Best Buy makes Samsung's premium Galaxy Buds 2 Pro an undeniable bargain for a limited time

Phone Arena03-07-2025
If you feel like you simply cannot wait a few more days to check out Amazon's Prime Day and Best Buy's Black Friday in July sales events before getting your next big wireless earbuds, now might be the perfect time to pull the trigger on the Galaxy Buds 2 Pro . Released all the way back in 2022, these are obviously no longer the best AirPods Pro alternatives sold by Samsung, having been replaced by a redesigned and upgraded Galaxy Buds 3 Pro product just last year. But that newer ultra-high-end model is not exactly easy to come by at a substantial discount over its $250 list price, while this older generation costs a measly $99.99 right now.
$130 off (57%) True Wireless Earbuds with Active Noise Cancellation, Personalized Ambient Sound, Hi-Fi Sound, 360 Audio, HD Voice, Conversation Mode, IPX7 Water Resistance, Up to 8 Hours of Uninterrupted Listening Time, 30 Hours of Total Battery Life with Wireless Charging Case, Graphite Color Buy at BestBuy
That's massively down from an original price of $229.99, and as you can imagine, you need to hurry to take advantage of the colossal (but not completely unprecedented) $130 discount. This is only available today at Best Buy, and naturally, there are no guarantees it will return next week at either this particular retailer or Amazon.
There are no special requirements or strings attached to Best Buy's latest deal of the day, mind you, and unlike other similar past offers at the likes of Amazon or Woot, you're looking at brand-new, unused, unopened, and undamaged units here designed for US use.
That's right, you're not dealing with any refurbished or "international version" shenanigans, which... still doesn't make this promotion unique, but it does make it incredibly hard to beat.
Your $99.99 will buy you not just active noise cancellation, but also super-premium overall audio quality (even by 2025 standards), flawless connectivity with both Android handsets and iPhones, a comfortable and secure fit for the lengthiest music listening sessions, solid IPX7 water resistance, and excellent battery life. Our Galaxy Buds 2 Pro review, in case you're wondering, essentially praised all of those things (and a bunch more) while only criticizing Samsung's 2022-released high-end earbuds for their price point, which is no longer a valid weakness. So what are you waiting for? Secure your connection now at a bargain price!

Waze is losing Google support on certain Android versions

Can you believe that it has been over 12 years since Google shelled out $1.3 billion and bought Waze? Both Google Maps and Waze use different techniques to give you the safest and quickest path to your destination. Google Maps relies on government sensors, location data generated by millions of users, and historical traffic patterns. Waze uses crowdsourced information to help drivers avoid accidents, police activity, weather-related issues, construction slow downs and more. Waze is for drivers focused on the journey and want to arrive at their destination in the fastest time possible. For example, if the community of Waze users reports that a certain route through side streets and back roads is a minute or two faster than your original route, Waze will reroute you. Google Maps is made for those who don't mind getting to their destination via alternative methods such as walking, bicycling, or public transit. Unlike Waze, the focus with Google Maps is to stay on the main roads unless there is a major issue forcing you to reroute. Google Maps is also great for figuring out where you are going to eat, sleep, get entertainment, and see landmarks when you arrive at your destination. Screenshot of Waze on a Pixel 6 Pro. | Image credit-PhoneArena Google's UI is more straightforward than Waze's interface, which looks a little bit cartoonish. Along the same lines, Waze offers different voices, including those belonging to celebrities. You can even hear turn-by-turn directions being announced using the dulcet tones of your own voice! If you love using Waze, we do have some bad news for you. Luckily, it won't impact many of you. Waze will soon stop receiving updates on devices running Android 9 Pie and earlier. Considering that Android 9 Pie was released in 2018, I wouldn't imagine that this would impact many PhoneArena readers. Keep in mind that Waze will still work on devices running Android 9 and earlier. The only change is that those using the app on devices powered by the older versions of Android won't receive any updates. Even though you should buy a new phone, you can still use Waze on your Moto Z Force, and you'll see the usual timely traffic updates, and the crowdsourced reports will still work perfectly. You can install Waze on your Android or iOS phone by tapping on the appropriate link.

Honor's fashion-forward foldable may arrive as soon as this month

Honor appears ready to launch its latest clamshell foldable, the Magic V Flip 2, as early as next week. The phone is set to compete with Samsung's Galaxy Z Flip 7 and has a fashion-focused design created in collaboration with Jimmy Choo. The information comes from leaker Fixed Focus Digital, who claims the Magic V Flip 2 could debut on August 19 or 20. While Honor has yet to confirm the date, this would align with its recent release patterns. The device follows the launch of the larger Honor Magic V5 in China last month, making it Honor's second foldable release of the year. Jimmy Choo, co-founder of the luxury shoe brand, shared sketches of the Magic V Flip 2 on Instagram. The back cover is said to feature a detailed crystal inlay that reflects light as the phone folds and unfolds. Choo described the design as a blend of modern technology and traditional artistry, intended to showcase elegance and confidence. — Jimmy Choo, Fashion Designer. This is not the first time Honor has worked with Choo, but it remains an unusual pairing in the smartphone market. Fashion-themed editions can draw attention, yet they typically appeal to a smaller audience. Samsung has, in the past, collaborated with several brands for bespoke versions of their devices. An example of this was the Thom Browne version of the Galaxy Z Flip and Galaxy Z Fold, which featured the designer's signature gray, white, and red stripe aesthetic. As to what we can expect from the Magic V Flip 2, leaked specifications suggest that will include a 5,500 mAh battery and support 80W wired charging. It is not expected to run on Qualcomm's top Snapdragon 8 Elite chip, with the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 considered more likely. Samsung's clamshell foldables have led the market for several years, offering strong global sales and consistent software support. To compete, Honor will need to match its design work with competitive pricing, reliable performance, and good camera quality. From a consumer perspective, the Jimmy Choo design adds a unique visual element, but its real test will be in daily use. Battery life, durability, and user experience will ultimately matter more than the phone's appearance if Honor hopes to make a lasting impact in the foldable market.
