Works worth 296 crore taken up under PM Janman in Manyam dist
Visakhapatnam: Under the Integrated Tribal Development Agencies (ITDAs) in Seethampeta and Parvatipuram, infrastructure projects and development work worth Rs 296 crore have been sanctioned or completed, benefiting thousands of tribal families under the Pradhan Mantri Janjati Adivasi Nyaya Maha Abhiyan (PM-Janman) programme. These include housing, roads, schools, and other essential facilities. In Seethampeta ITDA jurisdiction, 447 particularly vulnerable tribal group (PVTG) habitations were identified across four mandals, covering a tribal population of 49,611 and 12,188 PVTG households. About 2,530 houses have been sanctioned with an outlay of Rs 58 crore, of which 1,367 houses have so far been grounded. Three road works have been sanctioned with an outlay of Rs 3.83 crore, covering 3.88 km in the villages, whereas 417 drinking water schemes have been sanctioned with an outlay of Rs 24.06 crore, of which 99 works have been completed and the remainder are in progress. Three Anganwadi centres have been sanctioned, completed, and operationalised, while 16 multipurpose centres have been sanctioned with an outlay of Rs 9.6 crore and all works are in progress. Two hostels have also been sanctioned with an outlay of Rs 4.6 crore, and both are under construction. All 447 tribal habitations have been electrified. As many as 27 BSNL cell towers have been sanctioned and operationalised. Under the programme, 145 grama sabhas have been conducted, and during this campaign, 4,974 Aadhaar cards, 2,072 Ayushman Bharat cards, 449 PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana cards, 96 PM Jan Dhan Yojana cards, 14 PM Matru Vandana Yojana cards, 116 forest rights pattas, and 1,944 caste certificates have been issued. Under the jurisdiction of Parvatipuram ITDA, out of 4,750 eligible households for house sanction, 3,323 houses have been sanctioned with an outlay of Rs 79 crore, of which 1,827 houses have been grounded. Sixteen road works, covering a length of 34.77 km and benefiting 21 PVTG habitations, have been sanctioned with an outlay of Rs 35.7 crore. About 12,529 functional household tap connections (FHTCs) have been sanctioned with an outlay of Rs 47.2 crore for 376 works, out of which 55 works, with an expenditure of Rs 2.46 crore, have been completed. Other works taken up include Anganwadi centres, multipurpose centres, cell towers, and more.

10,000 Indiramma Houses for homeless Chenchus: Minister Ponguleti
Revenue and Housing Minister Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy said that the State government, led by Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, aims to fulfil the dream of owning a house for the Chenchus, one of the primitive tribal groups (PTG) that have lived without permanent homes for generations. In a statement here on Tuesday, he said nearly 10,000 Chenchu families have been identified through a saturation method within the limits of four Integrated Tribal Development Agencies (ITDAs) — Mannanur, Eturnagaram, Bhadrachaam and Utnur — in the State, and they will be granted Indiramma houses. A total of 9,395 houses will be sanctioned soon. The Minister stated that the government has decided to allocate Indiramma houses in the localities where the Chenchus live, as they have been living in small huts in forest areas. Additionally, 500 to 700 additional houses will be allocated to tribal constituencies within the ITDA limits, beyond the 3,500 houses being sanctioned to each constituency in the State. Mr. Srinivas Reddy underscored that the selection process for Indiramma house beneficiaries has been completed across the State, with 20% of the houses kept under buffer for each Assembly constituency. He also highlighted the government's focus on building apartments (G+3) in urban areas, particularly within the GHMC limits, to accommodate the poor who prefer to stay in their current locations.

Minister promises to develop infrastructure in tribal villages
Vijayawada: Minister for Tribal Welfare, WGC' Women and Child Welfare Gummidi Sandhyarani stated that efforts are being made to develop education, healthcare, drinking water, and roads in all tribal villages across the State. The minister conducted a review meeting on Friday with officials from nine Integrated Tribal Development Agencies (ITDAs) and other line departments at the Tribal Welfare Department office here. Speaking at a press conference organised on the occasion, the Minister said that steps are being taken to ensure basic infrastructure in all schools by June when schools reopen. With special initiative from Minister Nara Lokesh, Rs 156 crore has been sanctioned, and work has already begun. 'Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu has directed the provision of drinking water to people in over 4,000 tribal villages, and drinking water has already been provided to the majority of these villages,' she said. The minister noted that ICDS (Integrated Child Development Services) programmes are being integrated with activities in tribal areas. Steps have been taken to provide nutritious food to children in tribal regions. Although doctors have been appointed in tribal areas, they often do not reside there. To address this, appointments will be made to ensure doctors stay in these areas, providing better healthcare to tribals. The minister stated that skill development courses will be offered to tribal youth to create employment opportunities. Birth waiting halls have been set up for pregnant women, and post-delivery, mothers and newborns are safely transported home via the Mother-Child Express vehicle. Over 2,000 jobs are available for tribals in the Mega DSC, which will improve the lives of many tribal youth. The state has nine ITDAs, but Vijayawada and Nellore ITDAs cannot officially represent tribal areas due to the absence of tribal populations.
