Amazon Prime fans rush to binge 'best series ever' that went under the radar

Metro2 days ago

Amazon Prime Video viewers have rushed to binge a new coming-of-age drama series after its biggest fans begged for a second season.
Motorheads, a 10-part series, dropped last month and follows the story of a group of young petrolheads and racers who live in the hard-knock Pennsylvania rustbelt.
A mixture of The Fast and the Furious and The Summer I Turned Pretty, Motorheads has landed a respectable 75% rating from critics on Rotten Tomatoes.
The series stars teen drama icon Ryan Phillippe, of Cruel Intentions infamy, playing a former NASCAR mechanic turned struggling auto body shop owner.
'Motorheads is about first love, first heartbreak, and turning the key in your first car,' reads the official show synopsis from Prime Video.
And that's been enough for some fans to already be convinced that, despite flying under the radar, Motorheads might be one of their favourite shows of all time.
On Google Reviews, Shawna said: 'This is one of the best series I've seen come out in a while! Absolutely loved this show! Left all my other shows for this one and binged Motorheads!'
Shannon agreed: 'One of the best new shows I have seen in years! Each actor does a great job. It has a great storyline that is suspenseful, interesting, drama, edge of your seat racing and character driven.'
User @EternalFlame said: 'Please watch it. I have watched hundreds of shows and movies, and none have ever made me feel this many emotions! This is the best show or movie I have ever watched by a mile.'

Mya begged not just for one more season, but several more: 'Ahhhhh, I love this show so so much please renew it for at least four seasons.'
Ryan Phillippe is joined in the Motorheads castlist by Nathalie Kelley, Never Have I Ever star Michael Cimino, and Melissa Collazo to make an ensemble cast of grease monkeys.
All 10 episodes are available to binge on the streaming platform, and many fans have already finished the whole thing. Some have took to X to demand a follow-up season.
One viewer even went so far as to threaten cancelling her Prime subscription entirely if the show isn't renewed for season two.
@AGeorge43838 tagged Amazon's official MGM Studios account and wrote: 'I swear you better have a season 2 of Motorheads. Ryan Phillippe and crew have hit GOLD. The show is awesome.
'Also, if there isn't a season 2 I'm cancelling my prime!' More Trending
Many said the finale cliffhanger had left them desperate for more of the drama. @JMorgynWhite wrote: 'My god the cliffhanger on Motorheads was unacceptable without a Season 2 on the track – there is a Season 2 coming, right Prime Video?? Repeat after me 100% binge worthy.'
@SaishaStar tweeted: 'Please let there be a Season 2 that was a crazy cliffhanger and I need some answers on the backstory of Christian Maddox. So many Questions!'
@Riss286 demanded: 'RENEW Motorheads FOR SEASON 2 PLEASE!!!'

Jeremy Clarkson's pub staff walk out after 'too many problems'

Jeremy Clarkson's pub staff walk out after 'too many problems' "We've lost two waitresses. We lost a pot washer. After one day" Jeremy suffers staffing issues in his pub in the latest series of Clarkson's Farm (Image: Prime Video ) Prime Video viewers have been getting an insight into the opening of Jeremy Clarkson's pub and it revealed staff walked out at the time of its launch. The season four finale of Clarkson's Farm on Prime Video exposed all the challenges during The Farmer's Dog's tumultuous opening over the August bank holiday of 2024. Jeremy found himself addressing the trouble in a candid conversation with farm manager Charlie Ireland. After speaking highly of his staff in earlier episodes, describing them as friendly and ever-smiling, he reluctantly revealed: "We've lost two waitresses. We lost a pot washer. After one day." ‌ To add further insult to injury, pressure mounted during a distressing meeting with senior team members Sue and Rachel at the pub, where they highlighted big problems, reports the Express. ‌ They told Jeremy: "Everyone is exhausted, even when we say go for a break, there is no staff room." Jeremy Clarkson did not like what he heard in a sit down with staff members Sue and Rachel (Image: Prime Video ) "They're weeing in a portaloo. It's not lovely conditions. They love you. They're excited about the British food," they tried to reassure Jeremy. Article continues below Jeremy stating firmly: "I have no problem with the staff," before adding, "Not one single problem with the staff. They're all brilliant. They are smiling. They are nice." However, Sue and Rachel indicated that further attention might be needed in the kitchen, which was on the cusp of crisis. "The kitchen is about to go pop, those chefs have had it.... It might be worth popping into the kitchen," they suggested. ‌ "I just popped in," he said, only to be met with the response: "Go back." For the latest TV and showbiz gossip sign up to our newsletter Jeremy, who was worn out from working non-stop on the farm while also preparing the pub for its opening, was deeply offended by this suggestion and retorted: "Do you want me to go and find a manager? Or go back into the kitchen?" "Or do you want me to mend the leak? Or do you want me to deal with the car parking issues? Or do you want me to deal with the neighbours? Do you want me to deal with the council? I've got plenty to be doing and I'll get on with it. Thank you." ‌ This outburst was the last straw for the pair, who shortly after quit. Undefeated Jeremy said: "We've worked out if we shut the lavatories and use plastic glasses instead of glass ones, we'll have enough water to serve food until six. "The next problem is Sue and Rachel, who brilliantly set up the pub, have now left. So it's a Sunday morning, I've managed to get a new front of house person who is the head of sixth form at the local village school. That's good." Article continues below

ITV releases 'riveting' Amazon Prime thriller that's been compared to Severance

A 'whirlwind' thriller series that's drawn comparisons to Severance is now available to binge in full for free on ITVX. Released in 2023 on Amazon Prime Video, The Consultant was based on the book by Bentley Little and adapted for screen by Tony Basgallop (Inside Men, What Remains, Servant). The eight-part series starred Christoph Waltz as Regus Patoff, a mysterious consultant who comes to the rescue of CompWare, a mobile game studio based in downton Los Angeles, after the death of its CEO. After 'blowing into town' he takes charge of the company and leads with an unconventional management style. The series, which holds an 80% rating on Rotten Tomatoes and this week dropped on ITVX, was largely well received by critics and fans, who praised its 'slick presentation and diverting twists'. 'The series defies all expectations while sucking you into the strange story,' USA Today wrote in its review. To view this video please enable JavaScript, and consider upgrading to a web browser that supports HTML5 video 'This bonkers comedy-thriller burnishes the familiar deal-with-the-devil conceit with chipper, unapologetic cynicism, and appealing performances from its trio of leads,' Entertainment Weekly said. 'Although the official website profiles for The Consultant present it as a dark comedy, it's actually quite horrifying and triggering, especially for people who've traversed the corporate minefield, thereby putting it squarely in the horror genre,' Digital Mafia Talkies shared. 'The Consultant is a bonkers show that is a psychologically twisted minefield,' added. Meanwhile viewers said it was 'bizarre', 'thrilling and dark' and an 'absolute whirlwind'. Although many compared it to Ben Stiller's hit Apple TV Plus series Severance, some said it didn't quite live up to it. 'Severance did everything The Consultant tries to do but far, far better: thriller-level fear of the workplace; a sinister, expanding something-is-going-on feeling; two employees who really need to just kiss each other, now, come on; and never quite knowing if the cause of all the weirdness is supernatural, sci-fi, or Other,' it explained. 'The Consultant, despite Waltz's immaculate lapel-straightening, never quite fills you with that confidence.' In an interview with ScreenRant, Tony spoke mixing the tone of the series, which blended horror and comedy. More Trending 'I think I was led, really, by the novel by Bentley Little,' he said. 'That had a very cruel sense of humour to it, a darkness that I always like to bring into my own work. So that was it really, I wanted to kind of match that style that he'd created, and it felt like we were a good fit. 'He's a very dark and twisted individual, and I enjoy kind of adding my dark, twisted nature on top of his dark, twisted nature. So, we were building on each other there.' The Consultant also stars The Stand's Natt Wolff and The White Lotus' Brittany O'Grady. View More » The Consultant is streaming on ITVX and Amazon Prime Video. Got a story? 'You must be fed up' – Chris Kamara and Jeff Stelling's treatment now speaks volumes

'You must be fed up' – Chris Kamara and Jeff Stelling's treatment now speaks volumes Chris Kamara and Jeff Stelling were an iconic duo on Sky Sports' Soccer Saturday, where they shared numerous memorable and amusing moments before leaving the network Chris Kamara and Jeff Stelling are great friends (Image: X/@chris_kammy ) Chris Kamara has agreed with friend and former colleague Jeff Stelling over the most embarrassing moment in the legendary host's career. The seamless rapport between Kamara, who served as a live match reporter, and Stelling, who presented the show, was an enduring highlight of Sky Sports' Soccer Saturday. Their time working together was filled with passion, unexpected twists and a healthy dose of comedy. ‌ A particular incident that had Stelling blushing saw him corrected by Kamara for forgetting West Ham's transition to the London Stadium from their previous home at Upton Park. ‌ Stelling humorously branded the gaffe as the "lowest point" in his time as a presenter. Kamara concurs with his dear pal, telling the Daily Star: "Yeah, it's true, it probably was the lowest point in his career." But the former Brentford and Leeds defender added: "We had so many laughs along the way, too many to mention. What a great time we had, the best of it all. "And those memories and the way people treat myself and Jeff these days, they obviously enjoyed it as well. So that's a great thing." Article continues below Kamara remains known for his signature 'Unbelievable Jeff!' catchphrase that still resonates with fans today, with the love they each receive a testament to their respective legacies. He said: "If I go out every single day, somebody will say, 'Unbelievable Jeff'. And they go, 'You must be fed up with that?' Stelling's presentation of Soccer Saturday was slick, albeit with the odd mishap (Image: Sky Sports News/X ) "No, I'm not, not at all. I'm proud of it, if I'm honest, to have a catchphrase that's got longevity. Don't knock it." ‌ Kamara departed Sky as he grappled with apraxia of speech, while Stelling stepped down from his long-standing role as Soccer Saturday presenter in 2023. The pair were unexpectedly reunited on TV when Kamara was hired to report on Nottingham Forest vs Tottenham as part of Amazon Prime Video's Boxing Day coverage, fronted by Stelling. "That was great, absolutely great. I couldn't believe it," said Kamara, who is managing his symptoms of apraxia, a condition that impacts the ability to plan and coordinate the movements necessary for speech. Kamara was delighted and surprised to reunite with Stelling on Prime Video (Image: Amazon Prime Sport/X ) Article continues below "I thought it was a wind-up when I received the call from Amazon. They said, 'We've got an idea. Because it's our last round of games, and Sky have all the future Christmas games and stuff... we've got an idea, we're going to get you reporting with Jeff in the studio.' "I asked, 'Are you sure you want me back?' And they responded 'Yeah, yeah we do.' Nottingham Forest rolled out the red carpet for me, displayed my picture on the big screen, 'Welcome back, Kammy.' They even gave me boardroom tickets. "It was just wonderful, and I declared there and then if that is my last game, then so be it. The last game I covered before that for Sky was when my condition was really bad, Rotherham versus Shrewsbury."
