Nicolas Kuhn netted twice before half-time, giving Celtic the lead, and Reo Hatate sealed the victory with a goal with just under 20 minutes left.
Rodgers said on Sky Sports' end-of-season Celtic programme: "That's my favourite performance of the season.
"Because at the very highest level, we had taken on a team who had an outstanding manager in Marco Rose, Leipzig, who had been in the Champions League for a number of years and had some fantastic players, and we demonstrated at the highest level every part of our game.
"We went behind in the game.
"We showed the courage to counter-press and press the game.
"We go 2-1 up at half-time, then go 3-1 up.
"In the second half, we played some amazing football."
Celtic went on to finish 21st in the league phase of the Champions League.
They qualified for the knockout-stage play-off but were eliminated by Bayern Munich due to a last-minute goal from Alphonso Davies.
Rodgers' side will now face a play-off to qualify for the Champions League in the upcoming season.

'F***ing hell Rio!' Laura Woods turns air blue in unseen TNT Sports footage

Rio Ferdinand signed off 10 years with TNT Sports at Saturday's Champions League final in Munich but he got on the wrong side of presenter Laura Woods pre-match Laura Woods dropped an F-bomb after Rio Ferdinand accidentally interrupted her preparation ahead of the Champions League final. Ferdinand's 10-year spell working as a pundit for TNT Sports, formerly known as BT Sport, came to an end on Saturday, having announced his departure in the week leading up to the final at the Allianz Arena in Munich. The match saw Paris Saint-Germain thrash Inter Milan 5-0 to break a Champions League record. Before the game, presenter Woods was working on her introduction while they were still off air. ‌ But she was left peeved off when Manchester United legend Ferdinand ambled across the camera. Woods, 37, shared the footage from pre-match on social media. ‌ As Ferdinand walked right in front of the camera, she couldn't help but say: "F***ing hell Rio," before putting her microphone down and laughing to herself. Woods joked: "That was going to be some of my best work ever," as Ferdinand walked back in front. The 81-time England international then took the microphone away from Woods, who was explaining that she was doing a practice take. The pair were next heard sharing a laugh. Ferdinand continued by holding the mic to Woods' mouth before pulling it away. Realising that he was actually in shot, Ferdinand apologised to Woods. ‌ At the end of TNT's coverage, Woods set Ferdinand up to say farewell. "Rio, before we leave, just one final goodbye," she began. "From us here at TNT Sport, to you. That is it for your career here, for now. "Can I just say on behalf of all of us - including everyone behind the camera - you've been an absolute pleasure. And personally since I joined, you've been so incredibly welcoming. You'll be sorely, sorely missed." Where does Rio Ferdinand rank among your favourite pundits? Have your say in the comments section. ‌ Ferdinand responded by saying: "I just want to say thank you to everybody that I've worked with,. My job was made a lot easier by the great people and friends that I have worked with and will remain friends for many years. "As important as the people you see on the screen are the people behind the screen that do all the jobs to get us here and enable us to put our best foot forward are all appreciated. Again, thank you to everybody who has been a part of it." Ferdinand's colleague, Steven Gerrard, asked him if he going to have a cold beer, to which the 46-year-old replied: "All the beers are on me!"

Eva, 30, has been labelled Albania's version of TNT Sports' Laura Woods. But she's also a model and an actress, having appeared in movies, TV drama and classic plays on the stage. Her outfits are as varied as her CV, keeping her Instagram following of 1.3million fans guessing. Never more so than this month. The Tring TV and Vizion Plus host went braless in a pink strappy top for coverage of the Giro d'Italia cycle race. She then opted for a glittering, low-cut gown to front an awards ceremony in her home country. And on Saturday night, just as PSG got everything right out in the middle, Eva's fans reckon she was flawless in the studio. 19 Even Eva's feet got special attention from some fans Credit: Instagram @evamurati The law graduate shared a clip of herself perched on a stool, writing notes and walking around as she prepared for the final. Inter are on a quest to clinch their fourth Champions League title after triumphing over Barcelona in an electrifying semi-final duel, while PSG are resolute to finally claim the trophy that has consistently slipped through their fingers, aiming for their maiden win. They've knocked out a series of English teams - Liverpool, Aston Villa and Arsenal - to secure their spot in the final. A global audience of millions will be tuning in to witness this highly anticipated showdown, with TNT Sports providing the broadcast in the UK. READ MORE - Billie Piper's life from school with Amy Winehouse, teen fame and romance with 'stars' READ MORE - The ominous reason behind P Diddy's original stage name 'Puff Daddy' Laura Woods will be leading the coverage, accompanied by a star-studded panel of pundits including Steven Gerrard, Rio Ferdinand, Karen Carney and Owen Hargreaves. Gerrard, naturally, is no stranger to Champions League glory, having hoisted the trophy as captain of Liverpool following their extraordinary comeback victory against AC Milan in the 2005 final in Istanbul, reports Wales Online. An Anfield icon, the former midfielder retired in 2016, drawing the curtain on a career that saw him scoop numerous individual accolades as well as two FA Cups, three League Cups, a UEFA Cup and a UEFA Super Cup. Since hanging up his boots, Gerrard has transitioned into management, taking the reins at Rangers, Aston Villa and Saudi Arabian outfit Al-Ettifaq. However, he parted ways with the Saudi Pro League team in January. As he gears up to share his insights on Saturday night's match, here's a glimpse into the life of Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard beyond the pitch. Impressive fortune. Following a profitable playing career, Gerrard boasts an impressive estimated net worth of around £75 million, as reported by 888Sports. It's believed that he raked in approximately £22.5 million throughout his career, which spanned 17 years at Liverpool before he hung up his boots at MLS team LA Galaxy. The 45 year old has also pocketed a tidy sum in management, having reportedly earned a whopping £15.2 million-a-year salary while managing Al-Ettifaq. This staggering figure placed Gerrard as the fourth-highest paid manager globally at the time, with only Jurgen Klopp, Pep Guardiola and Diego Simeone out-earning him. His substantial wealth has been further bolstered by numerous sponsorship deals throughout his career, endorsing brands such as Adidas, Jaguar and Lucozade. Glamorous spouse. Next month, Gerrard will mark 18 years of wedded bliss with his wife Alex Curran, after they exchanged vows in a lavish ceremony in Buckinghamshire in June 2007. Interestingly, the pair - who began dating in 2002 - tied the knot on the same day as the weddings of his England colleagues Gary Neville and Michael Carrick. Initially a nail technician, Curran later transitioned into modelling and worked as a fashion columnist for the Daily Mirror and OK! Magazine. Together, the couple are parents to four children - Lilly-Ella, Lexie, Lourdes and Lio. During Gerrard's tenure at Al-Ettifaq, his wife, Alex Curran, and their children opted to reside in Bahrain instead of Saudi Arabia, enjoying a luxurious lifestyle in a high-end villa. In a previous interview on the High Performance Podcast while managing Rangers, Gerrard admitted that his wife would be happy for him to leave football management "tomorrow" due to the strain on their family life. He said: "There are times when it dominates your life and you can't control that. That's what it is." However, he acknowledged, "But there will be a stage in my life where I have to give it up, for the sake of my family and for myself. To cut it, and live life with a bit of peace. There's got to be a stage of your life where you have calm and peace, but at the moment I don't feel ready for it." He continued, "I do still feel full of energy. I do think I can help players. I do see opportunities to have more highs, and buzzes, and adrenaline rushes." Gerrard mentioned, "For Alex and the kids, at some stage, I'm going to have to give myself to them, 100%. When that will be, who knows? Alex would take it tomorrow. She'd take it tomorrow." He also shared, "Alex is the one who brings me down, when I've come in, and think I'm fantastic. If I've scored a goal, or we've won a game, she pipes me down." Gerrard added, "And when you're on the floor, and you're staring at the wall, she's the one who helps pick you up." Earlier this year, Gerrard's eldest daughter Lilly-Ella announced that she is expecting her first child with her boyfriend, Lee Byrne. The 20 year old broke the news on social media with a picture of her positive pregnancy test, captioning it: "Our little secret. "The best news," she added. "Mini us is on the way." Her beau Lee is the offspring of famed Dublin criminal Liam Byrne, who just last year was jailed for five years due to firearms offences. Lee's late grandfather, career felon James 'Jaws' Byrne, passed away at 77. Despite the family history, LBC reports that Gerrard treats Lee no differently than anyone else and expressed delight at becoming a grandad at 45. Following Lilly-Ella's reveal, he commented: "We can't wait, great news and congratulations - we love you."
