Longhorns women's basketball trio earns All-American Honors Longhorns women's basketball earns multiple All-American honors
On Wednesday, Longhorns women's basketball made headlines. The talented trio of Madison Booker, Rori Harmon, and Taylor Jones earned All-American honors. During the 2024-2025 regular season, the Longhorns were one of the best teams in the nation, partly due to this talented group.
For Booker, this marks the second straight year she has earned All-American honors. She ranks second on the team in rebounding and has seven double-doubles on the season. The Germantown High School product has been incredibly efficient with the ball in her hands, shooting 45.9 percent from the field. Against ranked opponents, Booker is averaging 20.5 points per game.
Like Booker, this is not the first time Harmon has been an All-American. This is the third as a Longhorn, Harmon has earned the honor. The talented point guard is a semifinalist for the Naismith Defensive Player of the Year Award. This season, she became the first player in Texas women's basketball history to reach 1,200 career points.
Rounding out this exceptional trio is Taylor Jones. This is the first time she has earned All-American honors in her college career. The Texas native has been a force at center, scoring in double figures in 22 games. She has been a human highlight reel on the boards, with 1,065 in her college career.
As Texas looks to make a deep March Madness run, they will need their stars to build on their success. With Booker, Harmon, and Jones leading the way, they are in good hands and will be one of the toughest teams to face in the tournament.

Two Longhorns named to Comeback Player of the Year watch list

When the 2025 campaign begins, the Texas Longhorns offense is expected to be one of the best in the nation. They will be led by Arch Manning, who will have a talented supporting cast of new faces and veterans to rely on. That will include CJ Baxter and Christin Clark, who were named to the preseason watch list for the College Football Comeback Player of the Year award on Tuesday. While expectations are high for the Longhorns' running backs, they both have been out of action for over a year. Baxter's 2024 season ended before it began last fall when he tore his LCL and PCL in camp. However, when healthy, the Orlando native has been hard to stop due to his speed. In 13 games, during the 2023 campaign, Baxter recorded 659 yards on 138 attempts. As the Edgewater High School product provided a spark to the offense, he averaged 50.7 yards per game. He also found the end zone five times and added 156 receiving yards to his resume. During the postseason, he continued to impress with 64 yards on nine carries in the College Football Playoff semifinal against Washington. Although the Longhorns are happy to have Baxter back in the mix, they will also get a boost from Clark. Like Baxter, he missed all of the 2024 season after tearing his Achilles in the fall. When he makes his college debut, many people will be watching closely. The talented running back arrived at Forty Acres with high expectations. Coming out of high school, Clark was ranked as one of the top prospects in his class. During his varsity career, the Mountain Pointe High School product recorded 1,890 rushing yards and 24 rushing touchdowns. He was a key piece of an offense that averaged 150.5 rushing yards per game. With the 2025 season less than two weeks away, Baxter and Clark's focus is on bringing a title to Austin. However, they will be watching how the Comeback Player of the Year voting shakes out. Adding more hardware after missing time would not be a bad comeback story.

Moore, Baxter & Wisner on Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award watchlist

De'Andre Moore, CJ Baxter and Tre Wisner were named to the Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award watchlist. The trio could join D'Onta Foreman as the only Longhorns to win the award in history. Award watchlists from around the country continue to roll in, but this one has deep Texas ties. The Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award is a prestigious award given out every year to the best offensive player in the country with Texas ties. The name sake is obviously legendary Texas RB and Heisman winner, Earl Campbell. A trio of Longhorns made their way onto the watchlist this year. DeAndre Moore, CJ Baxter and Quintrevion Wisner made the list and hope to join D'Onta Foreman as Longhorns to win the award. Ashton Jeanty took home the award last year with his over 2,000 yard campaign for Boise State. As you can imagine, it is filled with some of the best college football players in the country, given the talent level of Texas high school recruiting. Texas will face off against a couple QBs on the watchlist in DJ Lagway, Taylen Green and John Mateer this year. De'Andre Moore might have a better chance to win this than some would think. Ryan Wingo is the clear WR1 on the team, but Moore has the ability to put up incredible numbers and play both in the slot and outside this year. He's been taking a step forward every year and he's set up to have a true breakout campaign this year. The running back duo might just get in each other's way to win this one, but it should benefit the Longhorns in the long run. Quintrevion Wisner will likely lead the way early in the season, as CJ Baxter all the way up to game speed. Once CJ gets back to 100%, which sounds like it'll be soon, this will be a clean split. The numbers might not be insane for either, but as a duo, they can put up some incredible stats. Winning this would be an incredible honor for any of the three Longhorns, because of the tie to a Longhorn legend like Earl Campbell. Also, if they were to win, the hope is they would have a scheduling nightmare on their hands. The award was presented in Tyler, Texas on January 21st, 2026. The national championship is in Miami, Florida on January 20th, 2026. The hope is De'Andre Moore, CJ Baxter or Quintrevion Wisner have a happy flight back from Miami into Dallas to get their second trophy in as many days.

Arch Manning earns spot on Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award watch list

ARCH MANNING TAKES IT 67 YARDS TO THE HOUSE WITH HIS LEGS 😱It's the longest rush by a Texas QB since Vince Young in 2005. With the start of the college football season less than two weeks away, high expectations are high for the Texas Longhorns. They are currently ranked as the top team in the nation and have been a popular team in preseason watch lists. That continued one Tuesday when Arch Manning earned a spot on the preseason watch list for the Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award. The award is given each year to the top senior or upperclassman quarterback set to graduate with their class. For many, Manning's latest recognition comes as no surprise. He is seen as one of the best quarterbacks in the nations and has impressed at Texas when given the opportunity. During the 2024 campaign, the New Orleans native completed 61 of his 90 passes for 939 yards. He also found the end zone nine times and averaged 93.9 yards a game. While filling in for an injured Quinn Ewers, Manning was a threat with his legs, recording 108 yards on 25 attempts. As Maning showed fans a taste of what the future held, excitement started to build in Austin. The Isidore Newman High School product was also able to take care of the football, only throwing two interceptions. So in his college career, Maning is 2-0 as a starter. ARCH MANNING 49-YARD TOUCHDOWN TO DEANDRE MOORE JR. 🔥STOOD IN THE POCKET AND DELIVERED A DART 🎯 Over the last few weeks, Manning has been a popular name in headlines. He has also earned spots on preseason watch lists for the Davey O'Brien Award, Walter Camp National Player of the Year Award, and Maxwell Award. At the beginning of the month, he was named First-Team All-America by The Sporting News. When it comes to the Johnny Unitas award, the Longhorns have had success in the past. Last season, Quinn Ewers was named a Top 10 finalist for the award. The last Longhorns quarterback to win it was Colt McCoy in 2009. If Manning can meet his high expectations, then he could join McCoy as the only Longhorns QB to take home the Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award when the winner is named in December.
