Poor urged to utilise govt schemes to save money
Speaking about Indiramma housing, he advised that only the most eligible and genuinely poor should be recommended by the committees. On social issues, the minister expressed concern that poor people are falling into debt due to unnecessary celebrations and expenses.
He criticised the trend of private schooling, private healthcare, and excessive functions, leading to financial strain.
'The government is investing in public education infrastructure and teacher appointments, and people should send their children to government schools to save money,' he stressed.
Speaking on awareness about Bhu Bharati Act, he said that ancestral lands, lands bought through hard work, government-given lands to the poor (Poramboku lands), and even valuable government lands were lost due to the deceptive Dharani Act.
'Soon, the village revenue systemwould be reintroduced, and land records would be properly safeguarded,' said Jupally.
He also said that revenue officials are responsible for identifying encroached lands in Chinnambavi and Panagaland restoring them as government property.
Later, the Collector informed that pamphlets about the Bhu Bharati law are being distributedto raise awareness among the locals and that once implemented, people must refrain from citing ignorance about the law. 'Make use of these awareness events,' he stressed.

Rich tributes paid to Venkata Krishna Rao on centenary
VIJAYAWADA: The State government has decided to name the Official Language Commission after Mandali Venkata Krishna Rao, a revered champion of the Telugu language and public service. Attending as the chief guest, Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu made the announcement during Venkata Krishna Rao's centenary celebrations at Tummalapalli Kalakshetram in Vijayawada. The event paid tribute to Krishna Rao's lifelong contributions to the Telugu language, culture, and his heroic efforts during the 1977 Diviseema cyclone. Naidu described Krishna Rao as an exemplary leader whose commitment to Gandhian principles and value-based politics remains a beacon. 'Working with him as an MLA from 1978 to 1983 was a privilege. His integrity and dedication to public welfare set him apart,' Naidu said. He highlighted Krishna Rao's role in organising the first World Telugu Conference in Hyderabad (1957) and the second in Kuala Lumpur (1981), and in establishing the International Telugu Institute and overseas Telugu service centres. Krishna Rao's leadership during the 1977 cyclone, which claimed 12,000 lives and displaced lakhs, was lauded. He rescued orphans, oversaw cremations, and mobilised aid for rehabilitation, including permanent housing and embankments. 'His efforts, alongside NTR's fundraising, ensured relief for the affected,' Naidu recalled, drawing parallels to his own experience managing disasters like the 1996 Super Cyclone and Hudhud. Naidu also praised Krishna district's legacy of producing luminaries like Bhogaraju Pattabhi Seetaramayya, Mutnuri Krishna Rao, and Viswanatha Satyanarayana, placing Venkata Krishna Rao among them. Krishna Rao's early involvement in the freedom struggle, including the Quit India Movement, and his support for poor students with books and kerosene, reflected his lifelong commitment to social welfare. He secured 15,000 acres of coastal land for cultivation and distributed 50,000 acres to uplift 11,000 families through cooperative farming. His contributions to education included efforts to establish Kakatiya University and Acharya Nagarjuna University, and organising the 1974 All-India Telugu Cultural Festival, which led to the formation of the Official Language Commission. Naidu commended Krishna Rao's son, Buddha Prasad, for continuing his legacy. He also called on scholar Garikapati Narasimha Rao to reconsider serving as a government advisor to further such values.

I&PR Minister laments that govt. could not effectively communicate spree of welfare schemes to the people
Revenue and Information & Public Relations Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy has lamented that the State government could not take the spree of welfare and developmental programmes introduced and implemented since the Congress took over the reins effectively to the people. The BRS indulged in hoodwinking the people through false propaganda during its 10-year rule and was continuing the same as the main Opposition party in the State. 'Our government is unable to explain to the people about the host of welfare schemes launched in the interests of poor and lower classes,' he said. The Minister made the remarks during a video conference with the district public relations officers on Tuesday. He recalled how the Indiramma government headed by Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy took several initiatives to fulfil the promises ahead of the previous elections as well as schemes that did not find a mention in the party's election manifesto, but was not able to communicate the achievements effectively to the people. In addition to a slew of welfare schemes like free bus travel to women, LPG cylinder at subsidised price of ₹500, farm loan waiver, Rythu Bharosa and others, the government successfully filled 60,000 vacancies in different departments making Telangana the first State to make such massive recruitments. 'Unlike the previous government which mislead the people through Goebbels' propaganda in its 10-year rule, the Congress government implemented spree of welfare schemes in one-and-a-half years of its rule,' he said. He cited the distribution of new ration cards to seven lakh families in addition to including names of 15 lakh members in ration cards. The Bhu Bharati Act was enacted to mitigate the hardships faced by farmers in securing rights on their lands. The government had implemented these schemes in spite of the financial constraints it faced ever since it took over the reins. Mr. Srinivas Reddy directed the I&PR officials to take the schemes to the people as it was their responsibility to effectively communicate the government's welfare-centric schemes.

The state government is always supportive of women's advancement
On Wednesday, the Indira Mahila Shakti Sambarala was organized grandly at the Royal Function Hall in Madanapur and Kothakota, two mandals of Devarakadra constituency, under the auspices of the District Rural Development Department. Devarakadra MLA G. Madhusudhan Reddy and District Collector Adarsh Surabhi participated in this program as chief guests. Speaking on the occasion, the legislators said that the country's first female Prime Minister, Indira Gandhi, was known as the Iron Lady. They recalled that she defeated Pakistan in the 1971 war with Pakistan without bowing to American mediation and divided Pakistan into two parts. The state government is working tirelessly with the aim that only if women are economically empowered under the rule of such an iron lady, Indira Gandhi, families will be better off. The government has provided free travel in RTC buses to women in the state and has paid Rs. 6500 crore to the RTC management, he said. He said that up to 200 units of free electricity will be provided to 43 thousand families in the Devarakadra constituency. For this, Rs. 1.26 crore has been paid to the power department. He said that a cylinder will be provided for just Rs. 500. He said that if people are unable to buy fine rice and cannot eat thick rice, the state government will supply free fine rice to white ration card holders through cheap shops. He said that farmers have been given farmer assurance under investment assistance for agricultural cultivation through farmer assurance. He said that since farmers are facing difficulties due to Dharani, the Dharani Act has been implemented in the Bay of Bengal and the Bhu Bharati Act has been brought in to benefit the farmers in the country. He informed that revenue conferences will be held and the problems of farmers' lands will be solved. New government hospitals will be built to strengthen education and medicine. He said that an integrated residential school will be built at a cost of Rs. 200 crore. To strengthen women financially, school uniforms are being sewn by women's groups. Soon a petrol station will be set up for women at Miraspalli, Kothakota. He said that RTC buses have been made owners. He said that an opportunity has been provided in Shilparamam to members of women's groups to go to Hyderabad and sell the goods made and benefit from them. Y.S. He said that steps have been taken to restart the Abhaya Hastam scheme introduced when Rajasekhar Reddy was the Chief Minister. He said that he has left the legal profession and is engaged in public service. He said that he is working to establish a Brahmos missile factory in Devarakadra at a cost of Rs. 2000 crore and to set up a dry port at Addakula. District Collector Adarsh Surabhi, who participated in the program, said that in any family where the woman is financially strong, that family will be financially well. If the woman in the family is educated, the entire family will be educated. That is why the government has sanctioned interest-free loans for women's financial self-reliance. He said that the interest of 15.5 crores has been refunded to the accounts of women's associations in the district. He said that a total of Rs. 3.44 crores has been sanctioned to two mandals in Devarakadra. He said that banks are ready to provide loans and encourage women to start businesses. He said that skill training will also be provided to start businesses. He said that a skill training center will be set up in the district soon. He said that a Women's Federation building will be constructed in Wanaparthy at a cost of Rs. 5 crore so that the District Women's Federations and Mandal Women's Federations will have their own buildings. He said that 50 thousand uniforms have been sewn by the Women's Federation members for students studying in government schools. Rice purchasing centers have been given to the Women's Federations. Women's Power Canteens have been set up in government offices. He informed that the government is ready to encourage women by providing bank loans if they come forward to do business in their preferred fields. Uma Devi, who presided over the program, explained the programs undertaken by the government for women's empowerment in Wanaparthy district. He said that from now on, members of women's federations will be given an insurance of Rs. 10 lakh in case of accidental death. Similarly, loan insurance has also been provided. He said that if the woman who took the loan dies, the loan will be waived. Later, 5 best members of women's federations were felicitated from the Mandal Federation. A cheque for Rs. 8.30 crore for interest-free bank loans for the year 2025-26 was given to women's groups. Accident insurance and loan insurance cheques of Rs. 2.38 lakh were handed over to the mandal women's associations, and a cheque of Rs. 6529903 was handed over to the Kothakota Municipality. A cheque of Rs. 138936 for the rent received from the RTC bus was handed over to the members of the women's associations. Adarapu Collector Local Bodies In-charge Yadayya, Madhapur Market Committee Chairman Prashanth, Market Yard Director Pavani, District Women's Association President Swaroopa, Mandal Association Presidents Chennamma, Jayalakshmi, Congress leaders, members of women's associations and others participated in this program.
