Planes clip wings on Manchester Airport runway
EasyJet confirmed that two of its aircraft, one travelling to Paris and the other to Gibraltar, "came into contact" while still on the ground at Manchester on Friday morning.
"EasyJet can confirm that the wing tips of two aircraft came into contact whilst taxiing to the runway at Manchester Airport this morning," the airline said in a statement.
"The aircraft returned to stand to disembark customers who have been provided with refreshment vouchers whilst replacement aircraft are arranged to operate the flights."
An investigation has been launched, with the airline adding: "The safety of our passengers and crew is our highest priority."
Other flights at Manchester were disrupted. Airport officials briefly closed the runway while the aircraft were examined.

In a video obtained by PEOPLE, an airport official wearing an orange vest makes his way to the grass to retrieve a piece of one of the planes that was seemingly sliced off. Tynisha Chaudhry, a 21-year-old on the plane to Gibraltar, told the BBC the experience was like a car crash.'We felt the whole plane shudder — it was a massive hit,' she told the outlet. 'The aircraft returned to stand to disembark customers and customers were provided with refreshment vouchers,' the airline's statement noted.
