Thornhill cover Lady Gaga's 'Paparazzi' for Like A Version
The Naarm/Melbourne band's big return to the Like A Version studio sees them taking the 2008 pop anthem deep into the pit, delivering a truly roaring take.
"It was interesting to figure out where we wanted it to have a heavy moment," vocalist Jacob Charlton said.
"But I think that came pretty naturally with some of the bridge work."
Instead of making directly flipping the pop song into an "entirely heavy" cover, Thornhill let those immense breakdown riffs come organically.
The end result is something we're ready to throw hands to in the pit.

Lady Gaga leads the nominations for the 2025 MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs), scoring an impressive 12 nods. It marks the third time the pop idol has topped the nominations list - a feat no other artist has matched in VMA history. Gaga's strong showing is followed closely by Bruno Mars, who earned 11 nominations, and Kendrick Lamar with 10. There are two new categories this year for Best Country and Best Pop Artist. Artist of the Year will be a battle between Bad Bunny, Beyoncé, Lamar, Gaga, Morgan Wallen, Taylor Swift and The Weeknd. Up for Best New Artist are Alex Warren, Ella Langley, Gigi Perez, Lola Young, Sombr and The Marías. The winners will be announced during a star-studded bash on Sunday, September 7, at the UBS Arena in New York City. Lady Gaga pens new song, Dead Dance, for Wednesday season two
Lady Gaga has penned the new song, Dead Dance, for season two of Wednesday and will drop a theatrical music video to boot. The Abracadabra hitmaker is confirmed to guest star as Rosaline Rotwood, an iconic Nevermore Academy teacher whose mysterious past entwines with Jenna Ortega's Wednesday Addams. In true Gaga fashion, she's not showing up empty-handed. The singer-songwriter has recorded a brand-new track, slated to drop alongside her appearance, according to Variety. Co-written with her Mayhem collaborators Andrew Watt and Cirkut, the single is expected to arrive next month with a suitably twisted video release. Fuelling speculation around Gaga's role, she and Wednesday director Tim Burton were recently spotted filming on Mexico's infamous Island of the Dolls — a creepy locale littered with disfigured dolls and ghostly lore. Burton praised Gaga: 'She's such an artist… working with her is endlessly inspiring.' Gaga was notably absent from the London premiere last week due to her ongoing MAYHEM BALL tour. The Netflix series returns in two parts, premiering August 6 and September 3. Gaga told Entertainment Weekly magazine of her role earlier this year: 'I don't want to give away anything about being part of the show. "I want to keep it extra secret - but I love Jenna and I really had an amazing time!' Her cameo in season two comes after the viral dance from the show set to Gaga's 2011 hit Bloody Mary.

Noah Cyrus has been spotted stepping out in a truly outrageous outfit. The younger sister of pop superstar Miley Cyrus attended Lady Gaga's Mayhem Ball concert in Inglewood, California at the weekend, where she was photographed wearing a tiny sheer bra, boyleg briefs and a black jacket. The 25-year-old, who is also a singer, appeared to be smoking a joint as she made her way into the Kia Forum with a male companion. Photos of her outfit have caused quite a stir online, with a post on X generating more than nine million views and thousands of comments as of publication. 'I love how confident she is. It's unbelievable,' one user wrote. 'lord give me the confidence to roam the streets like this. even in 43 degree weather I could never,' another said. 'That's not an outfit, that's a declaration of freedom,' a third wrote. 'I have many questions,' quipped another. While Noah was once close with her sister Miley, it's understood the pair became estranged amid the drama engulfing the wider Cyrus family over the past few years. It all kicked off when Billy Ray Cyrus and his wife of almost three decades, Tish Cyrus, sought a divorce for a third time in April 2022. Four months later, Billy Ray became engaged to Australian singer Firerose (whom he married in 2023 until their split seven months later.) Reports soon swirled Miley and Billy Ray, who shot to global superstardom together on Hannah Montana in 2006, had fallen out. Flash forward a year and rumours of a family feud intensified, when in August 2023, Tish married Australian actor Dominic Purcell, of Prison Break fame, in Malibu. While Miley was maid of honour, Noah was noticeably absent, sharing photos of herself shopping at Walmart while wearing a 'Billy Ray' T-shirt. A few months later, salacious reports emerged Noah had previously dated Purcell before he married Tish. A source who spoke to Us Weekly claimed 'Noah was [seeing] Dominic when Tish started pursuing him,' adding Tish was 'fully aware'. Neither Tish or Noah commented on the claims. However, relations appeared to have started to heal between the estranged family members in recent months. Miley gave rare insight when she shared an unusual statement on Instagram in May this year, after news outlets noticed Tish had unfollowed the Grammy winner on social media. 'I rarely comment on rumours but my mama and I are too tight for anything to ever come between us,' the singer wrote. 'She's my best friend. Like a lot of mums, she doesn't know how to work her phone and somehow unfollowed me — simple, coincidental and uninteresting. 'My dad and I have had our challenges over the years.
