Time of India2 days ago
The 'War 2' trailer sparked excitement, but a brief kiss between Hrithik Roshan and Kiara Advani ignited an age-gap debate due to their 18-year difference. While some fans questioned the pairing, many defended it, citing both actors as consenting adults. Meanwhile, fan theories circulate, suggesting Kiara's character may be linked to a RAW official and involved in tracking Hrithik's character.
The trailer of War 2 finally dropped on July 25, igniting a wave of excitement among fans. While the film promises high-stakes action and an epic face-off between
Hrithik Roshan
,
Jr NTR
, and
Kiara Advani
, it's a brief kiss between Hrithik and Kiara that's creating the biggest stir online.
The moment has triggered a heated age-gap debate, with fans divided over their 18-year difference.
Social Media Reacts to the Age Gap
A Reddit user shared a screenshot of Hrithik and Kiara's kiss from War 2, questioning why the 18-year age gap between the two wasn't being discussed more. Hrithik is 51, while Kiara is 33. Surprisingly, unlike usual online reactions to such gaps, most fans appear unbothered—many even defended the pairing.
Mixed Opinions Online
While one user wrote, 'There is literally an 18-year age gap between Hritik and Kiara', another one added, 'A 22-year-old being cast opposite a 40-year-old, and a 32-year-old opposite a 50-year-old, is a big difference'.
However, a user also wrote, 'This is just unnecessary atp. A woman of 33 is not some novice child. It's creepy to pair a woman in her 20s with a man in his 50s-60s, but in her 30s, she's a fully mature woman, and a 33-year-old woman and a 51-year-old is not some extraordinary age difference even in the real world.' Another one added, 'Idk why the age difference is a problem. They are both consenting adults'.
Theories About Kiara's Role
Meanwhile, Reddit is abuzz with fan theories surrounding Kiara Advani's character in War 2. One viral post suggests she plays Kavya Luthra, the daughter of Colonel Sunil Luthra (Ashutosh Rana), a senior RAW official in the YRF Spyverse. According to the theory, Kavya may be linked to the mission to track down Hrithik Roshan's rogue agent, Kabir. However, none of this speculation — including Kiara's character name — has been officially confirmed.
War 2 hits theatres on August 14, 2025.

Big-budget clash with south films to test Bollywood mettle

Bollywood's theatrical revival faces a crucial test in the latter half of 2025 as big-budget Hindi films clash with highly anticipated southern releases. With films like 'War 2' and 'Coolie' vying for audience attention, the box office battle could significantly impact revenue, potentially costing each film ₹20-40 crore in North India alone. Tired of too many ads? Remove Ads Tired of too many ads? Remove Ads Tired of too many ads? Remove Ads Mumbai: A clash for box office share between big-budget Hindi and southern films in the next few months will put the theatrical revival of Bollywood to the test, say producers and trade big southern films-Coolie (Tamil), Kantara: Chapter 1 (Kannada) and The Raja Saab (Telugu)-are scheduled for release in the second half of 2025. Their release dates clash directly with Bollywood movies War 2, Ikkis, Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari and each of these films having an estimated budget of ₹150-400 crore, the stakes are second half of 2025 began on a promising note for Bollywood with the unexpected success of the mid-budget Saiyaara, which has raked in ₹175 crore in box-office collections since its July 18 release. But the market dynamics will be different for the upcoming releases. This is the first time since the pandemic when the release dates of big southern films are clashing with Hindi films of similar scale."Post-pandemic, the lines between regional and Hindi films have blurred," said producer and film business expert Girish Johar. "Today, audiences want the best content. So, if there is a formidable southern film aimed at a pan-India audience ... it does impact the box office potential of the competing Hindi film."Bollywood producers often avoid clashes with southern films, as loyal audiences of southern films shun Hindi movies to watch their favourite stars on screen. A blockbuster pan-India film form the south could reduce the box office potential of a competing Hindi film by 10-20%, according to trade experts."When tentpole films clash, the impact at the box office is far deeper than just opening-day collections," said Suniel Wadhwa, co-founder and director of Karmic Films. "Screens are shared. Show timings are compromised. In north India alone, a high-stakes clash can mean a ₹20-40 crore loss in revenues for each film."Revenue from digital, satellite and overseas rights will also take a hit, say distributors. They suggest a solo release of a big-budget Hindi or southern film as a practical solution."A well-timed solo release can improve legs at the box office, optimise holdover weeks and elevate a film from a ₹300 crore hit to a ₹500 crore blockbuster," said Wadhwa of Karmic Films."Clashes are always bad for business," said Rajesh R Nair, the producer of Hindi films such as Kaminey and Adipurush. Southern films are tracking well, especially Kantara: Chapter 1, one of the most awaited sequels, he said. He also expects strong competition to the upcoming Bollywood movies from Rajinikanth's Coolie and the Prabhas-starrer horror-comedy: The Raja trade analysts believe that the timing of these releases may work in their favour, as these will be released on public holidays when footfalls are usually high in theatres."Also, the genres of these competing films are different. These films will be accommodated," said Girish Wankhede, a movie trade analyst. But in the long run, he said "only the content of these films will work".While the success of Saiyaara was encouraging, theatres also recorded noteworthy contributions from Hollywood films such as Superman, Jurassic World: Rebirth and The Fantastic Four: First Steps. Apart from Indian films, Hollywood movies such as Zootopia 2 and Avatar: Fire and Ash are also scheduled for release in the second half of to media and entertainment research firm Ormax Media, the second half of 2025 is likely to contribute 52% to the all-India box office revenue of ₹13,500 crore estimated for 2025.

Suniel Shetty sparks fresh row, says ‘if husband is building career, wife needs to take care of child', netizens react

Bollywood actor Suniel Shetty has once again landed in a controversy with his latest 'wife needs to take care of child' remark. Previously, it was his "comfort of C-section' remark which earned him backlash on the internet. Now, he is being criticised once again for saying that a wife should understand and take care of their child while the husband is busy with his career. During an interview, Suniel Shetty was asked how the concept of marriage has evolved over time. He told Pinkvilla, 'Aaj kal bachon mein patience hai hi nahi. Shaadi kuch time ke baad ek samjhauta hota hai, where you have to understand each other, live for each other. (Kids these days have no patience. Marriage, after a while, becomes a compromise, where you have to understand each other and live for one another).' He went on to add how the wife's role should change after the arrival of a child in a family. He added, 'Phir ek bacha aata hai, aur patni ko yeh jaan na zaruri hai ki husband career banayega toh bache ko main dekh rahi hoon. Husband, of course, saath mein dekhega. Par aaj kal sab cheezon mein pressure bohot ho gaya hai. (Then a child comes into the picture, and the wife needs to understand that if the husband is building his career, she will need to take care of the child. Of course, the husband will also be involved. But these days, there is just too much pressure in everything)." Suniel also acknowledged that much has changed over the years, pointing out how the virtual world now offers advice on everything, from parenting tips on being a mother or father to guidance on what to eat and how to live. His statement has received mixed reactions from the internet. Reacting to it, someone posted on Reddit and wrote, 'He needs to stop talking.' A user commented sarcastically, 'I think he should try C-section in interviews since the delivery of his statements normally go wrong (sic).' 'Bhai apni image khud hee kharab kar raha h (he is ruining his own image)... Sometimes being quiet is the wisest thing, doesn't their PR team advice them? Or even people around them…Bro should learn from his damad (sic).' 'After natural birth warrior story he is back with a male chauvinism anecdote! Seriously he should just stop talking (sic),' added another. 'He has turned out to be such an unlikable person,' one more wrote. He will be next seen in the upcoming season of Hunter Tootega Nahi Todega.
