'Housefull 5' Box Office collection day 18: Akshay Kumar's film slows down, earns Rs 1.15 crore on third Monday

Akshay Kumar's 'Housefull 5' is now facing a steady dip in box office numbers. After enjoying a strong 17-day run, the comedy film is slowly losing its shine, especially after the release of Aamir Khan's new film 'Sitaare Zameen Par'.

A good start but now slipping
'Housefull 5' opened well and collected a solid Rs 176.10 crore (India net) in its first 17 days. It gave fans of the franchise a familiar dose of comedy and chaos, with a star-studded cast and entertaining moments. However, the box office buzz is now fading.
On Day 18, which was the third Monday, the film only earned Rs 1.15 crore, according to early estimates by Sacnilk.
Weekend was better, weekdays are tough
The film did manage to bring in more audiences over the weekend.
On Saturday day 16, it collected Rs 2.5 crore, and on Sunday day 17, the collections rose to Rs 3.5 crore. But Monday's drop suggests that fewer people are heading to the theatres during the week. With this, the total India net collection now stands at Rs 177.25 crore, according to Sacnilk.
Competition from Aamir Khan's film
The drop in collection for 'Housefull 5' also seems linked to the release of Aamir Khan's 'Sitaare Zameen Par', which hit cinemas on June 20.
Since its release, the film has been attracting steady crowds and pulling viewers away from 'Housefull 5'.
Low occupancy
According to Sacnilk, 'Housefull 5' had an overall Hindi occupancy of 13.32% on Monday, June 23, 2025, across all screenings in India. The morning shows saw a low turnout with just 6.85% occupancy. Audience numbers picked up slightly in the later parts of the day, with 15.23% in the afternoon, 15.34% in the evening, and 15.87% during night shows.

Packed with stars and laughs
One of the major highlights of 'Housefull 5' is its massive star cast. The film features a long list of popular actors, including Akshay Kumar,
, Abhishek Bachchan, and Sanjay Dutt. Alongside them are Jacqueline Fernandez, Sonam Bajwa, Nargis Fakhri, and
. That's not all. The film also stars veterans like Jackie Shroff, Nana Patekar, Chunky Panday, Johnny Lever, and Shreyas Talpade. Adding more names to the list are
, Ranjeet, Nikitin Dheer, Chitrangda Singh, and Fardeen Khan.
As if the competition from 'Sitaare Zameen Par' wasn't enough, 'Housefull 5' now has more challenges coming its way. Upcoming big releases like 'Maa' and 'F1: The Movie' are expected to take over many screens and further cut into its earnings.

Heads Of State: Priyanka Chopra Tried To Break The Ice With John Cena, Got Pranked Instead

Last Updated: Priyanka Chopra Jonas fell for a prank by co-stars John Cena and Idris Elba on the first day of shooting Heads of State. Actress Priyanka Chopra Jonas, who is gearing up for the release of her upcoming title 'Heads of State', walked right into a trap set by her co-stars John Cena and Idris Elba on the first day of the shoot. While the actress felt she was breaking the ice, she fell prey to a well-timed prank by her co-stars. Talking about the same, the actress said in a statement, 'The first scene we were doing together, I literally went in just because I was like, I'll break the ice. I'll just go in and be like, I don't see you". She further mentioned, 'I think they were in on it or whatever when I went, and John and Idris were standing with each other. I was like, now I've offended him, he hates that. That's what Idris said. He's like, don't say that. He hates when people do that and then they were obviously taking the piss. So that cracked the ice". The film is set against the backdrop of political chaos and globe-trotting danger, and marks the actress' return to action. In 'Heads of State', Priyanka Chopra Jonas steps into the shoes of Noel Bisset, an elite MI6 agent tasked with protecting two of the world's most high-profile leaders, Will Derringer, the President of the United States, and Sam Clarke, the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, played by John Cena and Idris Elba, respectively. The film is helmed by Ilya Naishuller, and also stars Paddy Considine, Stephen Root, Carla Gugino, Jack Quaid and Sarah Niles. The high-stakes action comedy is packed with political twists and comedic turns. The film is set to drop on July 2 on Prime Video in English, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada.
