Blow for Hollyoaks 30th anniversary as cast tour is axed
The Hollyoaks 30th anniversary tour, which was scheduled to take place later this year, has been axed.
Cast members from across various eras of the Channel 4 soap were set to take part in a number of live shows in October to celebrate three decades of the beloved Chester-based soap.
Ste Hay star Kieron Richardson, Darren Osborne legend Ashley Taylor Dawson and Tony Hutchinson icon Nick Pickard were among those set to appear on stage during the live events, which promised behind-the-scenes secrets for fans.
However, it appears that the tour won't be happening now, with the live shows having been cancelled.
Maple Tree Entertainment, which was overseeing the tour, told The Sun: 'Due to unforeseen circumstances, the planned theatre events for Hollyoaks: The 30th Anniversary Tour will no longer be taking place.

It is thought that Hollyoaks will be marking its 30th anniversary in other ways in October, both in-screen and off.

The big 3-0, for instance, will see the long-awaited return of Hollyoaks Later, with Warren Fox and Theresa McQueen stars Jamie Lomas and Jorgie Porter both set to stage a comeback for the late-night offering.

What's more, a fan will have the opportunity to appear on-screen as part of a storyline that will see one viewer 'killed off' by serial killer Jez.
Hollyoaks streams Mondays to Wednesdays from 6am on Channel 4's streaming platform, or catch episodes on TV at 7pm on E4.

A gallery show of rare Keith Haring drawings is popping up in this NYC suburb
Move over, Manhattan. This month, one of New York City's most iconic street artists is taking over a dining room with views of it. From today, August 6 through Friday, August 29, Kanopi —the modern Portuguese-inspired fine-dining spot perched 42 floors above White Plains, will trade its sweeping Hudson-to-Manhattan panoramas (well, most of them) for something a little more underground: Rare 1980s Keith Haring subway drawings. The pop-up exhibition, HARINGS!, is a collaboration between Kanopi and Greenwich-based Trimper Gallery, transforming the restaurant into a gallery lounge and immersive listening room. Lining the walls will be Haring's bold, black-and-white chalk drawings, originally scrawled on blank advertising spaces in New York's subway stations, where millions could encounter them on their daily commute. Chef Anthony Gonçalves, a James Beard Award semifinalist who grew up steeped in New York City nightlife, is pairing the visual art with a soundtrack worthy of a downtown club in its prime. The curated playlist runs while guests take in Haring's kinetic, high-energy figures—proof that even in a white-tablecloth setting, his work retains every ounce of its street-level buzz. Of course, it wouldn't be Kanopi without food worth lingering over. The HARINGS! menu riffs on cosmopolitan indulgence: a towering seafood platter with oyster, lobster, tiger shrimp and hand-picked crab; a luxe Mishima Reserve wagyu katsu sando; sourdough flatbreads topped with anchovy, oregano-roasted yeast butter and lardo; and tempura in two directions—seasonal Hudson Valley vegetables or tiger shrimp in almond beer batter. Save room for desserts like playful Japanese milk ice cream sundaes with bourbon caramel and cookie crumble or fruit ice-pops in rotating flavors. HARINGS! marks the third creative pairing between Kanopi and Trimper Gallery, following showcases of work by photographer Tyler Shields and painter Lincoln Townley. This time, Gonçalves says, the collaboration felt like a natural evolution, melding the restaurant's refined intimacy with the raw pulse of 1980s New York. For art lovers, it's a chance to see original Haring works without trekking into the city (or fighting for elbow room in a packed museum). For diners, it's proof that fine dining can be just as adventurous as a late-night gallery crawl. ‘We lost £250,000 minutes into new ITV show – but we can't complain'
Warning: spoilers ahead for the first episode of The Fortune Hotel series 2. It's never ideal being the first contestants to be eliminated on a primetime gameshow. However, that's the reality that friends and cleaning business partners Chelsey and Briony faced when they embarked on the adventure of competing in ITV's The Fortune Hotel series 2. The second season of the show, which is hosted by Stephen Mangan, launched tonight, with 11 pairs making their way to a hotel in the Caribbean with the aim of checking in and getting their hands on a briefcase containing a £250,000 fortune. Sadly, Chelsey and Briony were eliminated before they even had the chance to enter the hotel, as other players were quicker to figure out a cryptic crossword that informed them where they needed to go. Thankfully, they're still in good spirits about the experience. 'It weren't all bad. We can't really complain. We had an all-inclusive holiday in an absolutely stunning place that not many people would see with your best friend. We got to do things on the island,' Chelsey, who was 34 at the time of filming, tells Metro. 'It was surreal, once in a lifetime.' Then we went visiting waterfalls, and the sea… The experience looking back on it was fantastic.' At the start of episode one, the competing pairs have to fill out a crossword that, when solved, tells them that they need to head to the reception desk of the hotel. The first batch of couples who reach the correct answer and get to the hotel are safe to scheme another day – but the others are all at risk of being eliminated right away. They each choose a briefcase to open, one of which contains the devastating 'early checkout card'. Briony and Chelsey decided to select briefcase number two, as it's both their favourite number. Unfortunately, they had selected the poisoned chalice. 'Unfortunately, our lucky number just wasn't lucky,' Briony quips. Even though the friends were in the show for a very short amount of time, they still left a big impression with their energetic personalities, racing towards Stephen on the beach after they arrived by boat. Host Stephen Mangan gives Metro the lowdown on what to expect in The Fortune Hotel series two… which he promises will have even more shocks than before. 'It was exciting the first time around because it was a show that had never been done before,' Stephen tells us about the first series. 'Sometimes these shows are formats that they've tried in other countries and have been a hit, so they know how they work. But we were inventing a brand new game, which is exciting and terrifying at the same time.' So what's in store for the second outing? 'More surprises, more challenges, more epic things happening,' he promises. The host adds that if he were a player on the game, he'd be more 'ruthless' than fans might expect.
