Ramgarh: Union minister of state for defence, Sanjay Seth, on Tuesday said that India is moving quickly towards becoming self-sufficient in terms of its defence requirements and is exporting war equipment and weapons to 90 countries worldwide.
The Indian Navy has achieved 75% self-sufficiency over the years, he said.
Speaking at the 300th birth anniversary of Ahilyabai Holkar at Radha Govind University (RGU) in Ramgarh, the minister said, "India, which was earlier an importer of war equipment and weapons, has now become an exporter. India has become the fourth largest economy in the world with a four trillion dollar economy and a 6.85 lakh crore defence budget."
The grand success of Operation Sindoor is being celebrated across the country with the Tiranga Yatra, he said. "The success of Operation Sindoor against terrorists has made 140 crore people of the country feel proud," Seth stated, adding that these overwhelming and significant changes became realistic due to the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who is fulfilling promises made to the people of this country.

Following in the footsteps of Ahilyabai, who ruled over Indore for 28 years, PM Modi has taken various steps for women's empowerment as the govt has opened doors for women in military services. "Now, women can enrol in Sainik schools, through which they can join military services," Seth said.
"Considering the plight of women, 18 crore toilets were built in the country, and 20 crore women received cooking gas under the Ujjwala Yojana. Tap water supply has been provided to 28 crore houses," the minister said adding that with 33% reservation for women, by 2029 there will be 33% women in parliament and assemblies in states.

India should open way for developing nations: WTO
PARIS: While acknowledging unprecedented disruption of multilateral trading system, WTO chief Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala on Tuesday raised the issue of China-backed investment facilitation. While India is opposing this, Okonjo-Iweala wants New Delhi to support the move. "We spoke about issues of reform, about issues that India is interested in, like agriculture and how India needs to be a leader for MC 14 (next year's ministerial meeting)... India needs to open the way for other developing countries, for example, on investment facilitation for development, we want it to support, because so many developing countries, 90 out of the 126, who are members, would like to move with this. But for agriculture, we also need to listen to what India's issues are and try to be as supportive as possible," she said after a meeting with commerce & industry minister Piyush Goyal. India had virtually single-handedly blocked attempts to include investment facilitation as a plurilateral matter under the WTO framework. The comments came ahead of the mini-ministerial meeting of trade ministers later Tuesday. WTO chief said the issue of reform is expected to come up for discussion, at a time when multilateral trading system has been "disrupted in a way it hasn't been before". by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Buy Durable Perforated Stainless Steel Sheets Online – Trusted Suppliers Stainless Steel Sheets | Search ADS Search Now Undo "Sometimes I see challenges as opportunities, and I think this is a very good opportunity for WTO members to look at what are those things that work and should be kept and there are many. For example, three quarters of world goods trade is still taking place on WTO terms, on MFN terms and members want to safeguard that," she said. She said that each member will put their ideas on the table, paving the way for discussions at the next year's ministerial meeting. Hearing date to case status, they are just a click away
Ghaziabad: Cops in the city have unveiled a commissionerate courts monitoring system (CCMS), a digital platform that promises to streamline court proceedings and enhance transparency in legal processes. The system, developed under the supervision of police commissioner J Ravinder Goud, will offer real-time access to court information and updates on the status of cases. "This digital initiative represents a fundamental shift in how we manage court cases. After a month of rigorous development and training, we're here to offer this service to the public, making legal processes more accessible and transparent," Goud told TOI. The CCMS portal, officials said, would enable users to access court-related information remotely through their electronic devices. For law enforcement, the system provides live tracking capabilities across various sections, ensuring efficient case management and precise monitoring of hearing schedules. A notable feature is its ability to monitor surety bonds across different BNS sections, helping prevent fraudulent submissions. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like 4 sätt att pensionera sig bekvämt med 3 miljoner kr Fisher Invest. Rs 1.5k-cr govt land cleared of scrap godowns & sheds in Gurgaon
Gurgaon: A govt land — valued at Rs 1,500 crore — in Sector 21 was cleared on Tuesday. The anti-encroachment drive saw demolition of 20 scrap godowns and 30 tin-set rooms and huts using bulldozers. Originally acquired by Haryana Urban Development Authority (now HSVP) in the late 1970s, this area was meant for developing a sector. The team cleared about 15 acres of Haryana Shehri Vikas Pradhikaran (HSVP)-owned land till evening. An HSVP official said the enforcement will continue on Wednesday, with a total of around 22 acres set to be cleared in the coming days. The official said, "Any future attempts to encroach will lead to FIRs and strict legal action." The drive saw heavy police deployment from Sector 22 police station. The enforcement was carried out in the presence of district nodal officer RS Batth along with a team of HSVP officials. Duty magistrate and SDE Surendra Babbar was also present. Soon after the operation began around noon, it faced resistance from locals and land claimants. Heated arguments broke out at the site, but Batth intervened, urging them to vacate peacefully. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Fortaleça sua mente com Neurolin — Promoção imperdível: 15% OFF + 2 frascos grátis Corpo & Ciência Notícias Undo Over the years, this vacant land had turned into an illegal waste dumping and processing spot. Residents said some of the landowners rented out their plots to small-scale waste management firms for around Rs 30,000-Rs 40,000 per month. Last year, a major fire broke out, which took the fire department six hours to douse the flames. Batth said no structures can be built on land under litigation and asked the encroachers to remove their belongings before Wednesday's enforcement drive. "We won't tolerate any encroachment on govt land. We will follow the law, offer time to vacate, but will not hesitate to take strict action if needed," Batth said. According to an HSVP official, two days prior to the operation, public announcements were made in the area warning occupants to vacate the land. The drive was carried out as per orders from HSVP estate officer-I Rakesh Saini. In 2013, Punjab and Haryana high court ruled that only vacant plots could be acquired by the state govt. Those on which construction was carried out could not be acquired unless the land was needed for setting up essential public utilities such as roads, water and electricity infrastructure, the HC said. Haryana govt subsequently appealed against this decision and the case is pending before Supreme Court.
