in a way that contributes to restoring security and stability in the country. Abdelatty also underlined the importance of unifying the Libyan executive authority on legitimate and consensual grounds that are acceptable to the Libyan people and that support relevant UN efforts. The foreign minister asserted the need to support the inter-Libyan solution path and achieve national consensus without external impositions or interventions, and without bypassing the role of national Libyan institutions. Egypt's Aviation Minister, German ambassador talk airport partnerships
Egypt's Civil Aviation Minister Sameh El-Hefny and German Ambassador to Cairo, Jürgen Scholz, have discussed expanding bilateral cooperation, with a focus on airport development, training, and the exchange of technical expertise, the ministry said in a statement. During the meeting at the ministry's headquarters, El-Hefny welcomed the ambassador and affirmed the deep historical ties between the two countries.
