Alleged street racer arrested after evading Metro police twice in one night
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — A driver reportedly dodged Nashville law enforcement twice Saturday night, but they still took him into custody amid a Street Racer Initiative.
According to the Metro Nashville Police Department (MNPD), a Dodge Charger was seen driving at a high rate of speed on Nolensville Pike at Harding Place when officers tried to perform a traffic stop on Saturday, March 1.

Authorities said the Charger fled the scene, but MNPD Aviation followed it to Edmondson Pike near Old Hickory Boulevard, where officers attempted a second traffic stop. However, the Charger allegedly failed to yield again, traveling at 100 mph and passing vehicles in center turn lanes to evade police.
Law enforcement apprehended the driver — identified by MNPD as 27-year-old Frank Eduardo Reyes-Borrayo — after the Charger backed into a parking space in the 2500 block of Murfreesboro Pike.
According to officials, a semi-automatic pistol was recovered from the driver's side door, but Reyes-Borrayo 'is not a U.S. citizen and cannot lawfully possess a firearm.'
Teen charged with street racing after police chase in Nashville
The Davidson County Sheriff's Office said Reyes-Borrayo — whose age is listed as 25 rather than 27 in his jail records — is being held in the Downtown Detention Center on a $27,000 bond for felony reckless endangerment with a deadly weapon (vehicle), two counts of felony evading arrest (with a vehicle/risk of injury), misdemeanor unlawful possession of a firearm, and misdemeanor not having a driver's license. However, he is not eligible for release due to a detainer from Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
No additional details have been released about Saturday night's arrest.

‘Bring Kilmar home': Protesters gathered outside Nashville federal court for Kilmar Abrego Garcia
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — Tensions ran high outside a Nashville federal courthouse as dozens of protesters rallied to support Kilmar Abrego Garcia. While the hearing was taking place inside, protesters gathered outside the Fred D. Thompson Federal Building and Courthouse — holding signs, chanting and delivering emotional speeches to the crowd. They demanded three things: due process for Abrego Garcia, for the abolition of Immigrations and Customs Enforcement and an end to what they called the weaponization of the U.S. Government. Wife of Kilmar Abrego Garcia spoke before hearing 'The way this whole thing has been handled has been illegal and racist,' Rebecca Bornac, a resident in Nashville, said. 'I wanted Kilmar to know we support him, and we support his right to a fair trial.' Abrego Garcia was deported to an El Salvador prison in March. He's been accused of conspiring to bring undocumented immigrants to the U.S. from 2016 to 2025. 'As a citizen of the United States, I am deeply sorry and ashamed for the treatment that my country has visited upon Mr. Abrego Garcia, which violates our core principles as a people and his rights on U.S. soil,' Ian Montgomery, Organizer with United Volunteers and Organizers for Tennessee expressed. Speeches continued for almost three hours, and some participants went into the courtroom to listen in to the arraignment firsthand. 'He was in an orange jumpsuit, and everything was peaceful and fine,' Margaret Pitts, a resident in Nashville, explained. 'To be a part of it and witness it felt really important.' Kilmar Abrego Garcia pleads not guilty in Nashville courtroom on federal charges The participants told News 2 that they would never stop fighting for Abrego's freedom. 'We are people, Nashvillians, Tennesseans, standing up for what is right, standing up for our constitution for our neighbors and due process,' a protester expressed. The Department of Homeland Security has revealed the identities of the four migrants who escaped a Newark ICE facility on Thursday night, identifying all four as "public safety threats" who are still at large. The agency is offering a $10,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of the four migrants who broke out of Delaney Hall, a privately run ICE detention facility on Thursday night, amid chaotic scenes both inside and outside the facility. According to DHS, "the four criminal illegal aliens currently evading federal law enforcement are public safety threats." DHS identified the four escaped migrants as Honduran illegals Franklin Norberto Bautista-Reyes and Joel Enrique Sandoval-Lopez and Colombian illegals Joan Sebastian Castaneda-Lozada and Andres Pineda-Mogollon, each of whom has previously been arrested for felony offenses including aggravated assault, unlawful possession of a handgun and terroristic threats. In a Friday statement, a senior DHS official said that "DHS has become aware of four detainees at the privately held Delaney Hall Detention Facility escaping" and that "additional law enforcement partners have been brought in to find these escapees and a BOLO has been disseminated."
