In the new advert for Warburtons, Colman represents the fictional Department of National Treasures (D.O.N.T).
Ambushing bakery boss Jonathan at his desk, the actor demands to inspect the crumpet production line to determine if the produce is worthy of 'National Treasure' status.
'This bakery is now under my jurisdiction,' Colman states, as she tells Jonathan to "walk and talk baker boy" after which she picks up a framed picture of Pulp Fiction actor Jackson and Jonathan and trashes it, saying, 'Whoops, butter fingers'.
Marching through the bakery, flanked by her squad of 'agents', Colman discusses the prestige of becoming a national treasure, saying they are 'the very essence of integrity, the gold standard, the bees knees …'

Staring into the distance, she goes on to say she will have to taste every crumpet topping: butter, jam, cheese, and avocado.
In the background, a saxophone solo from Careless Whisper plays with Warburtons enlisting saxophonist Steve Gregory, who played the tune in the original George Michael recording back in the early 80s, to do a re-record.
The 'inspection' turns out to be fake as Colman departs, crumpet in hand, in a vehicle with blacked-out windows, and surrounded by packets of crumpets.
Discussing her appearance in the advert, Colman said: "I was simply there to ensure a lifetime supply landed in my kitchen.'
"In all seriousness, though, it was a whole load of fun to film. Warburtons, you've got yourselves a crumpet connoisseur for life."
Jonathan Warburton said: 'We're absolutely thrilled to have Olivia Colman join us for this adventure.

'I might be biased, but I certainly believe our crumpets deserve national treasure status, and if Colman's enthusiasm for the inspection is anything to go by, I'd say she does too.
'I'm confident our crumpets will rise to the occasion, even if that occasion is simply being a delicious breakfast or snack at the Colmans' for many years to come.'
The bread-baking business is run by the fifth generation of Warburtons, having been set up in 1876 as a grocery shop in Bolton by Thomas and Ellen Warburton.

Kieran Culkin faces fierce fury over his bizarre response to being cast in Hunger Games prequel

Along with his iconic role as Roman Roy in the hit series Succession (and his appearance as the lesser-known McAllister brother in Home Alone), Kieran Culkin is also known for his dry humor. For years now in various interviews and speeches, he's made countless 'jokes' about not caring about his job or not knowing what he's doing. He's sarcastically discussed his own award nominations, told fans who have called him their favorite actor that they should 'aim higher,' and claimed the Oscar awards was just a bargaining chip to get his wife to agree to have more children. And most recently, he's made a pretty shocking statement about his upcoming portrayal of Caesar Flickerman in the Hunger Games prequel, The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping. Culkin, 42, who was confirmed to appear in the series last month, was signing autographs for fans outside of his Broadway play, Glengarry Glen Ross, when he made the comment. A fan, recording Culkin, told him, 'You're going to an amazing Caesar Flickerman.' 'I don't think so,' Culkin responded as the supporter continued, 'I'm so excited.' Culkin then said, 'Lower those expectations please... please do... I have no idea what I'm going to do with that.' Most recently, he's made a pretty shocking statement about his upcoming portrayal of Caesar Flickerman (seen in the original franchise) in the Hunger Games prequel Culkin is an Oscar-winning actor, and yet his nonchalant attitude about his accomplishments is starting to rub fans the wrong way - especially when it comes to a franchise as beloved as The Hunger Games. Fans took to social media to share their disapproval over Culkin's comments after the video went viral on X, formerly Twitter. 'This "I don't take anything seriously" act of his has worn out its welcome' one X user shared. 'This whole bit of his where he doesn't give a f**k or care about his job is tired and annoying,' another agreed. 'I thought winning one of the most undeserved Oscars ever might make him less annoying, but it didn't,' said someone else. 'The pretending not to care thing is getting old because [people of color] would get slaughtered for this and there's better actors out there that probs couldn't even get an audition for this,' a different person pointed out. 'I cannot not think of all the actresses who are witch hunted daily for making jokes not even close to this… a woman publicly saying she is not prepared for a role? Cannot even imagine,' a fifth tweet read. has reached out to Culkin for comment. Fans expressed anger at Culkin's constant sarcasm, pointing out the double standards in the industry that allow him to get away with it 'Can you imagine the reactions if Rachel Zegler had said that?' asked another user, undoubtedly referencing the backlash Zegler received when she shared her opinions about the original Snow White movie being 'dated.' The upcoming Hunger Games film is set to be released on November 20, 2026, and explores the world of Panem about 24 years before Katniss Everdeen's story. As of right now, the franchise includes five books and six movies, the most recent release being The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes movie which was released in 2023. And with Sunrise on the Reaping being not too far away, fans are encouraging Culkin to get it together. 'Lower expectations... this is the f**king hunger games... not your little Saturday Night Live monologue..... READ THE BOOKS AND GET THE F**K TO WORK,' another user said.

The couple who met on ITV reality show Celebrity Big Brother have been enjoying a visit to the Cotswolds, where they toured the stables run by Grand National and Cheltenham Gold Cup-winning trainer Jonjo O'Neill JoJo Siwa has told her followers that Chris Hughes 'makes everything better' after they visited some of his favourite places. The pop star, 22 and ex-Love Island contestant have started dating after meeting on the set of Celebrity Big Brother. After a trip to Mexico to support Dance Moms star Jojo, where she was performing and celebrating her birthday, Chris was keen to show his new partner the Cotswolds. The 32-year-old grew up on a farm in the area and he has had a long association with racing stable Jackdaws Castle, where Grand National and Cheltenham Gold Cup-winning trainer Jonjo O'Neill is based. ‌ Chris, who rides out on the gallops when time allows, took Jojo on a tour of the yard - and started to help her overcome her fear of horses. ‌ In an Instagram post sharing pictures of the trip, Jojo was seen stroking a pony in a field, with the caption: "Touching a horse for the first time in 8 years (since I was thrown off one during a filming I've been scared to be around them haha loved this though after I warmed up!).' Chris was keen to show Jojo how gentle horses can be at O'Neill's yard, with the pair posing for a picture next to a thoroughbred he rode, showing his talents in the saddle. Annie Mc won seven times, including a Grade Two event and two races at Listed level, performances Chris and the members were proud of. Best sport in the world." Chris has seen Annie Mc at Carisbrooke Stud, where she was retired to become a broodmare and gave birth to a foal by Doctor Dino. On a rainy day, Chris patted the now 11-year-old former chaser and kissed his "legend" on the nose in one clip. ‌ "She fills our hearts with happiness, win, lose or draw and she's just such a special, genuine mare to be involved with," he said previously. "She's one in a lifetime and all of us connected are so proud. Heart of a lion." As well as spending time with horses, Chris and Jojo went to Broadway, enjoying coffee and breakfast on the trip as their relationship continues to blossom. "Nothing beats wholesome & pure days like these," Jojo added on Instagram.

Netflix fans left 'ugly crying' by 'absolutely heartbreaking' thriller so intense they 'had to take a break' halfway through

A Netflix tear-jerker has left fans so emotional they had to pause the film to regain their composure. 'Movies don't make you cry like this these days,' wrote one viewer online, after watching brand new heart-tugging Netflix film, 'Straw'. From the mind of Tyler Perry (writer, producer and director), Straw sends viewers spiralling through a tempestuous day in the life of 'Janiyah' (Taraji P. Henson) as she faces adversity and struggles to make ends meet for her unwell young daughter. The cerebral tale has been praised for its unexpected twist ending, and exploration of prejudice in the healthcare and banking systems, as well its call for discussion around mental health in Black communities. 'She's just trying to survive, just trying to be a great mother to her daughter, and then the circumstances in her life cause her to be in this situation,' Perry told Netflix's Tudum. 'I think that a lot of people around the world, no matter if you're a Black woman or not, will be able to relate to that feeling of, 'I'm at my last straw.'' From A-list scandals and red carpet mishaps to exclusive pictures and viral moments, subscribe to the DailyMail's new Showbiz newsletter to stay in the loop. After being released on June 6, Straw has rapidly ascended the Netflix charts, now hitting no.1 movie in the UK, and audiences online are bubbling over with emotion at the psychological thriller. 'I just finished watching #StrawNetflix I cried, crode and I crewwweedddd. Taraji's pain and trauma were just too much...' 'The way Straw raises awareness on psychosis , and the different stages of grief! Beautifully done! #StrawNetflix' 'Taraji P. Henson is one of THE BEST actresses ever. #StrawNetflix was simply incredible and she deserves an Oscar. 'The emotion I felt watching this was insane. I cried from start to finish. Single moms. We are incredibly strong.' 'This is a tear jerker. The ugly cry I did is unmatched.' 'I give this a 9/10. This movie triggers you emotionally in the most least expected way. Prepare to cry.' Straw marks Henson and Perry's fourth collaboration in the cinema world, having previously worked together on Acrimony, I Can Do Bad All by Myself, and The Family That Preys. In Straw, Henson is joined by a stellar cast, featuring Sherri Shepherd, Teyana Taylor and Jingle All the Way star Sinbad, in his first role since suffering a stroke in 2020. Despite an emotive response on social media, some film reviewers were critical, suggesting that Taraji P. Henson's tear-jerking performance elevated the film, whilst the writing and plot were subpar, and unsurprising from Perry. Though critics reviews were mixed, the film received a 76% audience review on Rotten Tomatoes. Henson expressed in an interview with Extra that she anticipated a stirring response from audiences. 'You never know what cross someone is carrying,' she noted, explaining that she hoped the film would invoke an impetus to show kindness towards strangers in the audience.
