Hosts Jon Kay and Sarah Campbell handed over to Carol for her segment when the drama unfolded.
Jon said: "Carol has the weather for us this morning. Hi Carol, is this sunshine going to continue for many?"
She replied: "Yes, it is today, Jon. Good morning to you both, and good morning to you too. Yesterday we reached-"
But Jon was forced to cut the meteorologist off when her microphone malfunctioned, leaving viewers unable to hear what she was saying.

Jon interrupted: "Carol, I'm sorry, Carol, we've got a little bit of interference on Carol's microphone there. We'll sort that out and we'll get back to her very soon.
"It sometimes happens, gremlins get involved. Maybe it's the heat? ! Maybe it's the hot weather interfering."
The problem was quickly fixed and Carol returned with her segment later in the programme.
Jon told viewers: "Delighted to say we can rejoin Carol. Carol, we don't mind not hearing you when the weather is bad! But when the weather is good we want to hear every word."

Carol recently shared some behind-the-scenes details of her winter wedding with audiences.
She revealed her engagement to Steve Randall in May 2022 while live from the Chelsea Flower Show.

The happy couple tied the knot during an intimate ceremony at Cliveden House.
Speaking about her special day, the star admitted that not everything went according to plan.

She said: "It was the perfect day, it was a small intimate wedding it was beautiful, very romantic but there was a storm, can you believe it? Storm Gerrit!"
"When we booked it, obviously it was a bit in advance, so we didn't know there was going to be a storm.
"I was watching it in the lead up to the wedding, thinking: 'Nooo!'"
Thankfully the bride and groom were so excited about their nuptials that they "didn't even notice" the wind and rain.

He revealed: "People say to me 'you never stop working', but here's the thing, and I tell every young performer this, 'if you enjoy the job you do, you will never do a day's work in your life'. "It's as simple as that. I try and have as much time as I possibly can off, but I just love what I do." The Gladiators host went on to tell My Weekly magazine: "As you know, the older you get, the more belligerent you get. I'm 65 now. "Do you know what age and experience brings? Freedom. Because you can say, 'Absolutely not. No, I'm not doing that. I don't want to go there'. "And people will just remark, 'He's just old and grumpy', well, that's fine by me." Survivor has reportedly been cancelled by the BBC after just one season on the air. The new version of the reality show hit screens in 2023 in a primetime Saturday night slot with comedian Joel Dommett at the helm – and reportedly cost the broadcaster £30,000,000 to produce. Survivor saw 18 people compete in a series of challenges on a desert island to win £100,000, just as the original noughties show had tasked contestants with. Yet the programme struggled to attract viewers. Survivor was reportedly in jeopardy as soon as after the first episode aired on the BBC, because it only attracted 2.6 million viewers on average, despite airing in the post-Strictly Saturday slot. The ratings were around two million less than the numbers Michael McIntyre's The Wheel pulled in the week prior – which allegedly prompted crisis talks among TV execs at the time. Strictly Come Dancing confirm 12th contestant who may have an edge on competition
Fans are ecstatic about hearing the official line-up for the upcoming series of Strictly. Strictly Come Dancing has confirmed its 12th contestant for the 2025 series, who may have an edge on the competition due to one lucky aspect of his personal life. Neighbours star Stefan Dennis, who is best known for his role as Paul Robinson on the Australian soap, was revealed as the latest star on This Morning on Thursday (August 14)- and his wife is a professional dancer. Stefan expressed his anticipation for the show, saying to presenters Emma Willis and Craig Doyle: "I'm [feeling] pretty good. I'm very excited to be doing something that's completely and utterly out of my comfort zone. But also because of that, quite a bit petrified." The 66-year-old went on to admit that he's not naturally gifted in the dance department, but his wife, Gail, a professional dancer, has been trying to help him get into the groove ahead of the series. "It's so ironic because my gorgeous wife, wherever she is, somewhere out there, Gail, is a professional dancer," he said, reports the Daily Star. "She's been trying to teach me in the most frustrating way for her for sure, because I just keep burying my head in the sand, going, 'This is not happening.'" He added: "She's been giving me some good tips, but that doesn't mean I'm any good." In a statement about joining the BBC dance competition, Stefan said: "This is an opportunity for me to once again learn to step out of my comfort zone in the world of television. Looking forward to the sparkle and reaching for the sky." Stefan first graced our screens on Neighbours in 1985 and has since appeared in over 6,000 episodes during the show's 40-year run. Before his stint on the beloved soap, Stefan had a lengthy career in Australian television, with roles in shows such as Prisoner, The Henderson Kids, The Sullivans, Young Doctors and Sons and Daughters, among others. He has also made appearances in UK shows like The Bill, Dream Team, River City and Casualty, and starred in the West End musical Blood Brothers. This news follows the announcement that Vicky Pattison will be the 11th celebrity to join the line-up, as revealed earlier on This Morning. The TV presenter, author, podcast and radio host won the hearts of the nation when she was crowned Queen of the Jungle on I'm A Celebrity in 2015. On her participation in Strictly, Vicky expressed: "'I'm absolutely buzzing to be part of this year's Strictly Come Dancing line up... but I'd be lying if I said I wasn't terrified. "I am a not a natural dancer! However, it's such an amazing opportunity for me to step out of my comfort zone and to challenge myself in a completely new way and I just really hope I don't make too much of a fool of myself!"
