Over 13K Chenchu families to get Indiramma houses: Ponguleti
In a statement released on Sunday, the Housing Minister Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy said that 13,266 Indiramma houses were being sanctioned to 13,266 Chenchu families under the saturation method in 21 constituencies under the four Integrated Tribal Development Agencies (ITDAs) of Utnoor, Bhadrachalam, Munnanur and Eturu Nagaram.
The Governor, on many occasions had asked the State government to construct permanent houses in tribal areas, and Chief Minister Revanth Reddy had also made many suggestions on the development of tribal areas, especially the construction of their residential houses. Based on the suggestion of the Governor and the Chief Minister, Indiramma houses are being sanctioned to the Chenchus in tribal areas, said Srinivasa Reddy.
The Minister said that as part of the first phase, on Monday, he would personally hand over the sanction papers of Indiramma houses to the Chenchus along with local MLA Dr Vamsi Krishna in Munnanur, Achampet constituency. The Chenchus are a tribe that lives in the forests. They make a living by hunting in the forests and collecting and selling forest produce. It is unimaginable that they have a permanent home other than small huts, and they do not live in those forest areas.
That is why the government has decided to allocate Indiramma houses in the places where they live. No government has even thought about this in decades, the minister said.
In Utnoor ITDA limits (10,836 houses), Mancherial 157, Nirmal 153, Asifabad 3371, Boath 163, Khanapur 2257, Sirpur 227, Adilabad 2848, Bellampalli 223, Bhadrachalam ITDA limits Aswaraopet 274, Munnanur Chenchu Special Project (2156) Achampet 785, Mahabubnagar 245, Parigi 63, Tandoor 174, Kollapur 105, Kalwakurthy 120, Vikarabad 63, Devarakadra 64, Nagarjunasagar 17, a total of 13,266 houses.
It was announced that the government was sanctioning 3,500 Indiramma houses to each constituency in the state this year, but now it has been decided that an additional 8,750 houses have been sanctioned to the tribal constituencies within the ITDA area. The ITDA Project Officer has been appointed as the nodal officer to supervise the process of sanctioning Indiramma houses in tribal areas.

Hyderabad: Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy expressed serious concern over journalism losing its credibility. In the same tone, he cautioned that the country's security will be in danger if the media credibility is not restored in the future. Expressing concern that some media houses were 'crossing their limits', he said, "In the past, political parties ran newspapers to explain their ideology to the people. These days, dailies run by political parties are behaving in a strange manner as they are keen to protect their financial interests and follies'. Appealing to people to closely monitor the hidden agenda of newspapers owned by political parties, the Chief Minister said that another big worrying factor was the gross exploitation of social media by people who are unaware of the basics of journalism. These unscrupulous elements are conspiring to destabilize the system also, he charged. Like political parties, even journalists are losing their integrity, he said, while calling for a 'Lakshman Rekha' in the practice of journalism with trustworthiness. Revanth Reddy said that the Communist parties were always supporting Congress to come to power earlier and even in the 2023 State Assembly elections. The friendly relations between Congress and Left parties will continue, he said, as the two would strive for development of the state and people's welfare.

Officials told to form spl teams to clear pending pleas under Indiramma housing
Rangareddy: With a view to ensure transparency in allotment of Indiramma houses to eligible families, the Rangareddy district administration is planning to form mandal-level special teams of officials and carry out case-based studies before sanctioning the houses in the district. The district collector C Narayan Reddy on Thursday ordered the officials concerned to form special teams at mandal level to resolve the issue of pending applications filed to seek approval of houses under Indiramma scheme. The Collector, while addressing a video conference, asked the officials to approve all the places where the applicants owned a piece of land to build house. The construction of houses should be completed with a brisk pace to help beneficiaries accommodate the same. 'Awareness should also be created about other welfare schemes like PM Awas Yojana,' said the Collector, adding that 'the applicants who availed loans in the past are eligible this time too under the scheme.' The Collector wanted the Agricultural officers to ensure adequate stock of urea at all the godowns in respective mandal headquarters during the rainy season to avoid any inconveniency for the farmers who are in the process of cultivation. Besides, he said, sanitation arrangements should be ratcheted-up in all the government run schools and welfare hostels and welfare facilities. Quality of food and drinking water being provided to the students should be ensured. He suggested that vegetables should be brought to these institutions once in two days instead of storing them for a long time at storage rooms.

3-member panel to vet Ghose Commission report for Cabinet
Hyderabad: The state government has initiated the official process to act on the findings of the one-man Justice Ghose Commission of inquiry, which has gone into alleged irregularities and lapses in the construction of the Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Project (KLIP) and submitted its report. After a 15-month probe into the subsidence of some of the piers of the Medigadda barrage and damages caused to the Annaram and Sundilla barrages (part of KLIP), the Justice PC Ghose Commission submitted its report to the Telangana govt on Thursday. Justice (retd) Ghose handed over the bulky three-volume report to principal secretary, irrigation, Rahul Bojja at the Secretariat on the last date of the Commission's extended term. Earlier on Friday, Chief Secretary K Ramakrishna Rao, Irrigation Secretary Prashant Patil and Joint Secretary Srinivas submitted the Justice Ghose Commission report to Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy. The officials submitted the report to the Chief Minister in the presence of Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka, Irrigation Minister N Uttam Kumar Reddy, and Revenue and Information and Public Relations Minister P Srinivas Reddy. Losing no time, Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy constituted a 3-member Official Committee to vet the report of the Ghose Commission. The Committee, comprising state Irrigation Secretary Prashant Patil, Secretary to Law and GAD departments, will examine the report and submit its synopsis to the state Cabinet on August 4. The KLIP, on which the erstwhile Bharat Rashtra Samithi government reportedly spent over Rs 1 lakh crore, created a big political storm ahead of the 2023 Assembly polls due to sinking of the piers of its barrages and damage caused to them. Then opposition parties had accused the BRS government of indulging in irregularities and large-scale corruption, going by its 'design flaws', 'structural faults', 'maintenance issues', 'lack of quality control' and widespread 'financial mismanagement'.
